I bought these shoes for my 14 year old son, who was very wide feet. They fit him great. He said they have great support and feel great.

I was running on New balance 860v8 shoes recently, and tried to replace those shoes. No luck, the 860v8 were discontinued. I purchased their next newest model the 860v9. I was not satisfied with the over all quality and construction. So I purchased the 1540v2 with the hope of having a like experience from the 860v8. I use inserts and require a more stable heal. My hope is that these will satisfy my needs. My personal experience with New Balance Running shoes dates back to the early 1980's. Great preforming shoes. And made here in the USA!

Great fit. I had ankle surgery and needed a stable shoe that looked less orthopedic than other shoes. Will buy again.

My feet are built to cause pain when running or even walking swiftly over a long distance. i have pretty aggressive orthotics to help position my midfoot better but without a close, firm heel counter to hold my heel during pronation, i ended up with horrible shin splints the first couple years I ran and weeks of PT to break up scar tissue at the bottom of both tibias. I tried stabilization and motion control shoes by Saucony, Salomon, Brooks and Merrell, but none have come through for me like New Balance. None of them offered a narrow width, which i needed, and my heel was never held fast no matter how tightly i lace up. After three pairs of New Balance 990s over the years, which even in a regular width were better than any of the preceding, i ordered the 1540v2 in narrow width, and after only 3 weeks over 10-mile distances, my feet and knees are thanking me for it. I just wish the New Balance showrooms like 5th Ave here in NYC stocked the narrow widths!

I use these shoes for walking and running. After two weeks, my feet and knees feel good. I'm happy with the stability and comfort of the shoes. I wear firm arch supports . Good so far!

The 1540 is a GREAT SHOE for comfort and support. My only negative comment is the cost.

I went away from New balance for my last pair of shoes, and my feet paid the price. I'm back with the program, and going to stay. Within two days my feet no longer hurt, and now they and I are very happy

Great shoes, perfect fit for my size 13 6E feet/pods. Needless to say this size is hard to find but for them to be quality made and made in the U.S. is a triple win.

I use these for training at the gym. They are built like tanks. They are very comfortable. I like knowing that they were made Massachusetts.

This shoe accommodates my custom orthotics, and is as close to a perfect fit as I’ve found. I like it so much that I bought pairs in all three colors.

I have been using the New Balance brand for over 20 years and love the fit and feel of the shoes. If you have a wide foot and prefer to buy American, New Balance is the best.

Each year for my husband's birthday I buy him a new pair of 1540V2. He walks on the treadmill most every morning for at least 3 miles. Prior to wearing 1540V2 he was beginning to experience knee pain. I fell upon these accidentally. He loves them & absolutely no knee pain. It's about 5 years now that he's been loving these shoes. Expensive but well worth their weight in gold.

I have flat feet, a bone spur, and other foot problems, and this is the only shoe I have found where I have no pain. Been buying the same for years.

I believe I finally found the correct shoe for my needs. I fell off a ladder five years ago and had four surgeries on my heel and foot. I couldn't find a shoe with enough support to alleviate the pain. The 1540V2 finally resolved my pain and allows me to walk long distances again.

The shoe fits just as the product states. I was very impressed as the last is what is important to me and it was perfect. I will really enjoy this shoe!! That is a great idea putting an extra pair of shoe laces in the box in case you are not a fan of black shoe laces.

Recommended by my doctor for use with my custom orthotics. The best support shoe available and it should be for the price. Great shoe in my opinion.
