I bought these for my son to wear to school (required for his uniform). At first he was a little concerned that they were kind of clunky, but they fit perfectly. His feet run wide with a high instep and these are fantastic. And so far they are wearing very well.

These shoes are very nice. They look stylish and are comfortable. They are very well made and last.

I bought these for my four-year-old son. I was having trouble finding good-quality leather dress shoes for him in local stores. These shoes are very nicely made, sturdy, and well-padded. He has worn them once so far, and of course, scuffed the toes like crazy. The good news is the leather polished up great, so I know these shoes will last and look good for a long time. Just what I was looking for! He says they're comfortable, but quite as fast as his gym shoes.

I am very happy with these shoes and more importantly so was my 6 year old. The are holding up well even to the abuse of being scraped on the pavement during recess and him walking on the back not putting them on correctly - so they are well made!

My boys need a plain toe, black shoe to wear for German folk dancing, and this shoe serves for church and as a nicer casual shoe. I appreciated that the shoe was available in wide sizes, and after several months of regular wear, it is holding up well. Every time I try to compromise on quality to save money, I find cheaper dress shoes start peeling and flaking before they are even outgrown. The leather on these is a good value, and I will probably be able to pass them down when outgrown.

My son has worn this brand of shoe to school for three years in a row. Every fall he has to get used to wearing them - they are leather so need to be broken in and he uses a shoe horn to put them on. We need wide sizes in our family and he has always been comfortable in these. They are sturdy; last the whole school year. If his feet weren't growing he would still be able to wear his old pair. The shoelaces are the "dress" kind that are thin and round. When he was younger we got new laces because they weren't long enough for him to tie a double knot. Bottom line - every year when I ask him he says, "Yeah get the same shoes."

This looked like a very sturdy shoe with a good insole. However, it turned out to be very stiff and hard for my grandson to get on. We decided to try another style. The finish on the leather wasn't as shiny as the picture portrays. The leather looked more like fake leather.

Nice shoe but a bit stiff and less padding inside than the Hushy Puppy TY and Chad styles. Tried it because others rated it for the wear, but for the same price I don't see the value in this shoe over the Hush Puppy.

Ordered these in time for the holidays. My son wore them for the first time on Thanksgiving - had them on the entire day with no complaints at all. They're very padded and comfortable, if not just a little clunky for kids whose feet seem to grow faster than they're used to! Second year purchasing these shoes - they definitely do the job for a comfortable dress up shoe for kids.

Ordered for a wedding for my son to wear. They seem to run small; I couldn't get his heel into the size that he should have worn! We wound up having another pair that fit better, but I liked the look of these and wished they had fit. It did feel like the heel counter was really stiff and narrow, though.

This was the only wide dress shoe available in my son's size. The fit is fantastic. The material looks a bit cheap. But it did the job and looks great with his suit.

Great shoes. Only complaint is that they are not very breathable at all -- even with thin socks your feet will get sweaty.

Perfect church show/Looks good/a little "harder" and "stiffer" than my son likes, but they look great with khakis and is one of the few dress up shoes that comes in a wide.

These are great shoe, with lots of cushioning. My son loves them and does not complain about putting on his dress shoes.

I needed boy’s dress shoes in a wide width for my sons. I bought the Hush Puppies, Florsheim Kids, and School Issue to compare (the only options in wide width). Both boys picked the Hush Puppies as most comfortable. The insole has great cushioning. The Florsheim was a close second choice. The School Issue had a very firm insole with minimal cushioning, and the leather looked plasticky.

My son says they’re so comfortable. The problem with these are they show wear sooo quickly and easily We are on or 2nd pair in 4 months. Material is pretty cheap

I ordered both this and the Stride Rite Taft to compare for my 9 year old. Although he said the shoe was nicely padded inside it was not as roomy in the toe box and the shoe hit and rubbed against the ankle bone. We kept the Taft and sent these back.

This shoe was really stiff and uncomfortable for my son. It did not feel like good quality leather. Also really clunky looking. Sending back.

The shoes were so stiff and hurt my sons feet. He wont wear them after one use! Waste of money.

My son has a wide feet and has his dorsum of feet slightly prominent, so there was not enough room on the top of his feet with this shoes. Nothing like New balance. So...returning it.

This show was very stiff and looked more like plastic than leather. My child said they hurt at the heel, so we are returning.

These were very stiff and uncomfortable. My son won't wear them so we're returning. They do look nice, but it doesn't really matter if they are uncomfortable. They also seem to run small.

I don't understand why this shoe is getting such good reviews. They look great in the picture but incredibly cheap in person. My son thought that they were uncomfortable as well. They are going back.

This shoe was extremely stiff. My 11-year old did not like it at all. Looked like a plastic shoe.

My son couldn't get the wide shoe on his (admittedly wide) foot, so I can't comment on the rest of the shoe. So sad!
