What's with Teva sandals these days? All I want is a leather sandal with wide straps ala Pretty Rugged. All their leather sandals now come with narrow straps like this Neota. It has a narrow ankle strap that is less comfortable than a wide strap, and narrow leather straps at the toes on top of a black stretchy material that I find to be uncomfortably binding around my foot. I'm not against cute sandals (I have a pair of Kayentas that I love for everday) but sometimes style is secondary, like when I'm going on a vacation where I will be walking all day, every day. These Neotas are cuter than my old Pretty Rugged leather sandals but they are not as comfortable. I am sending them back. I guess I'll order some nylon Hurricane style sandals, about the only sandals left that Teva makes with wide straps.

These seem like they should be great shoes, comfortable and stylish enough. They felt weird when i first tried them, but after walking around my house for a while, i decided they were fine. I wore them outside to walk the dog and nearly didn't make it home. The arch support is in a very strange place - too far toward the heel. Had i not worn them outside, I would have sent them back. I may actually have a defective pair? However, I've continued to wear them for short periods of time and they are starting to shape to my foot a little. I've had great Teva shoes in the past and was very disappointed in these. My Ahnu pair I ordered at the same time fit immediately, felt great, much better shoes.

I ordered these because the recent reviews for Pretty Rugged Leather (Teva), which I've worn for years, were negative. However, the Neota were as much of a disappointment. The straps are just too skinny and too short -- I do not appreciate a hook & loop strap that is so short that it leaves too much hook & loop exposed when on the foot -- it simply collects dust, lint, etc. - ruins appearance. I disliked the hard rubber bottoms that are so noisy on interior floors. I will give it points for the soft footbed. But this shoe has too many negatives for my feet to be comfortable in.

I bought these shoes for a trip. Thought they would be great for walking - WRONG. These sandals provide no support for the foot. And if you tighten the toe strap with the velcro closure the cloth underneath the straps wrinkles and will rub and cause blisters. I took these on my trip and had to buy a new pair of shoes while I was gone (Keen). All the adjustments on this sandal are wasted. I was very disappointed and have steered clear of Teva since I bought these. I am surprised at all the five start ratings! Maybe they just didn't suit me.

Didn't even try the other one on. These made my feet turn out like I was walking on the sides of my feet. Very odd, they do look well made, and the color is a forest green. I also felt like you have to have long toes to fill out the shoe.

There is a design flaw in the straps around the toes. They are placed up too high on the sole. As a result it feels like the shoe is flopping off your foot and you can trip easily. I did.

The shoe would be perfect if it wasn't for the joint in the strap over the top of the ankle. The two pieces rub uncomfortably on the top of ankle, making the shoe miserable to even walk around the house in. I wouldn't dare take it on the trail as I know I would be miserable the whole time.
