Oh my goodness, oh my goodness--- I cannot describe the pure joy that overcame me when I realized that New Balance brought back the BEST RUNNING SHOE EVER! When the Minimus line first came out, I tried them on and was unsure, but bought them anyway, and those initial shoes turned out to be the only shoes, after about 18 years of being a runner, that never gave me a blister. Not once. Even after a marathon. Then they redesigned the shoes slightly, and it was still a stellar shoes. And then for some mysterious reason, they discontinued the line! So for the past year my feet have suffered through many brands and shoes and always, right around the 4 mile mark, start rubbing and giving me blisters along my arch. And now, boom! These babies are back!! I kid you not, I ordered two pairs and will probably stock pile many more. They are the best thing you will ever encounter. (Note to sizing: I am a 7 1/2 but run in an 8).

I've never had a better pair of running shoes than the Vibram sole minimus by New Balance. I missed them so much when they were discontinued. They're back and I couldn't be more delighted! They are the lightest shoe I have ever owned and have the benefit of the Vibram sole without the awkwardness of the toe separation.

This is a NICE looking shoe. Aesthetically I prefer it to the old Minimus shoes. They run very small though. I wore socks with my old version of minimus. I can’t fit my foot into this version with a sock on. I will be returning but do yourself a favor and size up or plan to wear without socks to avoid a return. The photo shows the new minimus on the left and the old one on the right. Both are the same size.

I own a pair of this exact style from a previous year and they have made some major changes. The toe box is narrower and shorter, so if you like a roomier fit you'll need to go up a half size. There are now several pieces of stiff rubber or plastic in different spots (on the side of the shoe where your arch on the side/bottom of your foot is and over the top of the foot) that make the shoe much less flexible and gives it a much tighter fit than previous years' versions of the exact same style. The look is good, I like the dark colors (black, very dark navy), I just wish they hadn't changed the fit so much. I either have to do an exchange for the next half size up or just get a refund because these are too tight.

Fits the size of my foot. I ordered a 9 wide. However there was this rubbery strap that goes across the joints of my toes that was so tight that it was painful. Even ordering up a size would not have helped this. Beautiful shoe but bad design. Buy a different shoe!!! If its sold as a wide it should be a wide!

I love New Balance Minimus. Just received my second pair about 2.5 weeks ago. This style is different from last pair; it fits way smaller (still gave this shoe 5 stars). No worries... Zappos' return policy is a snap; I will simply return and request a larger shoe. I have never been unhappy with their customer service.

Like everyone else, I was ECSTATIC when this model of shoe returned!!! When NB changed the design of the Minimus, I was crushed... they just weren't the same. I wore my last pair out until there was literally no tread at all on the soles but I still couldn't throw them away. I can finally retire them for good now. I bought two pairs to get me started and will probably buy another one or two in a couple of months when I can afford them again, just in case (gasp!) they go away again. It'll be like my super secret Doomsday supply. Even though they are trail shoes, I use them exclusively for street running (3-14 miles) and just everyday life. I. LOVE. THESE. SHOES.

Love these shoes! I'm not a runner, well, not really, but I do a lot of walking/hiking. The sole has just enough oomph to it to shield the bottom of the feet from rocks and such. Great wide toe box. Easy to lace snugly around the arch and narrow part of the foot and still have a lot of room for the toes to spread out. Great shoe

Love these shoes!! I've had trouble rolling my ankles frequently with other athletic shoes, but not with these. It is not because they offer support where other shoes don't, its because these shoes don't put a bunch of foam between my foot and the pavement. They are very light and very comfortable, although the back of the heel rubs a little on the achilles tendon. These are great to workout in, but realize that they are very different than other shoes and you need to slowly increase the amount of time/activity in these shoes so your feet and calves can adjust. I wear a very light pair of sock with them and have no trouble, but they are fine to wear without socks as well. If you do, your feet will smell because there is nowhere for the moisture to go. Spray the inside of the shoe with a very dilute mixture of white vinegar and plain water after you wear them, and prop the shoe open somewhere with good air circulation. The vinegar kills the bacteria that cause the smell, and dries without any vinegar smell.

I have owned other version of the New Balance Minimus and find this one to run quite small in comparison; it's a very snug fit around your foot. The toe box is decently stretchy and almost feels like you're wearing a slipper while the mid foot through the heel are snug. I went up a full size from what I normally wear in the end because I wanted room to wiggle my toes without being restricted by the somewhat stretchy fabric. I have a very square toe box and typically struggle to find shoes wide enough for my foot and these actually are wide enough for my odd-shaped feet! Hurray!

I love these shoes. I have many pairs of Minimus and love the look and the lighter weight . The Vibrum souls guarantee comfort and durability. I love the low profile style and appreciate the sizing (I wear a 10.5 wide) and the fit is perfect. I'm no runner but wear these shoes for everyday wear and hiking. I highly recommend them.

Thanks to all the reviewers for size guidance of the new Minimus version. I have been through 4 pairs of the old version. I was always a 10 M. The older versions either wore thru the bottom; bottom soles flapped off; upper peeled from lower at toe; and the latest old version ran small. This new version is narrow and 1/2 size short so now I am a 10.5 W. They have improved the sole wrapping on the tread so it's 1 piece and more flexible. Comfortable right out of the box.

