Loved these shoes until both of them started to get huge holes in the bottoms after only a few months. Only wear them about twice a week and I now have 2" holes on the bottom of both shoes. Never had this kind of thing happen to any other shoes my entire life. Very diisappointed.

These shoes are almost unwearable because of the marks left on dark-colored carpeting. Something is coming off the bottom of the shoes. This happens with all three pairs I purchased. I will probably need to return them if the problem doesn't stop.

The tongue is sewn to the inside at the top. If you have a high instep like me this does not work at all. It is too bad since the insole felt very nice.

Shoes scuff and scar far too easily. Leather is poor quality.

Sloppy workmanship and poor quality control: right shoe tongue sewn so it strikes first metatarsal. This shoe is unwearable. The left is constructed differently so that the tongue is sewn more laterally and thus no pressure and acceptable. For the price of the shoe this is disappointing.

Garbage. Bought them 8 months ago and already got holes in the soles, both of them.

I ordered these shoes in an E width when I tried them on they were narrower than my C width shoes. I was not an E width that is why I am returning them.

When I received these i noticed that there was a small hole in the leather with dry cracked leather around it. I was going to simply order a new pair, but after seeing how extremely thin the actual layer of leather was, I knew these would not be durable. I guess there is a reason these were the cheapest Goodyear welted leather soles I could find. A shame because they are very stylish and felt comfy.

Worst shoes I've ever bought. Seriously. The leather must have come from a cow that had rigor mortis. Stiffest shoes I've ever experienced, and they did not show any signs of breaking in even after wearing them 10 or 12 times for a full day each time. Left bruises on my feet.

I own several pairs of J&M shoes, however the recent models appear to be garbage. Two of mine separated at the sole, poor workmanship. I will move up to a $350-$500 pair of shoes but it will not be J&M.

I used the shoe for travel along with other J&M shoes. This is the newest shoe I have of the ten. Shoe #9 also wore out on the sole and came apart. J&M will not back their shoes. Do NOT buy if you wear dress shoes for travel. Their quality has been sacrificed in order to reduce production costs.

Single least comfortable shoe I've ever worn. I had them on for a day and that was enough. It was like walking around with wooden boxes on my feet. I've had a long, good history with Johnston & Murphy so they'll get one more chance (just one), but definitely not on these shoes.
