These shoes have good soles - I can walk around all day without sore feet. The uppers, however, are still quite stiff after a month of daily wear - if I tie the shoes too tightly, they cause pain where the top of the foot meets the ankle. Overall good shoes - just lace them a little loose and they'll be good.

Leather was a bit plastic looking, but the real problem was the width. Shoe length was perfect, but was narrow at the cap which really hurt the outside of my foot. Thought I could break them in, but didn't work, just plain uncomfortable.

Comfortable fit, however lack of ventilation made this shoe uncomfortable to wear for an extended period of time.

I have very narrow feet. 10.5 AAA. I bought these because they were one of the dress shoes on Zappos in narrow width. The good news is they fit. The bad news is they are uncomfortable. The leather is very stiff. Very slow to break them in. The uppers dig into my feet around the ankles and lace top. In summary, they fit, look good, but I am ready to take them off when I get home from work.

I've worn these shoes daily for 2 and half years. About a year into them I developed plantar fasciitis which I attributed to running. Stopped running. It hasn't gone away. Any sort of padding has long since gone away. They started out very comfortable, and now they are actually painful to wear. The waterproofing has also failed.

Good looking but painful - Painful to wear. Shoe does not break in at all. Pinched my toes while walking. Would not recommend.

The top part of the shoe from the laces around to the heel was discolored on the left shoe--like the top part was painted black over brown.

These shoes are solid. I have put a LOT of miles on these dress shoes and my only challenge was getting them broken in. I had to double dress sock to get passed the wear in one big toe knuckle. I've had them for about 4 years and wear them at least 4 days a week. Both soles and uppers are still hanging in there.

I am pleased with how well these shoes fit in size 11 B. The shoes are very comfortable and did not require any breaking-in. I considered this pair and other similar Rockport styles specifically because thay are offered in the B or narrow width. The narrow size fits the witdth of my foot perfectly with plenty of room for toes.

What a great dress shoe. It's got modern look with the square shaped front and the classic style of a captoe. Super comfortable too.

These shoes are the best my husband has ever worn to work. He has to dress in a conservatively, formal business attire; however, he loves to walk on his lunch hour whenever possible. The shoes are more comfortable and look as good, if not better, than his other dress shoes which cost more than twice the price. Plus - they've lasted him a year of daily wear. Now that's a shoe!

Geat fit and excellent service. These shoes wear great from the first day I put them on. I have owned Rockport shoes before and these are by far the best dress shoes I have owned yet.

I love these shoes! I have a narrow foot and finding a shoe that will feel right and look good is difficult for me. Thank you Zappos for the Rockport Office Essentials Ellingwood. Not sure where to start as far as the good things to say. I'm a 350lb man wearing a 15 W(EE). In the first 5 minutes of wear I knew I made the right choice. A month of long days, and 40 minute walks at lunch and I couldn't be happier. With the gift of Zappos free shipping both ways, you have to give these a try. I really should order another pair for the future.

These shoes are great once you break them in. Rockports are the only way to go for a business casual environment.

Very pleased with this shoe. Stylish, comfortable, and waterproof at the same time. The sides are a little stiff but will probably break in soon. Would definitely purchase them again. Fit true to size.

Very comfortable & lightweight. True size; M width is very generous (probably no need to go "E" unless you're really wide).

While many people claim to have good service Zappos.com just does it right. I purchased a pair of shoes for a TV appearance I had and I made a mistake and bought the wrong size. It was my mistake. When I called them they were so helpful. They sent out the next pair that day and I received it two days later and sent a return tag to send the wrong pair back at no cost to me. To me this is good ole American customer service. I will shop with them whenever possible.

These are wonderful shoes. Fit great and are easy to maintain. Perfect for business casual.

Yes! I have just received my pair of these shoes. All I can say about them is that they are great. I'm a big man with a 4E wide foot and can't hardly find good fitting footwear. This shoe fit perfect and is very comfortable to wear. My thanks to Rockport and Zappos for supplying a very quality and easy to wear shoe, out of the box.

Finally a comfortable dress shoe. I can wear these all day with no problems whatsoever. I'm a big guy so I need comfortable shoes when I'm going to be on my feet all day. I gave away my Johnston and Murphy shoes after getting these because they're so much more comfortable. Build quality is nice, materials are good, they hold their shape and original shine like a champ. I'll be looking for another pair of slightly more "casual" dress shoes, perhaps slip ons of similar make and materials soon.