I've been wearing these in a size 9.5 for a week now, and I've never been so conflicted about sizing!! I had the old version (WR10v2) that I've worn since early 2014 and was super excited to see this new version. I'm a solid size 8.5, and my old versions were 8.5. Reviews all said to size up for this new version, so I got a 9. My toes still bumped the tops and I wasn't sure I should keep them, so I exchanged for a 9.5. I was so sure this was a good decision, because they felt good out of the box, but now a week later I'm wondering if I should have stuck with the 9's?? They're much stiffer than my old ones were and seem to require a little breaking in. Bottom line - everyone's right, you gotta size up like crazy for these. So weird. Overall though, they feel just like my old ones and I still love them. Much more comfortable than Vivobarefoots for the minimal shoe-wearer.

I'm not a runner but I bought these shoes to wear on walks at the park and for my standing desk at work. My arch is neutral, not high but not flat footed either. Normally, the outer edges of my feet tend to hurt when I walk for longer distances but after 2 days of wear in these NB shoes, I have zero complaints and just breaking them in. I normally wear a 7.5 in casual shoes and an 8 in sneakers or running shoes. I got an 8 and they fit great.

I bought 2 pairs of these shoes, because I love the way they fit. They are narrow, but so is my foot....so it's a perfect fit for me. Very minimal support, so I mainly use them for races, or mountain runs under 20 miles. Best shoe I've worn in awhile.

These shoes fit a half size small. I exchanged my normal size for a half size bigger and they fit great. I have wide feet and it is nice that they come in wide. They are very grippy on most surfaces though not on tile. For some reason they are like ice skates on tile floor.

My husband has worn the Minimus for years, has purchased multiple pairs, and it's the only "gym" shoe he wears to work out in and wears them on a daily basis. I decided to give them a try; however, I ended up purchasing 3 pairs in different sizes. I'm always a size 9 Nike sneaker no matter what style; however, I wear an 8 1/2-to-9 street shoe. That being said, I ordered the 9 Minimus in the "Tornado/Storm Blue". This shoe seemed tight to get into and a bit short, as well as the color was a teal rather than a true blue color. So, I then ordered a 9 1/2 Black. This shoe seemed a bit too large, like a 1/2 size too big. Lastly, I ordered a size 9 Black Minimus and it fits perfectly. So my guess is that the shoe last that is used to make the Tornado/Storm blue shoe is smaller than that used to make the Black shoe. I've now worn the 9 Black/Thunder to the gym a couple times (without socks even!!) and have been really happy with the fit, comfort, and overall look of the shoe. Thank you Zappos for having such a great shipment/return policy!!!

I am very happy with these running shoes. I am using one pair now and I bought 2 more pairs because I want to have a replacement ready to go. I especially like the way the heels of my feet remain secure in the shoe. Thanks to all the other runners who left positive descriptive reviews for these shoes. I only run about 50 miles a week and it’s always on trails. No pavement running. I had to buy one size up from my regular shoe size for this running shoe. I have completely flat feet. No arches at all. Most running shoes cause a lot of pain and they take weeks to break in. These shoes were perfect on the very first day. No pain. Light weight. Prefect. P.S. I am not a fan of negative reviews when you bought the wrong size shoe. Zappos has free shipping and free returns so why do you leave negative reviews ? Get the right size shoe and then leave your review. No ? Have a great day running :)

I love these shoes. Ordered a size larger and I’m glad I did. Also, the wide is snug on one foot because of a bunion and it would help if the cross band was a bit more flexible. Overall great shoe.

These are the best sneakers I have ever owned! I now have two pairs and my adult daughter loves the pair I bought for her. I walk barefoot several miles a day indoors and I wanted a sneaker that would give me a similar experience but protect my feet outdoors. This was the best choice for me and I am thrilled to have found them! I have read others' reviews about how flexible and free this sneaker is and so appreciated their reviews. I have walked on rough stony surfaces (a size of stone in between boulders and pebbles and would not recommend them for that type of walking as my foot would slide in the shoe and my ankle would tilt uncomfortably.) But that is not a criticism of the shoe, it's more about choosing the right shoe for the activity. This sneaker is like a dance shoe in its flexibility and unrestrictive sole, making it a great choice for walking and I would suspect jogging, though I use it for walking mostly.

I was so happy to see that NB brought this shoe back!! While it’s not for everyone (called minimalist for a reason), if you are familiar with this type of shoe, you’ll love. Some comments indicated that the sizes ran small, so I ordered an additional half size up. No need. I found that my regular NB 8 was perfect (I’m 7.5 in other brands). Love this shoe!

I’m a bit frustrated with New Balance. This shoe is not true to size. I had to size up, my normal running shoe size was crazy snug. The larger shoe then stretched out quite a bit and now it’s only good with thick socks. Not terrible as it was 20F on my last run, but it’ll warm up eventually. We’ll see if I end up getting the smaller size and attempting to stretch those for a better fit.

I loved this sho3 right out of the box, BUT whatever that part that comes up the Achilles’ tendon? Too high, too much curve. I got the starts of a blister in 5 minutes! Going back, sadly.
