These were for my husband, who has owned and loved many Merrell brand shoes. Said this pair was very uncomfortable....the footbed felt like he was walking on pebbles.

as others have written, a surprisingly uncomfortable shoe. Fit was good, but whatever they've done to the sole they need to undo. I've bought something like 20 merrells, but they seem determined to change their whole line for the worse. Very annoying as I like to just pick a shoe and then buy it over and over. I need to find that shoe somewhere else I guess.

I've been buying these for several years and loved them. Unfortunately, Merrell has changed the design just a little bit, but enough to ruin the fit and feel; less padding on upper part and aroung ankle area. They no longer work for me, so disappointing.

Highly recommended if you need a wide and tall toe box. I've worn the Moab Ventilator mid-top, Moab Gore-tex mid-top, and just received a pair of Moab 2 Vent low-tops. I can't tell the difference between the Moab 2 and the original Moab. These fit true-to-size if you use thinner hiking socks. I think I would have ordered 1/2 size up if I were to do it again, so I could wear thicker hiking socks comfortably. All the Moabs I've worn have been comfortable for hikes right out of the box, at least for up to 15k-20k; I haven't hiked longer than that. These shoes have a wide and tall toe box, perfect if you have wide feet and/or 'hammer toes."

Fit is great for this shoe but I am returning the second pair as well as the first. After a month or so, the shoe began "squeaking" or "crunching" and not just a little. A Merrell representative this time explained that it was an air pocket failure. I had this happen several years ago and that time I was told that it was because the shoe was old and had not yet been worn! Other Merrell shoes have not exhibited this problem.

I bought these for my husband, who said they are not as comfortable as the first version of the Moab Ventilator.

Not great, not horrible. I have somewhat wide feet and can't tolerate shoes that feel constricting, I ordered the wide size and these feel great, not constricting at all. The cushioning feels weird like it's firmer in the ball and the heel than other shoes that I have. The texture of the footbed feels uncomfortable, I'm likely going to put an insert in these or get thicker socks to wear with them, because it's very noticeable.

I've worn Merrill athletic shoes for many years. Hands down I have found them more comfortable than other brands. I've owned several pairs of the Moab Ventilator so when I saw they were no longer offered I assumed that the new Moab 2 Vent was just a relabeled Moab Ventilator. Apparently not. The Moab 2 vent is lighter, thinner and just generally feels cheaper. They've also changed the walnut color although they still call it walnut. I am keeping this pair but will research other brands on my next purchase.

Like others, I have owned a series of Merrell boots including this exact shoe. The new pair I received immediately felt uncomfortable. The arch was different and this made the whole shoe uncomfortable including giving me blisters after a short walk. They clearly changed the insole and even taking it out and replacing with comfort insoles, the structure of the boot has changed. This is the only pair of Merrells that I have ever worn that are uncomfortable. I returned to Zappos, and, as always received excellent customer support and returns.

I have owned two pairs of this shoe previously and have hardly worn the soles out. They were very comfortable and rugged. I wore them so much that the upper shoe pulled away from the sole. What would one expect after constant wear? I just had to have another pair and now I'm set for my vacation. I strongly suggest that if you are looking for a well-made and comfortable long-lasting shoe, purchase this shoe now!

My boyfriend is a roofer and he needs shoes that can grip the roof and withstand a lot of wear. He says these are very comfortable and have the perfect amount of grip on the bottom.

Over the years, I have owned several pairs of the Merrell Moab. In my experience, I have found that there is a significant difference in the fit between the Moab Ventilator and the Waterproof versions. I have a relatively narrow foot, yet I find the toebox in the Waterproof model to be somewhat restrictive, causing my outer toes to impact the shoe, especially when coming down hills. The Ventilator version, however, provides a bit more toe room without feeling oversized or sloppy.

Fit was great. My husband has a wide foot with a high instep. His right foot rotates over due to Parkinson’s and these shoes give good support.

Frequent Buyer, a favorite shoe. These have red,,, all together oooooh. I get 2+ pair or of these a year. They start as good shoes that I can wear to work with my orthopedic insoles, but shift to play shoes, then lawn mowing shoes and finally to digging in the garden beaters. I’ve on occasion ripped the tops right off the soles after years of use. Note I log 26k steps a day. These pictured are my favorites And 3yrs old.

I have purchased merrell shoe for many years, and they are right out of the box the best shoes, but I ordered a pair of moab 2 vent in walnut recently, and about a week after wearing them they began to squeak, and very loudly. I returned them to zappos with no problem, and they sent me another pair, and guess what, they squeak also, I don't know what to do now. I believe that the whole batch of moab 2 vent in walnut is defective, I have never had this problem with any other pair of merrell shoes before, what do I do now?

I have been ordering Merrell Moab 2’s for my past ten or so pairs. They have been great, but it seems that the toe part of the sole delaminates pretty easily and wears out within 2-3 months now where they used to last me a year. I’m sadly going to try another brand. I checked with Zappos and they found a few reviews of similar description with the sole delamination. I don’t usually write reviews, but I can’t fix a problem without reporting it so others can benefit from my experience. Thanks Merrell, but I’m going to try another brand because of this issue.

The arch support is very good, you can feel the Vibram soles. The toe box is roomy for a person who cannot abide any cramping of toes, very nice. Wear them around all day sitting, standing, walking, and my feet feel comfortable. They are light weight and breathe nicely. I really like them.

I am very happy with this purchase, active wear shoes need to fit or they are worthless and the sizing was spot on and thankfully very good.

Fits my size 6.5-7 flat feet well. Use them on long walks and moderate hikes. Good materials make it comfortable to wear right out of the box. I’d recommend them and wear them when I just go out shopping too.

Love the arch support and fit of these shoes. I recommend the vent version over the waterproof as the waterproof making noises like they are filled with plastic bags.
