These are the almost the only shoes that I have worn for like thirty-five years. I always wear the same size, which is a smaller size than I wear in other shoes. But because I wear these shoes all the time, it feels more like the *other* shoes are sized too big! But in the last few years a real problem has emerged with these shoes. Lately the sole has been separating from the main part of the shoe (sorry I'm not a shoe technology expert!) on literally every single pair that I have owned. This has happened on literally every single pair that I've owned long before the tread goes bad or there are holes in the canvas or cracks in the rubber. I think they switched up the glue at some point in the last five to ten years. Whatever change they made, though, it has really taken its toll on the quality of the shoe. I regret to say that I can no longer recommend, and may not even continue to purchase, Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars.

So the size 13s were about the right length but the width is too narrow for me. Disappointing but not a surprise. The shoes looked OK but my smallest/fifth toes felt like they were in a vice. I am keeping the size 14s to wear when lifting but not to wear around the general public since they do look like clown shoes on me and I'm returning the 13s. I believe a 13 1/2 would be good, maybe. If they ever start making them I'll gladly give them a go.

Liked a lot about this shoe - classic styling, narrow feel, availability in 1/2 sizes above size 10, etc. But it was just not supportive enough in the arch and the foot rolled inward. Ended up keeping a different, more supportive Chuck Taylor.

My high heels, my sneakers, my sandals and my flip-flops are all size 9. My cowgirl, my ski and my fashion boots are all size 8.5. Upon reading the reviews, I ordered a size 8.5. It was so big it felt like a 9.5 and it looked on my feet like a size 10 :( I ordered a different color but in size 8 and that was actually true to size, it felt like an 8. It was killing my feet. I loved the pink color but it seems Converses are not for me because they just don't fit right; their size is either way too big or painfully small...

12 year old daughter loves the look of this shoe, but it has almost no footbed cushion and no arch support. Even though it's a high-top, the canvas is so thin there is little ankle support as well.

Converse haven't changed since I was a kid. I couldn't wear them and neither can my daughter. She has flat, wide feet. She so much wanted these to fit because they are adorable. Alas, they didn't and we returned them.

This is a great shoe. My son has been wearing them for almost 6 years. The downside is they don't last long. The shoe starts to break at the seams. We've bought about 2 a year even though my son just wears them to school.

Love these sneakers but my feet are just too wide, I don't think converse are the right brand for me. I wish they made wide widths, or even made their normal width a bit wider as I don't wear wide in any other brand.

It'll tell you to order a size larger than normal but don't do that!! Order the size you normally wear and it should fit just fine

Classic shoes with minor but notable problems. As most say, they run big, so you can order a full size less than normal and likely be okay. One thing I've noticed with the high-top Chucks in particular is they sometimes make a dopey sound when you walk. This is not too fun and doesn't seem to happen with the low-tops. This noise doesn't always happen, but when it does, it is hyper annoying. Anyway, people (including me) will probably keep buying Chucks until the end of time, even though they're not perfect.

I guess I have to accept the fact that I just can't pull off Converses. They look like clown shoes on my feet. They're of canvas, so if it rains you're screwed. You'll be walking around with soaked feet for the rest of the day, and they'll be damp for a couple more days at the least. Also, there is absolutely NO arch support. Not the most comfortable shoe in the world, that's for sure. They are surprisingly durable, though--I've had mine for close to three years, and they just now are starting to fall apart.

Purchased these for my Grandson. This is the 3rd pair of the same shoe I have ordered for him. He likes the look and finds them comfortable enough. These are sized different so we have to order a size down from his normal size. Since his last pair was a mess he started to wear them right away. When I next saw him he told me this pair was a cheaper Knock Off. The Converse logo on the size is much thinner and he found the shoe was somewhat cheaper made. It was too late to return since he had worn them but I was very disappointed since I have been a long time customer of Zappos. I took a couple of photos but this site does not have the feature to post them.

These look great but I don't know why Zappos tells you to order a half size down. I did and the shoes are too tight. Almost uncomfortably so but livable. Next time I order Chucks I stick with my own size.

I'm probably just too picky, but I didn't find these comfortable at all. I'm not one to suffer through uncomfortable shoes, so maybe after 3 months they're better, but I'm not interested in finding out.

Kind of like walking barefoot. These don't really provide foot support or padding. They do seem to help with the ankle. Would be nice if these weren't the only high top shoes in my size on the entire site. I found a "vintage" aka 'made in USA' pair and they're nearly twice as heavy. I would be nice if these were made from a heavier canvas and rubber. I'm not too sure they'll last too long. Also the monochrome black seems to be a rarity, my work shoes have to be as solid black as possible.

Just the look my teen was after... but Converse are uncomfortable shoes. The shoe seemed to exacerbate my son's Osgood Schlatter's (growing pains)... So he is only allowed to wear them twice a week. True to size.

I should have returned for another size, but had to wear them to really find out whether they would fit or not. Too bad you can't find out which country your shoes will be manufactured, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, India and so on, because they will all fit different in the same size. I find China to be the one that fits best for me.
