Being a fat person (mens tshirt 2x, 3x dress shirt), I was wary that the strap on this would not be long enough to fit at a comfortable length. I've run into crossbody bags which have straps too short.. though this is a different concept as the bag is meant to sit higher on the body than a crossbody or messenger bag does. That said, it fits perfectly comfortably and with room enough to spare that I can tighten it by several inches when I need it to sit higher. Having migrated from a more standard size backpack, the downsize was a somewhat disappointing adjustment to make, however. I keep one of those stubby umbrellas in my bag at all times and that takes up an annoying amount of space, but sometimes I can stuff a hoodie in alongside it too.. so it gets the job done. That said.. having a bag which rotates around your body easily is absolutely amazing for navigating rush hour public transit. This makes the entire purchase worth it.

I bought a khaki colored KAVU rope bag 4 years ago (unintentionally almost to the same day as my new one), and it is still in very good condition, aside from developing a a bit of patina and fading from the sun. I used it daily as a purse and it doubles as a daypack on vacations. The one thing I did not like about the old bag is that exterior pockets were too small to hold very much. My new version's lower pocket is definitely large enough for larger phones - my iphone 7 has at least 1 inch of room to spare width wise and 1.5" extra height. My new new bag feels and looks like it is the same quality as the old one, so I hope it will age just as well.

Awesome bag, comfortable to wear, holds all the essentials, phone, wallet, etc.

Feels comfortable. The rope strap feels like it could be worn for long periods of time. It’s a little smaller than your typical jansport-type bag. I couldn’t fit my switch, headphones, battery, snacks, etc in it so it’s a no-go for flying. It is perfect for walking around or a day hiking trip.
