My foot measures a size 8, and I take a size 38 in Birkenstocks. My very first pair I followed the recommended sizing and got a 39. Even though they looked to be the right length for my foot, the arch was too long for me and my heel didn't even sit in the heel cup. In order for Birkenstocks to feel comfortable you have to make sure the arch is the right length, your heel sits down in the heel cup, and the toe bar is in the right place! If one of those things is off no amount of "breaking in" will make them comfortable for you. That being said, even when you have the proper size they can still take some getting use to if you haven't been using aggressive arch supports. Going from something with little to no arch support to Birkenstocks are a HUGE adjustment and you should start off wearing them only an hour or so the first day. The next day try increasing it by another hour and so on, until you have worked up to wearing them all day. If you have the proper size and the arch, heel cup, and toe bar are properly aligned on your foot, I promise you these will feel completely different after a week or two versus how they felt the first day wearing them. They do "break in" a bit too, as your body heat helps the cork footbed to slightly mold to your foot giving you an even more comfortable feel. And the straps seem to relax a bit too, so you may need to adjust them after a week or so if they start feeling a bit loose.

Seriously in love with these Birks. I have been a Birkenstock fan for years and I love the support for my feet in the summer. The new color on the sole looks awesome and current.

Very comfortable in the "regular" width. I have other pairs of Birkenstocks from back in the day and they last forever. The color combo on these is gorgeous. The buttery cream is perfect. Can be dressed up or down. They don't look to "earthy" for those of you afraid of the Birk stereotype.

Love the sandals! Super comfortable. I normally wear a 9.5/10 in US (women) so the sizing is a bit off with the European conversion. I have narrow feet and they fit great! I could see it being a problem for people with wide feet.

I love the fit in general, but I wish Birkenstock would make a women's wide.

Love them! Was looking for something in white. I alinost bought the white patent ones by mistake - I wanted the leather. I wasn’t crazy about the white soles at first. I thought they would look dirty after awhile, but they seem to be fine. I am use to wearing flip flops so the toe did not bother me. I was able to break them in pretty quickly. I really do like how the white looks in the summer with shorts or skirts. Great purchase!

The style was great...looked good on my foot. But the plastic between the toes was torturous. No way to break in hard plastic. Had to return.

The size fit but I literally got sores between my toes. The plastic thong is a killer between the toes. Not sure it will get better. I have tried a couple of times now!

I ordered 37 which is supposed to fit women’s 6-6.5, they were way too big they fit more like the 38 which I currently own?? Was wondering if the sizing was incorrect on the shoe. My actual shoe size is a 7 or 71/2 so confused? Please help

This was a bummer because I love birkenstocks. But, my standard size (which is the same size always, for like 20 years), when it arrived, was really big, so I returned them and ordered the smaller size, which is too small...then I kept,them, as I thought they would stretch a bit, like birkenstocks do, but alas, they are so uncomfortable....such a wa$te of money...and I had wanted them for so long, so they sit in my closet while I try to find a friend with tiny feet to pass them on

Warning—Yellow footbed! These seemed fine right out of the box; the cork looked slightly yellower than my pair last year but thought they were just new. But after wearing a couple hours, the bottoms of my feet were bright yellow and it had even rubbed off onto the inside of the white upper. Bad batch? No idea.

I really didn't like these shoes. I think I had some dream about Birkenstocks that they were extremely comfortable but these were not. The thong sandal gave me a blister between my toes immediately, and I must have tripped in these shoes a million times. I would return them but I threw away the box in my excitement of having the shoes my mother once had and well now I guess I'm just stuck with them.

I've been buying these sandals for years in various colors and they never disappoint. They are beautiful and comfortable. I can (and have) walk for miles in them!

AMAZING! My third pair of Gizeh, which I do believe is my favorite Birkenstock style. Love how secure they feel on my foot; I don't have to scrunch up my toes to keep them on.

Birkenstock is my favorite on the go slipper this is my 6th pair . The fit is perfect ? and the style is beautiful I get a lot of compliment. It's pricey but its all worth it .

These fit perfectly and molded to my feet after about a week of breaking in.

I usually wear 6.5 W. I ordered 37 and fit perfectly. My feet never get tired!

White is great for the summer. I wear a size 8- 8.5, but 38 in Birkenstock fits me perfectly
