Shoe has very little cushioning so I replaced the inner sole with a memory foam one which took care of that problem. But it feels like I'm walking in clown shoes. The front clunks when I walk. It feels really weird. This sneaker is going back.

These shoes, while a great price and good look, didn't quite make if for me. I really like a lot of cushioning in the ball of the foot, there isn't enough. The arch support isn't quite good enough either. I wear orthotics and while they fit my orthotics they didn't feel comfortable to walk in. I usually wear Brooks Addiction walkers but am trying to find something else. Apparently its an impossible feat!!!! But I keep on trying. Zappos is really incredible however I'm sure our UPS man thinks I'm Imelda Marcos! New Balance use to fit the bill with me but hasn't in a long time. I hope they get back to making good fitting shoes again as I really would rather buy shoes made in the USA instead of shoes made overseas that really don't last long enough. Its a never ending task but I have to keep at it!

As a person who looks for stable and supportive shoes, I tried these. The cushion insole has no arch support and gives a bouncing feeling when walking. Wish all shoes companies would put a better quality insole in a shoe supposedly advertised for people needed support in a shoe. These were returned. Zappos is wonderful in allowing customers to try shoes and returns are so simple!

The worst sneaker I ever purchased. They are hard, do not bend. There is no cushioning and they are supposed to be for running? Very heavy as well. I had a hard time walking in them. Going back to Brooks !

I used to love the 940 before the new design. I wore them with motion control insoles per my podiatrist. They do fit nicely in the toe box and are great for my bunions, but the heel slips now (even with the lacing tricks I know). They feel a smidge tighter than the previous version. It was enough of a change that they no longer are comfortable. This is a disappointment because New Balance are my favorite brand. I will be going to the 860 in the future.

They felt good at first, but overall, not very cushy. Also, I have very flat feet, and I would get blisters in socks from my non arch rubbing against the inside of the side of shoe and where insole meet. NB overall have been going downhill the last several years, and I'm done with them.

Unlike the last version of the W940, this one is stiff with a narrower toe box. Not at all comfortable.

I am a longtime New Balance wearer and was excited to get these fun blue sneakers in the NB SL2 last, which has a deeper toe box. These shoes looked and felt great, until I started exercising in them. The arch is narrow and hard and hurt my foot as I was walking on the treadmill. So disappointing. These sneakers may be good for just bumming around, but I bought them for the treadmill. Returning thanks to Zappos great customer service policy.

Main problem was that my feet became hot and sweaty, just walking around the house to check out the shoe. This has never happened to me before. Therefore it is being returned. Otherwise it was a comfortable fit, wlthough somewhat short and narrow for the size.

These shoes work for some but not for me. A previous reviewer said they were hard and made a clunking sound when walking and i found that to be true also. Like hard plastic. Not enough cushion for me. Had to return. Going with Brooks Adrenaline!

This shoe was very stiff and difficult to put on. I couldn't get my feet in the shoes despite ordering a half size up. I had ordered a full size up elsewhere and the shoe was comfortable but too big. This is a nice running shoe; the bottom has great traction and durability. Unfortunately, it didn't fit for me but hopefully it will fit for you.

I really wanted these shoes to be great. But they aren't great. I wore them to work today and they fit fine at first but after a couple hours they got to be too tight across the top and my ankles hurt wearing them . I'm disappointed and won't do this again.

I am returning these. Previous 940 style and fit were wonderful ! These are extremely uncomfortable especially in the arch area. I couldn’t wait to get them off my feet and back in the box . The overall look of the sneaker was very nice though - back to searching for a new comfortable sneaker . Wish me luck !

I wanted to wait awhile and wear these before reviewing them. I've had them five weeks. I began wearing them the day after they arrived in the mail and have worn them every day since. I am extremely disappointed in this shoe. It has very little cushioning and shock absorption for a running shoe. Thankfully, I ordered a half size up and a wider width and was able to add TWO sole cushion inserts and a heel cushion just to see if that would solve the problem. Still, they hurt my feet. I now have plantar fasciitis for the first time in my life after wearing these. I know it had to be caused by these shoes. New Balance has always been my favorite work out shoe but I really regret buying this pair. It's as though they are defective. I honestly believe when they designed this shoe, they missed a step and left out a crucial part of the construction. What a disappointment to pay $135 for a pair of shoes that I can no longer wear. I'm so disappointed!

I have been wearing the 940v1 and 940v2 for years. I run a lot and wear down shoes within a few months so would buy several pairs at once. I finally wore down my last v2 and tried the v3. It was horrible! It did not fit like that the first two versions at all. I returned them to a local store. Now I have no idea what to use as an alternative. Guess I will be shopping other brands to find something with the support of v2.

After wearing this shoe for just one month it developed a terrible squeak in the left shoe which I was willing to tolerate. Now it's developed the same kind of squeak in the right shoe. And the fit has become very sloppy. I would not recommend this shoe.

I so wanted to like these over the clunky, non bending, kinda ugly old lady 990 but these 940’s felt lumpy! What? Like I had half golf balls in them. The toe bed was disproportionately huge that my feet were swimming in my normal 2AA size in shoes that my feet looked huge aka like a duck. Ugh guess I am stuck with ASICS again but they haven’t made a sexy mostly black shoe to match my spandex workout outfits in awhile.

My fiancee always wears New Balance so I decided to get a pair. The shoes were too big on my feet. They also felt like I was wearing dress shoes when I was out jogging. No give or bounce back at all. I am returning.
