Salewa is a quality shoe, the Mountain Trainer GTX was loose in the heel for me. These are great looking and I will be looking at other Salewa shoes.

OH MY. These shoes are awesome. I thought the Scarpa's were great until I decided to try these and I am so glad I did!!! I'm flat footed and these shoes do not allow my foot to roll inward - so great arch support and foot stability. Very comfortable as well. Toe box has room even with tapered toe. Appears to be well constructed as well. I also liked the insole options in the box and was really easy to also use my custom Wiiv insoles too. LOVE. Will definitely try this brand in the future when I wear these out...Feel true to size and heel is not slipping either.
I'd also recommend:
Salewa, Ahnu, Scarpa

If you have a bit of a narrow foot and looking for a well constructed and thought out hiker, this is the shoe for you. They are not too heavy and have the sturdiness you need if you are backpacking. I also like that these are a good looking shoe and functional. I typically wear a 10.5 and the 10 was perfect so not to ruin my toes on long decline. Also note that these come with the Salewa guarantee of no blisters. I bought Smartwool PHD light socks with 60% wool. So incredibly comfortable together.

Very supportive & comfortable. Excellent for narrow feet; shoe runs a bit narrow and lacing allows further adjustment.

I really wanted to make these shoes work. First I ordered them in my size and they felt great in general but the heel was so big my foot was slipping out. So I returned them and order a half size smaller. Fit a little snugger but the heel was still an issue. So I'm gonna have to keep looking I guess.
