I love this jacket. The color is a really pretty shade of dark blue. It is warm, but quite light-weight and it fits beautifully. I have another North Face jacket which is a mediaum so I originally ordered that size, but it was too big. I returned it and got a small (the next day, of course - thank you Zappos). I am 5''5" and 125 lbs. One thing to note, although the Zappos site doesn't state this, The North Face company website indicates that this jacket is "water repellant". I have worn it in a light rain and it was fine. Since this was a factor that I was looking for when I bought the jacket, I thought it was worth noting.

FEATHERS LEAKING OUT EVERYWHERE!!! I have worn the original North Face Transit jacket as my go-to winter coat for the past 7+ years. It was time for a replacement and I was thrilled to find this updated version which is almost identical to the original. My original jacket is a M and still fits perfectly, but the new version was too tight in M so I had to get a L; not a big deal, but interesting that the sizing has changed. Here's the BIG BUMMER... I wore the jacket for the first time for about an hour, running errands, etc. I noticed something all over my jacket sleeve that looked like dust so I wiped it off. It wasn't dust, it was tiny down feathers...all over my jacket!! Down feathers were literally coming out of the seams, and everywhere else!! So strange! My black jacket looks like it is covered in dust, but it's actually a thin layer of down seeping out of the coat!! My original NF never did this! I own other down coats from top-end makers and they have never had down feathers leaking like this! What is going on?!?! I am SO DISAPPOINTED in the quality of this coat and sadly I have to return it. The fit is great but there is definitely something wrong with the quality!

This is great jacket. It is stylish and keeps me warm , great fit. I am 5.2. 103lb get the size XS.

I had an order issue, but Zappos had excellent customer service and totally took care of things. Great coat. Warm without the weight. I was hoping this would be more of a packable type coat, but still great nonetheless.

I ordered this jacket in Urban Navy - love the color. I also liked that The North Face logo was stitched in the same color as the jacket. The warmth is excellent and the longer length in back covers your backside adequately. As always, Zappos customer service and delivery time is unsurpassed.

I'm 5'3" and live in the northern Rocky Mountains in Montana, and it gets quite cold here (as cold as -35F sometimes, but usually between 0-25F all winter, which lasts 7 months.) I have the Gotham Jacket II, but wanted something a bit longer to keep me more warm. I tried the Arctic Parka and Gotham Parka but felt they were both too long and made me look silly (like a child wearing my mom's clothes, lol). The Transit Jacket II is PERFECT! It covers my hips/rear end without going all the way to my knees. I like how the front is a tad bit shorter so it doesn't seem as long on me. The waist is tapered a bit, which I appreciate as a curvy woman. I wear a Medium in all things TNF and this was no different. It's even a bit more roomy than my Gotham Jacket II in the same size. I've ordered faux fur trim from another website to add some style to the jacket (and I've found a fur lined hood actually helps reflect snow from my face as it's falling!) Thanks for thinking of us short girls, The North Face! Not everyone can wear a 38" long coat.

I love this coat-its warm without being bulky, love the hip length (on me 5’8) good fit, nice style-has kept me warm (new england after the polar vortex)-super happy with this purchase

LOVE this parka! It's so thin, nicely fitted and the shape and length are so flattering. It fits true to size. I got the XS and still have plenty of room for a sweater underneath. I have a short torso and long legs and this style is very good for my body type. Sleeve length is perfect as well. Wore it out on a cold night (last night when it was 38 degrees) with only a tank top underneath and I was toasty warm. This is one of the cutest and warmest parkas I've ever had. I have another North Face with a sweater hem which is much thicker. That one is cute, but I like this one much better! Definitely recommend!

Great coat! Perfect for walking the dog out in rural Nebraska...... It tends to be colder and windy here out in the country! Purchased to leave at the cabin, but missing it in town already! ;)

I was looking for an unusual gift for my mother who turned a spry 85 on February 8th. As she always says, "Given a choice, I will ALWAYS in ALL ways accept a North Face coat!" This women's Transit Jacket is in a class by itself. She wore it to church one Sunday and even the minister's wife had to try it on - just for the heck of it. Simply stated, "It's all that AND a bag of chips!"

I loved this Jacket. Not boxy, looks more feminine. It is plenty warm at the same time superlight weight. I recommend!

I use it as my everyday winter coat. It is warm, sylish, and comfortable. I love the high neck piece since it keeps you warmer, bur the zippers sometimes get stuck and that is a pain. I also love the removable hood.

This coat is great for running around town. It's warm when outside but not too heavy to wear while shopping

It's a great lightweight breathable jacket. Can be worn in cold weather but not in below zero weather. The fit is true to size and true to the pictures shown. Perfect jacket to wear for going in and out from outside to inside and not to long of a jacket.

the jacket fits great and is very flattering! It is very thin, i did not wear it outside so I am not sure how warm it keeps you. I just don't this particular jacket should cost $250. I returned it.

I ordered 2 sizes of this coat. I am 5' and 112 and kept the medium. I don't like my coats so fitted around the waist. I have a larger waist. It is the right length/style and warmth for an all around coat. I have many Northface coats. Love this one!

I first ordered a size M but returned it for L as it was too tight around the bust (I am a 38C bra). The large felt perfect; comfortable with a single layer of clothing, yet plenty room to layer beneath which was important to me because although I live in FL, I bought it for a spring trip to Europe, from Amsterdam to Switzerland. It was so, so comfortable, and with the hood, kept me warm and dry in the wind, rain, and even the snow in the Swiss Alps. Perfect for travel, just the right length to keep you warm, easy to roll up and stuff into a backpack when not needed. Imagine how sad I was when after 16 days of travel, I realized after arriving home the next day that it was nowhere to be found. I believe i must have left it on the plane on the final flight of the trip. I've contacted Uber, the airline, and the airport where I landed with no luck. A reminder to all who travel: Put your name and contact information inside your jacket to make it somewhat easier to be located. I'm afraid, however, that it is such a wonderful jacket that, sadly, whoever found it will not make an effort to return it. This is/was a great jacket, and I plan to replace it with another.

This jacket is so beautifully thick and warm. I was looking for something that was packable and while this is definitely not packable, I love it so much that I’m keeping it. This is the first warm jacket that I’ve found that still shows off my figure and doesn’t look like I’m wearing a trash bag.

Love the jacket, fits perfectly and it's lightweight. I have not had a chance to wear it in the cold weather yet or wash it, but I hope it's good quality. The gray color is very nice.
