It's a great, conservative-yet-sexy dress that's an affordable addition to your wardrobe. You'll feel really great in it. Strangely, I had a lot of trouble finding the right size, despite taking my measurements. I ordered based on my largest measurement (hips) but ended up having to go four sizes down because the hips are generously cut. I'd advise ordering your expected size and at least one size down. You might still need to go smaller or get it altered. The right size for my bust was loose in the upper hip and the hem was still a couple inches too long (I'm 5'6"). The dress is very heavy polyester, and it's got a thick polyester lining. This is great for the drape and for masking bulges and bra & panty lines, but much too heavy for summer. Better for fall & holiday occasions.

Love this dress. Very elegant! If you are deciding between 2 sizes go with the larger size. The sheer material does not give on the dress.

I'm in love with this dress. It's so flattering because it's a longer length which can sometimes look dowdy but looks so chic in this dress & I'm tall so it looks really elegant. The sheers fabric covers the top of the arms which are not my fav bit whilst showing off a perfect amount of cleavage. This is a most romantic and elegant dress but still really on-trend and I will wear it for years to come. I bought another Maggie London at the same time. Both look great, I can't believe it. On trend, high quality, not too short and in a size 16. MAGGIE AMKE MORE!

The overall comfort, style, and fit was perfect. All my curves were satisfied comfortably. A timeless vintage must have item.

Great dress, well made, sexy, and sophisticated. Had to go up from a 6 to an 8 to fit my shoulders. I tried two versions of the 8 (from two different sellers) and they varied in size quite a bit (one 8 was too big in the hips and the 8 from Zappos was cut just slightly larger than the 6). I was worried that the mesh top might be itchy and snag easily, but it was comfortable and substantially made.

Sophisticated, comfortable, stylish. Highly recommended. Fit was perfect.

Late September - a beautiful dress an elegant engagement party the night before the wedding. Ordered size 6 and its fine; I could have gone size 4 but the illusion doesn't give. Length is perfect for evening affairs but have it hemmed if you want more glam, less classic - there is a slit in the back that a seamstress can cut to take it up. The body of the dress gives making it super comfortable, but snaps back when you stand. Mid October - wore at a dressy evening sit down dinner. Again, perfect choice. Timeless style.

L-O-V-E this dress! Precious review nailed it. Conservative yet sexy. It feels very well made. Not sure about the comments that it's too long because it clearly shows that in the photo on a tall model.

Fit perfectly and will use as a bridesmaid dress in an upcoming wedding. I am 5'11", ordered a six and the length is right at my knee. Other reviews mentioned no need to wear undergarments, but there is no boning or corset in the dress, so I will still be using some for support! ;-) The color is great, am super happy.

Love the dress just wasn't please with the color for me. I am going to reorder this same dress in black. The size 12 was a little large in the bust area but with a padded bra it fits perfect.

I have been stalking this dress for a while and finally bought it. The sizing is so strange. The top/shoulders were tight, but the rest of the dress was fine/a little big. Did not seem worth it to alter it so I returned it.

Super cute dress. Agree it’s more suitable for fall/winter. I found it to be snug though vs some other reviews about it being generously cut. I’m in between sizes (12/14) so sized down and the bust area was really tight (36DD). The fabric is good for hiding bumps though. It’s really a nice dress and I’d recommend trying it but probably wouldn’t work if you’re top heavy.

This dress is a really great mix of retro and modern, and modest but sexy. In the end, I returned it because I found something I liked better, and because although the bust and waist fit well, the hips were huge on me and I knew I'd have to have it altered if it was going to work for me. Perhaps this is a perfect dress for women with more of a pear shape.

Flattering dress that could compliment many body types!

I love the look and the cut of this dress, but it is not made for a short person or anyone who does not prefer 4inch heels, lol great fit just too long for me.

I absolutely love this dress! it is very classy and will be perfect for fall/winter weddings and/or evening cocktails. I wear a 36B, 4-6 in jeans, and am pear shaped, and this fits my shape like a glove without being too tight. I am 5'1" so I will have to get the hem taken up a bit - it falls about 3-4 inches past my knees - hence the four stars overall. Otherwise, it fits perfectly. I love the deep cut in the back. It is really just a lovely, classy dress.
