How do I join Zappos VIP?

A:

It’s free to join, simply join here. You can also email or live chat us or call us 24/7 at 1-866-427-2246! You can also enroll when you log into your existing Zappos account or when you register for a new Zappos account. Zappos may automatically enroll certain customers in Zappos VIP, however, all customers (including auto-enrolled customers) must accept the Zappos VIP Terms and Conditions (“VIP Terms”) before they can participate in Zappos VIP, including earning and redeeming “VIP Points” for “VIP Codes” or receiving any other Zappos VIP benefits.

Who is eligible to participate in Zappos VIP?

A:

You must be a United States resident who is at least 18 years old to participate in Zappos VIP. Current Zappos employees and contractors, and their immediate family members living in the same household, are not eligible to participate in Zappos VIP. All eligible customers are more than welcome!

VIP Points

Q:

How do I earn VIP Points?

A:

At this time, you can earn 1 VIP Point per $1 spent on qualifying purchases of merchandise on Zappos.com. In addition, you can earn points through what we call “Promotional Activities” by writing eligible product reviews on Zappos.com, linking your Amazon Prime membership to your Zappos VIP membership, and participating in sales promotions that offer opportunities to earn bonus points (see more information on Promotional Activities below). Keep your eyes open for new, fun ways to earn VIP Points in the future!

Q:

How can I use VIP Points?

A:

You can redeem your VIP Points for VIP Codes, which can be applied toward future purchases on Zappos.com. Every 100 VIP Points awarded to your Zappos VIP membership (“VIP Membership”) can be redeemed for a $1 VIP Code. VIP Codes are only issued in whole $1 increments with a maximum amount per VIP Code of $100. You also may use your VIP Points for other purposes as may be provided by Zappos from time to time. VIP Points accumulated under Zappos VIP are promotional in nature and have no cash value.

How can I see my VIP Point balance?

A:

You can view your VIP Point balance by logging into your Zappos account. You can also check your VIP Point balance by emailing or live chatting us or by calling us 24/7 at 1-866-427-2246. You also may periodically get a VIP Point balance email from us.

Q:

Is there a limit on how many VIP Points I can earn?

A:

There is no limit on the number of VIP Points you can earn by making qualifying purchases but there IS a limit on the total number of VIP Points you can earn by participating in all other qualifying opportunities to earn VIP Points, such as logging into your account on Zappos.com or writing eligible product reviews. We refer to these other qualifying opportunities to earn bonus VIP Points as “Promotional Activities.” You can only earn a maximum of 25,000 VIP Points per calendar year for participating in Promotional Activities. Once you have earned 25,000 VIP Points for participating in Promotional Activities in a calendar year, you may continue to participate in Promotional Activities but you will not receive VIP Points for your participation.

Q:

When will my earned VIP Points be reflected in my account?

A:

We will use commercially reasonable efforts to award VIP Points earned for qualifying purchases to your Zappos VIP Membership within 24 hours of purchase. VIP Points earned for eligible participation in Promotional Activities may take seven (7) or more days to be added to your Zappos VIP Membership.

Q:

Do my VIP Points expire?

A:

Each November, or at other times during the year at our discretion, we will automatically convert all unredeemed VIP Points under your VIP Membership into VIP Codes. If for any reason Zappos does not automatically convert unredeemed VIP Points, the VIP Points will expire one (1) year from the date they are earned. Automatically converted VIP Points and expired VIP Points are deducted from your VIP Point balance. For example, Tony earns 10,000 VIP Points between November 13, 2019 and November 12, 2020, and he never redeems his VIP Points. On November 12, 2020, Zappos automatically converts all of Tony’s 10,000 VIP Points into VIP Codes and sends Tony a $100 VIP Code, which Tony can apply toward a purchase on Zappos.com. On November 13, 2020, Tony begins a new VIP Points earning cycle with 0 VIP Points under his VIP Membership.

Q:

Why do I have a negative VIP Point balance?

A:

If you cancel or return your purchase, Zappos will deduct the VIP Points that you were awarded for that purchase from your VIP Program Membership. If you have already redeemed those VIP Points for a VIP Code, this could potentially result in a negative VIP Point balance under your VIP Membership.

Q:

Do VIP Codes expire?

A:

Yes, VIP Codes expire 90 days from the date they are issued to you. Please note that VIP Codes are subject to any additional terms and restrictions provided on or with the VIP Code.

Q:

Where can I use VIP Codes?

A:

VIP Codes can be applied toward future purchases on Zappos.com. Simply enter the code during the checkout process. VIP Codes are promotional in nature, have no cash value, are non-transferrable, and are redeemable for merchandise on Zappos.com only. VIP Codes cannot be applied to previous purchases or to any purchases of gift cards.

When can I redeem my VIP Points for VIP Codes?

A:

VIP Points can be redeemed for VIP Codes at any time once you have a minimum of 100 VIP Points under your VIP Membership. Additionally, we will automatically convert all unredeemed VIP Points under your VIP Membership into VIP Codes every November.

What happens if I return items that I purchased with VIP Codes?

