The inserts that come with these shoes are too large - they ride up on the inside sides of the shoes. Because of this, I started developing blisters on the sides of my feet halfway through my first jogging session. I'll unfortunately need to return them. If you use your own inserts you probably won't have this issue.

I bought these for an annual trip to Disney and unfortunately, I have to give them a low rating. Last trip I bought New Balance 1260’s and they were outstanding. These however, were extremely disappointing. My feet never hurt at the end of the day with the 1260’s with these my feet started hurting in the middle of the day. By the end of the day I couldn’t wait to get home and take the 940’s off. You pay top dollar for this shoe and it was brutal. I didn’t order the 1260’s this time because of the fact that the last time I ordered them they ran tighter in the width. I originally ordered the 940 in 2E but these too ran too tight and I opted for the 4E which were a bit snug but not tight enough to return (Zappos’s is the best company ever when it comes to returns). So, the 940’s for me were a failure. The last couple of New Balance shoes I’ve bought have failed the test, it is now time to start looking at other brands.

I bought these hoping to replace my Leadville since they quit making them, these seem to hurt my arch more than any other shoe I've tried.

New Balance continues to change the x40, SL2 last, series, sometimes for the better and often for the worse. So it is always a good policy to buy several pairs of this series if you find a good one. This is what I did with the 840v2. I finally wore them out and let my fingers crossed with the 940v3. Unfortunately this series is a bust. It doesn't feel anywhere near as comfortable as possible the 840v2 which I can't find anywhere in my size. The biggest problem is the heel collar which is too low which means your heel is constantly slipping out. Not good for a running shoe. They haven't done anything for arch support which is a constant problem with all running shoes. What you have ultimately is a cosmetically more pleasing shoe with a few buzzword changes but really not a premium running shoe. Quality continues to deteriorate as process continue to climb.

I was a huge fan of the 940v2, the only running shoe I will wear. I think I've bought them at least 7 times. I was excited when they updated them to the v3, which definitely has a more contemporary look. HOWEVER, these shoes simply do not fit like the v2's do. The footbed feels different and less comfortable, the shoe feels narrower towards the middle, and the amount of material around the heel is lower, so my heel keeps slipping out while jogging. Now I am trying to track down and stockpile and v2's I can find because these new shoes simply don't work. Its unfortunate because I love New Balance and it took me a long time to finally find a running shoe that worked so well, and now I guess I gotta start looking again.

Zappos Service was great as usual however the shoe was terrible. The arches are extremely high and make it painful to wear let alone run in. I had been a New Balance fan for many years, after taking a break I thought I would go back. Big mistake!

Walked one time and had to return because the balls of my feet ached after my normal hour walk, I could also use a little more cushion in the heel area. I so wanted a shoe manufactured in USA to work but I'm going back to MBT shoes
I'd also recommend:
MBT Zee but not the Sport unless they improved the soles to last longer.

I am a loyal NB customer since the 1970s. I wear New Balance for my everyday shoe as well as my running. I loved the previous 940v2, but for some reason this new version seemed less comfortable, stiffer. Worse, walking or running for more than a mile left me with a painful blister on one foot under the arch. This may be me rather than the shoe, but I continue to wear my regular NB walking shoes with no problem. So something is not working with this shoe and I'm going to have to return. Aside from the blister problem, I did like the previous version of this model better. I would have given it 5 stars.

This is the first running shoe that I've returned. It is much too wide and the Abzorb seems much stiffer than previous running shoes.

Bought the shoes in hopes that they would be comfortable for work. These shoes where very uncomfortable. The shoe runs large. They where to short at the ankle. Giving it an odd unsupported feel.. my arches hurt after wearing them
