I've worn different colors of this shoe for work for 18 years. Although a little stiff up front, they relax and shape to your foot. They take a nice shine, and can look new in no time. I only wish I had a cobbler who could replace the soles as it would extent their life 2Xs longer. Perfect for he conservative business man. Oh, and it come in big sizes like 16.

I have not worn J&M shoes for years and as soon as I put on this pair I remembered why I sought them out. Zappos made the process easy.

I have a 13 B foot. The 12 D in this shoe fits me well. The 13 was way too long. This shoe is comfortable and I like the leather outsole. This J&M 12 is longer than my other J&M 12s from 10 years ago.

The Johnson Murphy Melton dress shoes are just great ! They are very high quality providing a perfect fit. I would definitely buy them again. The delivery speed was timely and the value is great.

Narrower than expected - Very well made shoe but they were much narrower than expected. If you have any doubts order the wide.

Perfect right out of the box - I had not bought Johnston & Murphy shoes in a long time, and I was impressed with the appearance and construction. These shoes were extremely comfortable right out of the box.

Simple, black, perfect - Just a great all around lace up. Little detailing makes it fit right out of the box. Very classy, good all leather sole so you can take them to the cobbler when you need them reworked.

Great essential business shoe - This shoe is true to size. If you need width this is an excellent choice. Beware that the beautiful full grain leather is somewhat stiff and there will be a break in period that will prove to be well worth it. If you are in an environment that requires business dress this is a must in your shoe stable.

These shoes are very comfortable. Just the right style for the look I wanted. Hard to find large sizes that are also narrow, and Johnston & Murphy always has the size and style I need.

Satisfied Again - I needed a pair of dress shoes and have always liked Johnston & Murphy shoes. I like their style, comfort, and durability. When I received my shoes, they looked better than I thought they would. When I tried them on, they felt broken in as if I'd had them forever. I love them. When it came time to purchase my shoes, it was automatic that I would go straight to Zappos and order with total confidence. I knew that I might be able to buy them for less somewhere, but when it came to service and dependability, price was secondary. Thanks Zappos!

Very nice shoe - This shoe has a very clean look. I ordered a 9.5 which I thought felt more like a 10, but it still fits, so I'm keeping it. I'm very happy with these.

It is a beautiful and comfortable shoe that seems true to size.

Professional Shoe - This shoe does the job to complete a professional suit attire. Style, comfort, and quality in its character.

Dress shoes - I needed dress shoes for an event on a Saturday. My local department store didn't have a width narrower than D. I got onto Zappos one evening and voila! Two pair of the shoes were on my doorstep the next morning. I normally wear a B width, but ordered both B & C because a former review said that the B felt narrow than normal. I did end up keeping the C width pair.

Perfect comfort - Nice shoes. Very nice finish. Even in a big size, 13 EEE, they don't look overly big and bulky.

Cuts into ankle - Good fit, width and length. Only problem is that the sides are high enough to start rubbing and eventually cutting into the bottom of the outside ankle.

My best Christmas gift - I bought these shoes for my brother who is an educator and spends a lot of time on his feet and doesn’t have the money for great shoes. I own 4 or 5 pairs of Johnson& Murphy’s some of which I’ve had for 10 or more years. They truly are fantastic.

Johnston and Murphy - no surprise - You are never surprised when purchasing a shoe from this manufacturer. The quality is always good and the fit is always good (if you order the right size). I have been wearing their shoes for over twenty years - in fact I have had them refurbished at the factory. Taken care of, these shoes last three or four times longer than others.

Classic and well made pair of shoes - I bought two pairs of the Melton style. As soon as I opened the boxes I was struck by the smooth finish and classic look of the shoes. Because of the shape of this particular shoe it's very important you get an exact size of your feet, especially the width. I wear them 5 days a week and they get more comfortable each time. Heels and soles are wearing well. I'd recommend them again.

Johnston and Murphy Dress Shoe - Great looking. Not the most comfortable shoe but very dressy.

Nice shoe - Have owned a lot of J&M's, Cole Haan's, and Allen Edmonds. J&M's Optima system is by far the most comfortable footbed I've found in a dress/executive shoe. This particular shoe was true to width, but easily a half size larger than marked. Also, the sheen was almost a matte finish, not quite as glossy as in the photo, but a little polish fixed that right up. I bought black, own a very similar Cole Haan in cordovan, this shoe is superior in comfort, breaking in pretty nicely after a day at the office. So much cheaper than comparable AE's, I'm a big J&M fan. First time buying from Zappos, will never buy dress shoes elsewhere again.
