They look like steel toed construction boots. I'll be returning them.

These did not have any arch support what-so-ever, they are perfectly flat. The heal flopped up and down as I walked. My feet also had plenty of toe space. These were uncomfortable to me and I going to return them. Maybe I just ordered them too wide, 6.5 EE, but they were as harh as a rock.

This was my 5th pair of 577. The other 4 pairs were fantastically comfortable. This last pair has been a nightmare. The instep area is so tight, I had to take out the cushioned insole to make my foot lower in the shoe so I could even get it on. But then that made my shin rub uncomfortably against the side wall. The rest of the shoe fits fine, but that instep area is SO tight (and no, my foot hasn't changed; my other shoes fit just fine). I wish I could send them back, but will probably just give them away.

Wow these were stiff. The tongue comes up high on the front of the ankle and it’s thick and bulky making it hard to walk. The leather is stiff and doesn’t flex all making it hurt to walk. Toe box was wide but an odd shape, so only partially deep. Sad to return as I can’t find any neutral leather shoe for my custom orthotics and I hate wearing running shoes.

Seems like a sturdy athletic walking shoe but the very thick tongue did not work with high arches and there is a seam on the toe box that pinches the top of the big toe. Disappointed and returned but may work for someone else.

Brooks is working best for me now that New Balance wide sizes seem to have become narrower.

The shoes look lovely, but the Velcro (top) part of the strap closure is too short and that leaves a lot of "hooks" uncovered which shred the hem of my pant legs! The shoes also run small. That is why I had to return them. I was also disappointed with the previous 928v3 shoe because you tried to save money by using cloth instead of leather in the inside area of the ankles. This change made the shoes wear out sooner. The shoe rubs in that area and, without the leather, I soon wore holes in both shoes. I am stuck wearing those "holey" shoes until I can find a good replacement. I will try to get to a local NB store this weekend to see if anything else you offer can fit the bill.

I purchased these shoes and I am very disappointed with the tongue. I think the tongue is too long or too padded and hurt my feet at the bend (around the top of the foot). Very painful.

Bought these for work on cement floor in a woodworking shop. Good thing i wear heavy wool sock with them, the tongue is too short and the top strap is too close to the ankle. Painful. Wore them to work before I realized the problem wouldn't go away with breaking in so can't return them.

I am so disappointed in this shoe! I only wore it around the house after opening the box.. They are uncomfortable, with a ridiculously padded tongue. They scuff very easily & are impossible to clean, no matter what product you use. If this is New Balance's new quality, my business will go elsewhere. This is not the quality of materials or workmanship I have received for the last 15 years.

These shoes are good for walking in temperatures below 10 degrees. Not so stylish though

Have been wearing NB for years, the 928vw usually because there r very few EE shoes for women. The last pair was so heavy to wear and they sure don't look like what they cost and they don't fit the same. Tried the WW577VB and it looks even cheaper and the fit is lousy. I don't know why they change something that works, and cut back on quality, I am done with NB

These shoes were not at all comfy; they were a tight fit in the toebox and the bottom arches had zero support. These shoes downright hurt. I'm returning them and trying another two models.

I have purchased the same type of shoe since the year 1982, and have always been satisfied. I need a wide shoe, and have ALWAYS gotten a 4E width. This shoe now only has an option for a 2E width, no 4E available. It is most uncomfortable, and I hate the shoe, as it is so tight. I would never recommend this shoe, unless they bring back the 4E width option.

I ordered 12 Narrow, hoping it would fit. I have very narrow feet, but they are long. I've noticed there is always a distinct increase in width for the size 11 and up women's shoes, which is unfortunate for me. Do others have this problem? My feet are slim, and my toes are long. These athletic shoes were huge! I mean huge. Very unattractive. The toe box is gigantic. Because they are so wide, I had no support for my arches. My feet were swimming in them, and therefore they were unusable, and so back they go. Thank you Zappos for your easy-return policy.

I have worn New Balance shoes for years the SL style with a roomy toe box but the shoes was much slimmer looking. This new style WW577 SL is so cumbersome, I find myself tripping over the shoes. Not my favorite shoes this time.

I have been wearing new balance for years. I don't know what has happened but they no longer have enough cushion Under the ball of the foot. Changing insoles did not help.

Argh, so frustrating trying to find comfortable sneakers for walking! These aren't fashionable looking, but I actually prefer the old-school look to all the colors in vogue now - if they felt good. 1. They are too wide. The room in the toe box creates a pocket above my foot -- does anyone have tall feet? 2. They have terrible support. I tried various things: took out the innersole and tried two different arch supports of my own. This helped the arch but kept the shoes too wide. Then I kept their innersole in and put my arch support on top of it. This made them a bit tight -- they'd have broken in, but it also gave my foot too much lift and my heel slid out too easily. 3. Worst of all. They make my feet pronate in. So if you have wide feet that pronate outward these are the shoes for you! All you need is your own arch supports and you'll be good to go.

Very disappointed in the sizing. This is supposed to be a 2A in width and it is as wide as a B width - I have 2 older pairs of NB at home one a B width and 1 a 2A width to compare it with.

This shoe was a good fit for my wide foot, but there is very little in the way of cushioning for the bottom of the foot and the arch support was disappointing. Seems to me the quality of New Balance is slipping.

I have purchased other New Balance walking/running shoes in the past and really liked them. Unfortunately, both pairs purchased previously are worn out to the point that it's useless to wear them. So, based on the reviews and the price, I ordered these. I got them today and wanted to wear them right after work when I went for a walk, but I didn't want the shoes to get dirty just in case I had to return them. So, I waited until I got home to try them on. The shoes hurt and had my feet hurting (across the top of my foot) after wearing them for no more than FIVE (5) minutes!!! Will have to look for something else. They will definitely be going back. Going online right now to print out the return shipping label.

I am so happy with this sneaker. It is comfortable on my arch and width of the shoe is just wonderful. I hate to take them off.

I wore them outside, so I didn't return them, but they are very hard. The picture doesn't show what they really look like. In 1970 I had a pair like these that I liked, but heck...back then we didn't expect as much from a pair of shoes.

WAY too small! Ordered the size of my longer foot, and this shoe was so short my toes were smashed into the end of the shoes on both feet. Looked to see if wrong shoe size was sent, but it was correct. Also, online it looks like this looks like an all-black shoe. On the back there is a giant white logo that makes it less appropriate for wearing to work. Would have just dealt with that if they had fit, though.
