While I have always been a lifelong fan of Birkenstocks, I find this style to be extremely uncomfortable where the straps hit the top of my feet. I am sending them back because I feel very little confidence that the comfort will improve.

I have worn Birkenstock’s for decades, but these were not the same. I was very disappointed since I needed them for a trip on Saturday!

These sandals rubbed a horrible blister on my arch due to the hard leather. These were unwearable. What has happened to this shoe maker? They used to be the most comfortable shoes ever.

I wear a size 5-5.5 shoe, so I chose size 36... only to find it's HUMONGOUS. I feel so stooopid. I looked at my old pair of sandals and they are size 35, as are the two pairs of shoes I bought from other European companies. I am so upset that 36 is the smallest size Zappos carries this sandal in.

The Granada style is definitely not for me. They rubbed the top of my feet raw causing bleeding! I love Birkenstocks and have worn them for many years due to foot problems but I have only worn the classic Arizona suede soft footbed style. I wanted something more stylish but unfortunately that a very expensive mistake. I thought it would get better but they are awful and since I wore them I cannot return them. That is very disappointing.

These looked great out of the box and on my foot, but as soon as I took a step I said no way. They were so painful - the leather is extremely stiff and abrasive. Particularly the upper strap hit across my foot in a very painful way. I tried loosening it (it wasn't tight to begin with), but that didn't help, because when I took a step and my foot came up from the ground it rubbed against the strap. I have no idea why there are so many good reviews. I am not willing to have to break in a pair of shoes over a period of months, especially sandals. They should be ready to go. Sad, I was ready to convert to Birkenstocks.

I hurt the outer side of my left foot by wearing these shoes for one day. It was foolish of me to continue wearing them when they were uncomfortable. I thought that I was breaking them in. Instead, it feels like they broke me.

Very masculine, heavy and didn't flatter my 8 N foot even though I ordered in narrow. Seems not the right shoe manufacturer for me. Returned the three different styles I ordered. NAOT sandals are much better looking, last forever, and made well. Better brand for me.

I bought these sandals last July 2013. Wore them sometimes, this year I wore them every day this summer, they are breaking at the toe right thru the cork. I have had the hard footbed sandal for years and had no problem with them. Spending money for this sandal and have them falling apart in less than a year is unacceptable. I will never get the soft bed sandal ever again....anyone else out there with this problem? Me think Birkenstock quality is going downhill just like everything else.

Explanation for the 1 star overall: I ordered this shoe in the Zinfandel color. It arrived promptly--thank you Zappos. I noticed that there were red stains on the paper with which the shoes were wrapped. When I removed the shoes from the box I saw a dark red stain on each of the footbeds. I called Zappos Customer Care center. The representative was very nice and helpful. I received a prepaid label (which I was able to print myself) and packed up the faulty pair and sent them back. I reordered the same shoe. When I found the box on my doorstep the very next day I was extremely impressed. I opened the box and saw the same red stains on the paper--the footbeds were unblemished. I adjusted the buckles and put on a pair of socks. I wore the sandals for the rest of the day (in the house). When I took the shoes off there were red bands imprinted on my socks where the straps went across the tops of the sandals. I phoned Zappos Customer Care, and again I received the return label. I sent them back. Unwilling to buy another pair of Birkenstocks, I did a lot of research on the Zappos site looking for a suitable substitute. After reading many reviews I decided to take a chance on the Montrail Woman's Molokini Sandal. They arrived today. I followed the instructions about heating them and imprinting my foot on the footbed. I am very pleased with these sandals and LOVE the service and convenience of Zappos!
