I've been wearing Salomon's running shoes for 13 years. I started needing a hardcore trail shoe and now I need something that'll take me from trail to street behind a stroller. The X-Mission is very comparable to the XR-Mission, minor noticeable design changes like color and sole features. I have feet issues now and these are perfect for my wider toe box and normal heel width. I purchased the Speedcross 3 because I wear the tread down on the XR's quickly but the Speedcross are entirely too narrow for my feet. I normally wear an 8 or 8.5 W (thanks to pregnancy) but I bought a 9 for extra room in the toe. After you break these in, your feet slide forward when laces are loose. I have never loved one of their styles more than the XR but I think the X will be my new favorite.

I have several pairs of Salamon Speedcross shoes which I truly love for my treks up and down Seattle's muddy, sloggy trails. I got these for the sidewalk and my daily treadmill workouts. They are perfect. They keep my wobbly feet and ankles solid and stable. They lessen impact and strengthen my stride. I like the roomy toebox and the relative stiffness of the shoe itself. They are very comfortable. These are also good looking shoes. Glad I got them and will likely get a second pair soon.

This is the second pair of these that I've owned and they're perfect for my weekend trail runs on technical, wet, trails covered in leaves. I have narrow heels, wide feet, and tend to roll out (which means a lot of ankle sprains) but I feel very stable in these.

This is at least my 6 or 7th pair of X-Mission 3s so I obviously like them. I love the different colors, the fit (I have a wide foot), the lacing system and their durability. I am not a runner and I understand how the lace system might not work well for some runners. I am an occasional easy hiker but I do walk 2-5 miles daily so my shoes get a lot of wear. I do not wear my shoes until they are worn out. I try to buy a replacement for the oldest pair every 6-12 months and then rotate my new shoes with the older shoes often. I know these shoes are not supposed to be washable and probably not recommended but a friend told me she washed her running shoes (different brand) on occasion if they were very dirty or dusty. So, I took my oldest pair and tried it. They came out looking like new and felt that way too! I don’t wash my shoes often, maybe once or twice/year and I always let them dry in the sun. Overall, this is the best and most comfortable running/walking/hiking shoe I have ever had. Love my Salomons and waiting for more colors...

This is my second pair of Salomon's and I'm not even a runner. However, I do walk a lot. I find these X- Mission extremely comfortable. My favorite part of these shoes are the lacing system. I have never had to stop a walk to bend over and retie these shoes. The great colors are a bonus.

After wearing these shoes regularly for 6 months, a portion of the tread became separated from the bottom of the shoe. Because this is essentially a slip on shoe, the back upper part gets crushed down when you put your foot in and you have to dig it back out from behind. The cushion bed is good.

I have worn Salomon shoes for over 10 years, and I love them!! I always get compliments on the various colors and style. I have worn this particular shoe for 3 years, and it's perfect for my current needs - running/walking 30-40 miles per week. Great support, great style and not too heavy for running. When the shoe becomes too broken down on the inside to continue running in, I wear them to kick around in, or I wear them as my garden/yard shoes. In one way or another, Salomon shoes last me for a years. Highly recommend.

I'm between a 6.5 and 7. Both fit comfortably in the house but I kept the 7 to prevent my toes hitting against the front of the shoe when running. I run on pavement and a little bit on trails: this is my favorite running shoe. Heel feels really stable; I love the lacing system. I had the XR-Mission previously and wanted a similar pair. Would buy again.

I own the previous version of these, the Salomon XR Mission, which ran large. I normally wear an 11 but they were too big in that version and had to return for a 10.5. (I have very long and narrow feet) This new style is much more true to size- ordered an 11 and they fit great! I have been struggling with plantar fasciitis and these seem to help but they do not have as much arch support as I think I need. I am on my feet all day. Love the color, love the quick lace system. Overall, I am happy with the shoe.

I wear a nine in regular shoes and 9/12 in tennis shoes/running shoes. 9/12 is just right in this pair. I've worked out in them just a couple times, but so far so good. Very comfortable and I've gotten lots of compliments as well. But most importantly theft well and provide good cushioning.

Very comfortable shoes. This is my second pair of Salomon X-Mission 3’s. They have been kind to my feet from the get go. I have had none of the problems with the laces mentioned by others, and find them great for getting in and out of quickly. These shoes live near my front door because they’re such an easy wear. I have gotten compliments on them from complete strangers. Soles, seams and fabric are wearing well. Colors have stayed vibrant. Picture is of two year old pair so you can see how well they have held up with regular wear.

