Customer Reviews School Issue Simon (Little Kid/Big Kid)

My 10 yo has wide feet and I find it difficult to find comfortable dress shoes for him. These fit him well. This is his second pair and I will continue to purchase while his feet grow.

Nice shoe for the price. It seems to run rather large. Our son is a 6.5 or 7 now, and these were very large. Seemed like an 8. We kept them anyway because he is growing so quickly.

Beautiful and classy pair of boys schools. Perfect for specail occassions or causal dress ware. Nice quality.

Really nice-looking and well-made. Slightly softer leather than some of the other brands which makes them much more comfortable for kids who are used to wearing sneakers. My nine-year old actually likes them, so getting him to wear them is never a struggle.

This is a nice basic boy's dress shoe for the price. I'm not expecting longevity here--my son wears them only to church or rare dress-up occasions, so I cannot comment on how they would perform in a uniform school situation. I like the flexible sole--he says they are comfortable. They seem a little overly flexible--the leather is very thin and shinier than pictured. If your son hates "stiff" shoes, these are great. They seem to fit a bit wide and long for the size.

Both my boys, ages 11 and 8, selected the School Issue shoe for fit and style after trying on several pairs of other brands. They both have wide feet. At first I ordered the same size as their sneakers but they were too big I had to order down a full size and even bought pads so the shoe doesn't slip off when they are walking. Will definitely order shoes for them through Zappos instead of running around town.

Ordered to pairs 12w blk and 12.5w burgundy for my 5 yr old son. Label says shoes were made in china. Both pairs arrived and one shoe in each pair was wider than the other shoe. So the shoes are defective! I am ordering another pair to see if they are all defective!

The shoe runs almost a size too big. Returned for a whole size smaller.

I bought these shoes for my grandson. I was extremely happy with how they fit and looked on him. Customer service was just wonderful to talk with. I will certainly be shopping at Zappos again. Thanks for excellent customer service.

Great shoe. This is the fourth pair I have bought for my son. When he outgrows them, I buy him more. He likes them and I do also. Very well made. They last.

We tried Sperry, Florsheim, and Kenneth Cole. These fit well. They would not be for wide feet. He wore them to school all of last year and played outside for recess. They held up well and looked good at the end of the year. His feet never slipped out of them, and he felt he had good traction in them for running during recess. Never had to break them in, other than scuff the soles a little. Great shoe for our 10 year old and 7 year old.

My son loves them. So grateful for Zappos carrying wide boys sizes, especially in the hard to find 5.5-7.5. Thanks!

Zappos is great...my son (age 12) has an extremely wide foot. He has always been difficult to buy for. We tried several and had to send them back. School Issue Simon is perfect if you have a son with a very wide foot. Very happy with our purchase!

This is very handsome shoe. Shoe runs large in comparison to the Sperry loafer also offered at Zappos. In the Sperry loafer purchased in January 2013 a size 1youth for son however in the School Issue brand bought a 13 1/2 in March, 2013.

My wife and I have a hard time finding shoes of any type that properly fit the middle of our three sons. And when recently he needed new dress shoes we tried these and they fit him perfectly. They also come with a beautiful finish. If they last, we'll be purchasing them again!

Bought this loafer for my son and he likes them a great deal because he is a big Michael Jackson fan. The shoe runs big a whole and maybe half size too big. Nice look and holds form so buy smaller than usual.

The shoes were to big and wide.

What's great about this style is how soft and flexible it is for a loafer. What I don't like s how wide it seems in the heel/ankle area. We are keeping them due to necessity, but I had to keep the smaller size due to the gapping which means the wear life is greatly reduced. Love Zappos!!!