A:

If you return merchandise that you purchased with your VIP Codes in accordance with our Return Policy, you will be refunded the amount you paid (excluding the value of the VIP Codes and any other discounts) to the original method of payment after we process your return in accordance with our Return Policy. VIP Codes are for one-time use only. Please note that you will not receive a replacement VIP Code for returned merchandise and Zappos will not credit the redeemed VIP Points back to your VIP Membership after a return.

If I had Silver, Gold or Platinum Tier Status under the Zappos Rewards Program, what happens now under Zappos VIP?

A:

Zappos VIP has been designed to offer all VIP members the same great benefits, and any benefits you received before under a particular tier status in the Zappos Rewards Program are still available to you under Zappos VIP. The even better news is you no longer have to worry about your tier status changing from year to year and losing any benefits.

Amazon Prime Account Linking

Q:

What types of Prime memberships are eligible for this benefit?

A:

Eligible Prime membership types include Prime Monthly, Prime FT, Prime Free Preview, Student, Student FT, Household, Teen Profile, Tuck Member, 0.99 paid trial participant, 3-month gift subscription, and concession recipient. Instant Video, Invitee, and Business Prime memberships are not eligible.

What if my spouse and I use the same Prime membership? Can we both link our Zappos VIP accounts to the same Prime membership?

Yes, both members of a Prime membership (the primary Prime member and the Household dependent) can link their Zappos VIP accounts.

Q:

If I cancel my Prime account, how will it affect earning 2X points?

A:

You will retain the points you have accumulated while the Prime membership was active. Thereafter, you will earn 1 point per dollar spent.


Zappos.com verifies the Prime status of all linked Amazon accounts every time a customer logs in to any of the linked Amazon accounts and updates the eligibility for the Prime benefit for Zappos VIP at that time.

What are Rapid Refunds?

A:

Rapid Refunds are available to select Zappos customers. If you are eligible, you will see the option while processing a return either on the website or mobile app in the "Return Options" drop down. If you chose the “Rapid Refund" option, we’ll issue your refund in approximately 24 hours of first scan by UPS at drop-off. If we don’t receive the item(s) you chose to return, we may charge your credit card for those items.

Do I need to enroll in Zappos VIP if I was a member of the Zappos Rewards Program?

A:

No, you do not need to do anything to enroll in Zappos VIP. The Zappos Rewards Program was changed to Zappos VIP, and your Zappos Rewards membership is now a VIP Membership eligible to receive all of the great benefits under Zappos VIP. Please note that if your Zappos Rewards membership was inactive, you will need to make a qualifying purchase in order to reactivate your VIP Membership.

Will this change my legacy Zappos VIP status?

A:

Yes, but the good news is all customers who had legacy Zappos VIP status will not lose any benefits, namely the benefit of one business day shipping. However, to earn and redeem VIP Points and receive any other benefits under Zappos VIP, customers will need to sign up and accept the VIP Terms. Please note that even if you received a message that you were automatically enrolled in Zappos VIP, you still must agree to the VIP Terms in order to complete your enrollment and participate in Zappos VIP, and you will be prompted to do so upon log into your Zappos account. If you do not agree to the VIP Terms, you cannot participate in Zappos VIP.

Can I earn VIP Points for Product Reviews?

A:

Zappos invites Zappos VIP members to write honest, unbiased reviews of products they have purchased to help all of our customers make more informed purchasing decisions. Zappos VIP members may earn “VIP Points” for writing reviews that comply with our customer review guidelines. Zappos VIP member reviews that do not comply with our customer review guidelines, as determined by Zappos in our sole discretion, will NOT earn any VIP Points.

Zappos VIP member reviews are the independent opinions of the individual reviewer. Vendors cannot influence, modify or edit the reviews. Zappos will not modify or edit Zappos VIP member reviews, as long as they comply with our customer review guidelines. To identify a Zappos VIP member review, just look for the customer review labeled "Review for Zappos VIP Points (What's this?)”.

How can I write a review on a product?

A:

You can write a product review with just 5 easy steps:

  1. On any product page, scroll down and on the left-hand part of the screen, underneath the ‘Customer Feedback section’, you will see a button titled ‘Write a review of this product’.

  2. Once you click on that button you will see an image of the product, a text box, a rating section, and three sections on how the product fits. Please fill in as much information as you’d like. You can also insert your name, where you live, your email address and other brands that you recommend. *Please note: this section is designed around how a shoe fits. We are working on updating this section to be dynamic based on the product type. If the question does not pertain to your product type, please feel free to just type in your review in the text box and select the star ratings.

  3. Then, click on the orange ‘Submit your Review’ button.

  4. Once you’ve submitted your review, it may take up to 5 business days for it to appear on the site.

  5. Please visit our Review Guidelines and Terms of Use to review the legal terms and conditions concerning your submission of reviews.

I am a Premier Reviewer. Can I get VIP Points and free product for writing a Zappos VIP review?

A:

No, if you write a review in exchange for free product under the Premier Reviewer Program or any other product review incentive program, that review is not eligible for VIP Points under Zappos VIP.
