I've been buying Mayari for several years now and I love them! The footbed is "hard" when you get them and take a few days to break them in. My first pair of Mayari's I didn't spend any time breaking in and wore them all around Chicago for a whole weekend and NOT ONCE did my feet hurt. I think the best trick is to make sure the straps are a little bit loose when you start to wear them around the house. Wear for short periods of time first and gradually increase. My first and most beloved pair were the Tobacco Oiled Leather Mayari (can no longer find), so I ordered these to substitute. I wish the color was a little more "gray" or "pewter" but they are still brown to me. I really love the toe strap because it helps to hold the sandal on. I prefer to wear mine loose all the time. Also, this is a low-profile footbed (compared to the soft footbed which seems much thicker and chunkier to me). Super cute and functional to wear every day. My first Mayari's lasted four years of daily wear! 41 fits my 10.5 foot perfectly.

The Mayari Birkenstocks are extremely comfortable and my favorite pair of sandals! I have a pair in Mocha and wear them so often I decided to get another color. I ordered another pair in the oiled Tobacco leather. Unfortunately the color I received is totally different to the website pic. I was very disappointed and have to return these and find another pair. I called customer service and was so impressed by Neil's willingness to help and his patience in finding the best solution for me. I increased my review from one star (due to incorrect colors shown online), to four stars because of the excellent customer service I received.

These are super comfy, and perfect for those who love their Birks, but want a little tighter of a fit around the toes. The color is nice, but not as bright as the pictures make it seem.

I like these shoes and will be keeping them. I tried 2 other styles before, and the fit was not right. These provide good grip and traction because of the toe straps. They are just slightly a little big, but I was not seeing any half size options. I've been warned there is a Birk "break-in" period. I haven't worn these for long periods of time yet, but that is likely true. I have wide feet, and these are a great option for those with wide feet. They also have good arch support which is helpful since I also have flat feet. Worth the money, and I'm happy to make the switch from regular sandals that are not the best for me, to these.

While I liked the color and style, my large toe was very uncomfortable in the toe strap after trying on and walking on carpeting in my home. This style may not be for me.

Bought these for my daughter for her birthday! She was pleasantly surprised and LOVED them. They fit well and are comfy. And they are just a bit dressier than her original Birks.

I loved the look of this sandal. Unfortunately the ankle strap hit me at absolutely the wrong place, every time I walked it felt like my ankle bones were being displaced, even when I adjusted it to the last hole. THEY ARE NOT LEATHER, so they will not break in. Unfortunately, returning.

Returning these. Foot bed hard as a rock. Upper leather soft. All in all, this shoe is painful to those of us with neuropathy.

strap between toe broke after a year- Can i return i wonder. Soles not like they used to be - turn up and crack at heels.

These lasted less than a year and then the leather came apart from base of shoe at the toes. The cork at base - back of heel - cracked and overall, i did not think they were made as well as others i have had for 10 years with nary a problem, crack or change. They don't make them like they used to. I'll try to post photos later.
