Very comfortable! I wear an 8.5 wide, or 9, and ordered a 40. Because of the lacing on the top, I could lace the shoe snuggly where needed for support, while still allowing room for my foot to wiggle comfortably. It's an odd looking shoe, in my opinion. Perhaps it's the cutting edge of style, and I'm just not current, but it looks to me like a butcher-tied roast when I look down at my foot. Nevertheless, I wish there were some more colors to choose from! I ordered the silver, which is working well with summer frocks and jeans, but I'd like navy blue or some other shade, too. I'd probably purchase another color, too. The insole comes out so if you have a custom orthotic you can use it. My orthotic is not full length, so taking out the insole leaves my toes uncushioned. Not my preference. There is some arch lift in the shoe - it's not flat - but I'd like just a little bit more. All day wear the first day was comfy. All day wear the second day was also comfy. Nothing rubbed or chafed. And maybe I'm more stylish than I think.
