Arizona Soft Footbed - Oiled Leather (Unisex)

The Arizona Tobacco soft footbed sandals are my fourth pair of Arizona sandals. I wear size 10 1/2 C width men's dress shoes and Arizona 43 regular soft footbed sandals are a perfect fit. The soft footbed is a bit more narrow than the regular footbed due to added foam padding, ideal for my C width feet. Most new Birkenstock customers buy them too small, not understanding that the footbed is perfectly centered under the foot when there is 1/3 inch of open space in front of the toes and also 1/3 inch behind the heel. I wear Birkenstocks six days a week so the soft footbed Arizona sandals were comfortable right out of the box. They will be even more comfortable in a few weeks after the cork footbed conforms to my feet. If you are new to Birkenstocks, wear them just two hours a day the first week, four hours a day the second week, and add hours week by week until your feet, especially the arch, become adjusted to the high and firm arch support. The tobacco leather is a love or hate style. They are orange/brown with lots of scratches, gouges and distress marks. They are designed to look ten years old out of the box. They will get darker each time you rub in leather conditioner. I like the "beat up saddle leather" look but be warned: the Zappo's website photos do not clearly show that tobacco leather is highly distressed leather.
