I have very wide calves and even wide shaft boots do not fit. I had recently tried two other pairs of extra wide shaft boots and they didn't fit, either. These boots fit my calves and even have enough room to tuck in pants! They were comfortable right out of the box and throughout the day. I wore them with thick, cushy socks and my feet still didn't feel cramped. Love these boots. Would like to see them in full suede or full leather.

Wore them once so far and they seem great. Arch isn't wonderful, but not bad. Expensive, so I hope I made the right decision!

The boots arrived in beautiful condition. They are lovely and just as pictured and described. They fit like a dream and I am going to order the same pair in black.

I love these beautiful stylish boots from David Tate. I've got extra wide calves and can never find tall boots to fit me. I bought these and when I got them home, I couldn't believe two things; 1. they actually zipped up for me over my big calves, 2. they were too wide! The width looked huge. But I still gave them 5 stars, as I brought them to a shoe repair place and had them take in so they would not be as wide. They are just beautiful! I can finally be fashionable and wear tall boots for the winter!

The boots are rich brown color, and they fit really good. I have not worn them except in the house, since it is still very hot. I have a 19 inch calf and it is hard to find boots to fit that look nice, can hardly wait for cold weather! by the way I have very narrow feet; but I can wear a medium width in boots, I just wear extra thick socks.

I love this boot. The width and length are excellent, but it is too large around my calf, which surprised and saddened me. The color and feel of the leather and suede are wonderful.

Amazing! For the first time in my adult life, I am wearing a stylish tall boot that fits! Love the calfskin and the suede upper. The pattern, okay, I'd have preferred plain suede, but it doesn't matter. But the fit is like a dream - truly a miracle! My huge calves are leftover from when I weighed a ton (almost 300 pounds more than now) and I've put on a few in the past year and now working to get that extra 25 back off. In any case, back to the review: the zipper just slid right up and the boots fit like a glove. In looking at the boot, it looks very wide in the top part of the boot, but that's the beauty of the design - the shoe part fits great as well. Thank you, everyone that posted reviews. I, too, think the boots are worth every penny. David Tate, please don't change the fit of the boot! I've already received compliments.

Love these boots! I ordered my regular size 9W and they fit Perfectly. I have a pair of faux leather boots with an 18" circumference and was concerned these might be too large, nope. Love them with ever fiber of my boot-wearing-being. Stylish, warm, low heel, gorgeous. In a word: Perfection!

I love this boot. I have very large calves and have never found a boot that fits as well as these and there is actually extra room around my calf in these.

I was concerned they wouldn't fit my calf because I'm a plus size women but they did and i have room to wear with my jeans tucked in. Yaaaaay!!!

These boots are great. Very comfortable and stylish. I ordered a half size up based on other reviews and was glad I did. The wide shaft fits me perfectly. Love them!

I love these boots. It's so hard to find really wide calf boots. My calves are about 19" around. These zipped right up without any problem and they are comfy, not constricting. I normally wear a 9.5-10 depending on the style and brand. Ordered the 10. Plenty of room for my foot, but not slipping around. I wear them with cushy athletic socks. I will be wearing these all winter!

Ordered extra wide shaft and perfect fit! Can't believe they actually fit my short fat calves. Beautiful leather. You won't be sorry.

These fit my feet and calves but are too large at the top and are too high so I took them to a shoe shop to have them shortened by 3/4 -1 inch and have the circumference at the top taken in.

Finally a style that will allow zipping over larger left ankle. Unfortunately calf was huge and clearly I need a larger size foot/width. Comfortable but too snug to wear with socks. Have ordered the larger size and hopefully shoemaker can make calf smaller without it costing me an arm and a leg.

Such a nicely made leather boot, but I just found them to be too wide in the calf for me. I measured the largest part of my calf at 19 inches and still had a gap I didn't like so need to return them. But I'd say give them a try if you have larger calves, they may be perfect for you.

I wanted so badly for these boots to fit. I have a wide calf that measure 18" and these boots were way to wide at the calf. I've never had boots fit too wide. I loved the color, style, etc. If you have wide calves these may be a good fit for you. Many boots say they are wide and don't fit. These really are super wide.

The item is beautiful but I have one calf and ankle which is larger than the other. The left boot fit well, but I can't zipper the right boot past my right ankle.

This boot has a VERY WIDE CALF!!! If you need an extra large calf, this is the boot for you. It was actually too wide for me, I had to send them back. But if you need wide, this is the one.

This was a well made pair of boots. As advertised the calf more than accommodated my 18.5 in calfs. They were actually too large for me to keep. I looked a bit like Frankenstein wearing them. I highly recommend them to try if you struggle with finding boots that fit because these will.

This is the first pair of boots that fit my 18 inch calf with room for pants ( I have not tried them with jeans as of yet.) The leather is very nice, and the boots are comfortable. I wish they had another 1/2 inch and more style, however I am thrilled they fit.

Ordered over the weekend, they arrived Monday. They look like the photo, very basic and plain. I wear a 8 wide, but in boots, I buy a 8 1/2 wide. I injured my leg months ago and the swelling is taking its time going down, so needed a new pair of boots for Winter. It is impossible to find extra wide calf knee high boots. I have searched everywhere. I learned something~ Faux leather and real leather look very similar. Even though these were pricey, they do not look expensive or like leather, but smell like leather and the inside is fuzzy, like the inside of a sweat jacket. I put on with no socks and walked around on the carpet, all seem fine, except when I walk/bend my foot, it bends across the toes. In time through the day, that could begin to hurt. I will put on socks and walk around in the house before I decide to keep or send back. I would suggest you put in a comfy arch support and you should be fine.

Very happy with my purchase- the shaft was wide enough that I can wear these with skinny jeans but not so wide that they look silly.

The leather is high quality & the interior of the boot is very plush, which would be great for colder weather. My calves are about 16.5” right now & the boot was way too roomy in the calf area for my legs.

The shaft was actually wider than I expected and was too big for my healthy calves. They ended up looking a bit too much like pirate boots. I think if the shaft would have been a little more snug and less angular they would’ve fit better. I was sad to have to return them. I’m still looking for another option. I love Zappos for their quick shipping and return policy!
