Some support shoes do a good job with just that, support. The Gaviota does this and provides great cushioning as well.

A little snug on width but not too bad. Awesome comfort, Full time bedside nurse walking 9+ miles a day. Only wish ankle/collar area had more cushion. I have wide flat feet and overpronation. Definitely helped my foot pain.

My foot doctor recommended Hoka brand to me since I'm on my feet at work a lot and have multiple foot problems. They feel great when I'm on my feet and my feet don't bother me like they did. I have told other about them and they are going to try them. I wish there was a store that carried Hoka closer to my home so I could try them on before buying.

Very comfortable at the end of this ten-hour shift of standing on concrete. I have plantar fasciitis and diabetic neuropathy, making it difficult to find any shoe that feels good by the end of the day, but these are keepers. Looks decent, too. Good arch support and I can tell my foot is in better alignment already instead of rolling into the outside of my foot which I was doing in my old, broken down shoes. Like these much much more than my Hoka Clifton 4, which felt too flimsy from the start. The Gaviota is my new fave.

After having ankle surgery a couple of months ago, my husband had to get shoes that provided more stability. This style of shoe is probably hands down THE MOST COMFORTABLE SHOE he says he has ever owned and keeps his foot/ankle well supported. He says he will have a hard time going back to wearing "dress" shoes to work after having to wear these for an extended period.

This is actually the first pair of running shoes I've ever bought, but I'm training for a half marathon and the pronation on my right foot was killing my hip. This shoe was an instant fix, my hips feel so much better, my heels don't slide around anymore, and I don't feel like I have to compensate for my imbalance. It is heavier than I'm used to, but not terribly so. The best thing about this shoe was that it actually comes in my width! I'm a woman so for me it's rare to find shoes that actually fit me correctly (given up entirely on women's running shoes/sneakers). The only thing is that since I only pronate on one foot, I am developing some blistering on the other but I'll live. It's worth it to feel like I'm not going to fall off the sidewalk.

Went through all the major brands including the Hoka Conquest and Constant. The Gaviotta provides sure footing and wide stance. Feels denser than most of today's feature shoes which offer lightweight but no support or cushioning. I really like this model.

After three ankle reconstruction surgeries and lumbar fusion, I thought my running days were done. I have been unable to even shuffle pain free since leaving for Iraq in '06. Hoka was recommended to me by an ultra-marathoner. So I gave it one last ditch shot. From my first shuffle back on the road to my 10th run now, I am pain free. No ankle pain, no radiating nerve pain, no L5-S1 joint pain. Thanks to Hoka, I can run with my sons before my oldest leaves for college. Thanks, Team Hoka for giving the ability to hit the road again!

I work in a hospital and I am on my feet my entire shift. This is the first time that I have ever had a shoe that my lower back, knee's, and feet have not hurt during or after work. Also by the end of my shift I am not wore out and have energy to still go do something.