I bough these to replace the exact pair I had and was training in to walk the Camino Santiago. Unfortunately I wore them out not in. I chose them because of the flexible sole. Many other styles were too solid and hard on your feet which lead to rubbing in the heels as you pushed off. These do flex and I haven't had any problems with hot spots forming around the heel or ankle area. I like the quick lace system but I do with the laces were longer. If you try to wear them with hiking socks it's really hard to get your feet in. I have to take my time and wear them fully open for a few minutes for the socks to settle before I can do them up. A longer lace so I can open them fully would make all the difference. I put custom orthotics under the insole. Works well for my long walks. There is arch support but just not enough after I broke my foot. The mesh breathes well and they dry out quickly.

I bought these as Title Nine offered them for much more $, so savings on Zappos. I really like them, I am a runner and like a structured running shoe and the lacing system is great because I never have to stop and tie a shoe, the lacing works with your movement . These are stylish and add a pop to my normal black running pant. They are light, comfortable, and stylish ~ purchasing in another color (own the magnet/poppy red) (purchasing the North Atlantic/)

I have been a loyal fan of Salomon for years. I reorder every 6 months or so, size 7--easy and always reliable. This order, I changed from XR Mission to X Mission 3. Whoa! What happened? After walking around the house for two days, I realized these were much tighter in the toe box. Reordered the 7.5 and great results. Size 7 going back. Who knew? Five stars now that I have established the next size up on this model.

I walk at least 125 miles a month and try to rotate 3 different pairs of shoes. My go to shoe is the Brooks Glycerin and I am in constant search of another one as comfortable. This shoe is not, BUT it is doable. Nice wide toe box. The lacing system already goes to the furthest lace so, in effect, heel lock lacing is in place and I did not have slipping on the heel. The shoe seems to come up higher on my foot above the arch than the Brooks and I'm not sure I like that, but it's ok. It is a stiffer shoe than the Brooks but not uncomfortable. Also seems to have a higher arch support than the Brooks but not uncomfortable. I did 5+ miles in them today for their first wearing and while my feet knew it by the time I got home, I think they will break in and be fine.

I’ve been wearing Salomon X-Mission 3 shoes for several years. I use the shoe for walking and hiking on trails, often 5-10 miles. I have both bunions and a hammertoe, and the shoe accommodates my problem areas. I noticed my last pair in my usual 91/2 seemed narrower in the toe box so this time I bought a 10. So far, just wearing them around the house, I feel the extra length is more comfortable for me. The Salomon brand seems to fit my feet the best, not causing pressure on my bunions. As usual, great service from Zappos.

This is my third pair of Salomons. My other two pairs were Speedcross 3's, which i used for winter walking, and were extremely comfortable. The X-Mission 3's seem to have a firmer insole and aren't quite as "cushy". That is the only reason I am giving them a 4. I love the lacing system, the colors and overall style. My 9.5 fit perfectly, and although I have a medium width, I also like the wide toe box.

Extremely comfortable right out of the box. I’m so surprised how comfortable these shoes are. I took a chance and went on a 10 mile hike, with challenging terrain the first time I put them on. They were so comfortable and required no break in period. I’m very happy with these shoes.

Great running shoe. I have the Speedcross 3 and thought I'd give their road shoe a chance. Salomon is more comfortable than ASIC IMO. I love the lace lock system. No more untie shoes mid race.

I have worn this exact shoe, size and style for the last 3 years having purchased 3 previous shoes. I was disappointed with the recent purchase as I felt the shoe ran short by a 1/2 size. I tend to supinate and this brand is the only walking shoe I have ever found that I have enjoyed after having purchased many different brands. I was therefore disappointed when I received this shoe. It is the exact size that I wanted and therefore did not return the shoe.

Bring back the XR MISSION1. This shoe is narrower, has less arch support and is overall less cushioned. The size 8 1/2 is too small (slightly smaller than the XR MISSION1) and the size 9 slips a lot in the heel despite lacing tightly.

I REALLY wanted to like these shoes. I've worn Salomons for years but somehow they have changed their style just enough that they no longer work for me. These are very stiff and the sides come up so high they hit my ankle bones. I tried them with heel pads and, even so, they rubbed. This was with heavy socks. In the summer with thinner socks, they would rub my ankle bones raw. Sadly I had to return them. Not sure what I'll do for my next pair of shoes.

These are the only running shoes I've worn for years. I thought I'd try and switch to a pair of brooks a year ago and hated them so much in comparison. Based on other reviews and my own experience they are getting much harder to find so I just stocked up on 3 new pairs!
