If you’re curious about the size difference btwn the Little Kids version VS the Big Kids version here are some pictures for reference. My 3 year old needed a backpack for preschool that can fit a standard size folder, blankie and change of clothes and the Big Kids version fit the bill. Little Kids version tapers off at the top and can’t fit a standard folder. He is smallish for his age, but he was able to keep the Big Kids on his back and there’s room for him to grow into it. Design and structure is classic.

I was searching for a backpack for my 5 year old daughter for Kindergarten, a market where I feel there is a severe gap. We aren't fans of the backpacks with children's' characters all over them. We just wanted a backpack that fit with a simple, cute design. This backpack met are needs and more! At that age they are still so small yet they need a backpack that can fit a standard size folder. She is tall for her age, but even still other backpacks look enormous on her! Like a giant turtle shell. The Herschel Heritage Youth is perfect! Can't say enough how much we love it. I only wish they had more kid friendly designs. The name can be a bit misleading as well. I almost got the Herschel Kids, but after checking Amazon.com reviews found that despite the dimensions, it would not fit a folder. When looking at the dimensions on this backpack, it appeared to be too large. It is not. It is just right!

I was looking everywhere for a backpack for my 6 year old that would be her size and that would not be huge on her. I am so happy to have found this great amazing backpack, it is the perfect size, her school supplies fit perfectly and it is the right size for her height. The other backpacks i had looked at were too big for her. I highly recommend this backpack for a kindergartener or a first grader.

Our family LOVES Herschel bags. My daughter has one that still looks like new on its third school year. We bought this one for my son as he starts school and it looks great - excellent quality and bright colors. You really can't go wrong with Herschel.

Very strong bag ,stands up to washing and i love the style. My daughter still uses it for school .

We got this backpack for our new kindergartener last fall. It withstood its first full year of use very well. Still looks great, no issues. Very sturdy but comfortable to wear. As other reviewers mentioned, this is a great size for elementary school. A standard folder/binder, a couple books, a lunchbox and a few small treasures all fit without overwhelming a kindergartener. We added patches for a little extra flair. Just ordered a second backpack in a different colorway for our younger daughter who will start next year. They love their matching backpacks!

It's a nice bag for kids but I use it to pack small things. I am small young adult and this is perfect for me.

I wished the bag could be a little bit bigger but it is so nice looking. I wouldd recommend it.
