I needed shoes for walking and general fitness and must have shoes to compensate for overpronation. I do NOT run but walk both outside and on the treadmill and after wearing these shoes for a couple of days, my knee pain (from wearing my every day Sauconys) was gone. I have a large size, 12, being that I'm 5'9" and find it difficult to get pretty shoes in my size AND that work for my needs - these fit the bill. My toes do not touch the end of the shoe even while walking vigorously. I was hesitant to spend so much, but after getting the email that Zappos has a 30-day try them out feature, I was so HAPPY! These New Balance are pretty and provide excellent support for over-pronators and if you have this need, you won't be disappointed in these shoes.

These are excellent arch supporting shoes for over pronators. Color combo is pretty cool, and they are comfy. I took them in narrow and they fit just right. New Balance has proven to me over time to be one of the best manufacturers of shoes with best support.

NOTE: I have not had any "running/walking" shoes for about 1 year. So my feet at this time, are sore and hurt. Given that, I purchased these in my regular size (6.5) and got them in wide (D). After probably 5 days my feet began to heal/feel better after spending time of my feet. My feet (specifically my heels) did not ache or hurt to be on as quickly as usual. I was finding relief. AESTHETICS: I like round toe shoe look, and the colors. Wish there were more fun color options, but at least the didn’t just have black or white. FUNCTIONALITY: Breathability with the mesh. Due to a medical condition, my feet get super hot at odd times (like menopause of the feet - ha), so I like the breathability of these. Using socks that breath helps too :). These offer help with my over-pronation, needing stability and some arch support to keep my foot from leaning in. I will get my own orthotics to add to this feature. Heel has cushioning. Round toe box gives me room in the toe box, which I like a lot to be able to wiggle my toes. USE: I am not a runner. I’m a walker (although not an everyday cardio walker at this time). I do not have a vehicle, live in the city, and I use public transportation or walk for errands and appointments which I have probably every day of the week (except weekends). I also take stairs often. SIZING: I purchased these in my regular size (6.5) and got them in wide (D). As I'm getting older I find that my feet have "spread" out and the natural swelling that happens leaves me needing more room. I'm super glad that NB offers wide and extra wide now in many of their shoes. I found that the only issue for me was that the "bunion" bone the shoes seems to be tight - you could tell by looking at them they were tight. I knew they would not last as long as I was hoping. I ended up returning and purchasing in the extra wide (EE), and now there is room in that area so as to not look tight/feel tight. DURABILITY: I feel that the shoes are not made of cheap materials compared to other NB I've tried recently, so I feel these are a good investment for me. They are not too lightweight (like the foam shoes) but not heavy. PERSONAL FIT: I found that the only issue for me was that the "bunion" bone the shoes seems to be tight - you could tell by looking at them they were tight. I knew they would not last as long as I was hoping. I ended up returning and purchasing in the extra wide (EE), and now there is room in that area so as to not look tight/feel tight. I am very hopeful to use these as my day to day footwear when walking to and from my errands and appointments. The arch support feels good (not flat and not flimsy in that area) I will be getting my own orthotics however, as I am an over-pronator (which these are suited well for per the site). OTHER: I know it's ideal to have more than one pair of walking shoe, so when I can save up I will get either another pair of these or look at another shoe from NB to alternate out. FINAL: I think these are worth giving a try to see if they work for you. If you do have a larger foot/swollen feet, I would recommend doing the extra wide (EE), but as we all know - it depends on your own feet. Zappos return policy is great, so you can have the chance to try out a shoe.

Stylish, comfortable and good for both the gym and kicking around town. The original insoles don't have much arch support, so I replaced them (as I usually do with all my athletic shoes). But the shoe itself is excellent.

This is my third pair of these shoes in gray. I love the fit-they are comfortable and the color flatters many other colors. I can wear them all day without foot discomfort. I have never had trouble with a clunking sound when walking, and I feel they are well made.

I love these sneakers so much that I bought two pair in black. I have all kinds of foot problems, walk many miles a week, and take several exercise classes. My orthotics fit perfectl. They have a comfortable toe box so that my toes don't get squished. Definitely worth trying if you're on the fence.

I have had these shoes for over a year and I walk 3 miles on a treadmill 4 times a week. These shoes have held up better than any other I have had. I am an avid Asics wearer but I have to admit these are better than my Asics.

My daughter has extremely wide feet, and these shoes were a lifesaver. They have cute details and don't look too clunky, even at the extra wide width. They seem to fit her fine so far, even with the Superfeet inserts (although the inserts for a size 8 shoe are too small for the size 8 shoe we bought, so we had to get bigger inserts). I recommend this shoe if you have wide feet!

I am a New Balance fan and these shoes do not disappoint. I have had surgery on both feet and these shoes offer just the right amount of support. The upper is not the soft mesh like a lot of the New Balance styles but there’s enough mesh to still allow for a soft feel.

I wear orthotics and these shoes accomadate them very well. The insoles that come with the shoes do have a nice arch and good support but I have a severe pronation problem so use my own orthotics.

I really like the style and color, and it is very comfortable. I have a difficult time buying shoes, several problems like plantar fascitis, tendonitis, etc etc, also have a high arch. I have been having to purchase shoes in the wide width, and wear pedag inserts. With this shoe, however, I am able to wear a medium width, and am finding it comfortable so far without my inserts.

I decided to try this shoe because I read that it was good for over-pronated ankles and, important for me, I could get it in narrow. I paid more than I usually do for a pair of athletic shoes, but it was worth it. In fact, I ordered another pair almost immediately. This are very comfortable and my feet feel very secure. My only problem is that I also wear orthotics and they squeak something terrible in this shoe. Yes, I've tried the talcum powder remedy, and it hasn't worked. But the shoe is so comfy I often wear them without the orthotics, at least for short periods of time, and it's been great.

I’ve ordered this shoe a couple times now, it’s my favorite running shoe. Recommended by a Dr, and I haven’t deviated since! I had a problem with the threading coming out in past after a couple months, and of course Zappos did a full refund of the shoes!

This is a very comfortable, supportive and attractive sneaker for exercise and for going out and about. I need stability control and this sneaker has that. As soon as I put the sneaker on my feet were ready to exercise. I like this sneaker so much that I bought another pair in the pretty blue.
