These are the first NB shoes I've been able to wear since the sizing on the 928 was changed. I needed a cushioned shoe that could accommodate my PAL Health Technologies orthoses. These orthoses fit best in my current Saucony ISO's, but those shoes don't have enough cushioning. These fresh foams have EXCELLENT cushioning. I can't wear them stockless (although many could) because the left shoe collar rubs my foot. The design issue (- one star) is no lace tabs. The tongue slips far to the side on both shoes but there is no tab to lace through to correct this. The QC issue (- one star) is that the saddle of the right shoe is slightly off-center. My left foot has PF; however, the right foot becomes painful around the arch (doesn't happen with my Saucony or Asics) after a short time so it may be related to the saddle position. I did not notice this until after wearing them outside. Because of my custom othoses, this is the first shoe I've purchased that wasn't labeled stability/motion controlled. I had to buy a wide to fit the insoles, but the first purchase of 9.5 B fit without the insoles so I think they are sized correctly. The heel isn't quite deep enough with the insoles, but it works with proper lacing. If you want a super cushioned, flexible, lightweight shoe, this may be for you. I bought the turquoise/yellow color which is very nice.

I have worn the 1080 for 4 years with great success so was very disappointed when these arrived. They are very uncomfortable and even too narrow for me in the toe box which is amazing since I wear a SS width shoe! I've never had a shoe, especially an athletic shoe, be too narrow for me in my life and I am 65 plus year old. On the plus side I do like that I can use the insoles I get at my local New Balance store in these shoes but that's of little consequence since I'll be returning them.

I ordered a size 9D as I normally do. The shoe was too large and did not have much support. Returned.

As others said, they fit different than previous 1080. I have been wearing 1080 almost exclusively and these do not feel right. so sad

Been wearing New Balance narrow shoes for years and they are no longer narrow. Could not wear these shoes even with added insoles. Shoe laces are too long and stretchy so they hang to the ground.

Sorry but I just didn't like them. They did not look like they did in the picture and were not very cushiony inside. There was some kind of shiny material around the outside of shoe. They just weren't what I wanted so they went back. And returns are super easy, so no biggie. I know if I had actually seen these in a store, I would not have tried them on.

The more I look at these shoes, the more I find wrong with them. Beyond the tongue being attached to the sides of the shoes, the insole is not only paper thin and completely lacking arch support, it is too long. And the shoes aren't deep enough to put in a different insole. I was going to keep them and try to make them work, but the quality is so bad that I am returning them.

I wore these once, after retuning two other pair of a different brand, I thought it was the one. I read through most of the wide shoe reviews. Ten minutes into my workout my right foot burned like it was on fire, and I felt like I was walking with a rock in the ball of my foot. Now I've got a sore foot that will take weeks to get over. Not good! Only the right shoe so it's defective. The toe box is wide. I could easily get a B width and have plenty of room. They are light, have nice spring in the step feeling. The length is great. Can't return them since I wore them, so it was a bitter pill for me.

I wish manufacturers would't change the shoes every year. The 1080v6's were perfect the 7's hurt my arches and heels. I've tried just about all of the New Balance shoes and none of them work for me. Will have to try other brands.

This shoe is my go-to everyday walking/training/running which is why I own several pairs. I received the most recent pair yesterday complete with rock hard circular nodules (looked to be leftover material and dried glue ) in the inner right side shoe panel! Caused tremendous pain until I figured out how to remove them through the perforated detailing. At this price point, I should not have to "doctor" and remove painful materials left in shoe during manufacturing. New Balance's return/exchange policy on this is quite archaic, not fair to the consumer and especially considering the mistake and defect is on their end.

Extremely poor arch support for those with a high arch. Toes very wide and you feel like Daffy Duck as your walking

There's no support and not enough cushioning. I won these shoes in a contest at work. I chose it because of the high number but every time I wear them more than 5 hours my legs and my feet ache.

These were recommended by a guy at the store here in Atlanta, after I explained my concerns and focus. Well I thought for sure that his recommendation was tops because I stood on this machine that tells you where your pressure points are and whether your feet are flat or arched. Needless to say these shoes caused tremendous pain in my heels mainly. I felt as though I was walking on rods and it felt awful. I have purchased some other shoes that take comfort to a new level, but these are a definite no. They are too highly priced to feel the way they did. However, I will say that they have a decent width in the footbed. My toes had wiggle room, this was worth one star.

I have tried to wear these twice and each time my heels ache miserably. I went to the store here in Atlanta and the representative said this was the shoe for me. Well, not so much. These shoes have a fresh foam cushioning so they say. I feel like I'm missing some of the heel when I walk and I really don't like them at all. I plan to contact NB about this poor recommendation.

As other reviewers stated, the toe box is very shallow. Apparently New Balance tried to save 2-3 cents and you can't move your toes. Otherwise, it would have been a fabulous shoe. Going to try the men's shoe in a bigger size, but not too hopeful.

So very discouraged to find these extra wide NB, are too tight! The issue as with many others is there is NO height in the toe box area. They are wide soled but the material is stretched tight across the shoe making it very low profile and TIGHT!

This is an expensive shoe! I felt as if I was walking barefoot on a cement road. There is no support in the forefront.
