I've been wearing the cloth version of these shoes for years now, normally just waiting for some odd color to show up on sale somewhere, but I finally got sick of the cloth wearing out so quickly and decided to pony up for the leather version. I've been wearing them for about a week now, so I can't comment about longevity, but what I can say is that they feel like better versions of the cloth ones. The leather isn't stiff or heavy feeling, nor does it feel like that cheapo thin leather. It just feels like quality flexible material. As for comfort, support, and sizing the uppers are more comfortable than the cloth and everything else is pretty much exactly the same as normal canvas ones. No arch support, and flat bottoms. I just bought the same size I used to buy in canvas and it fit the same. Despite the fact that I usually hold out for cheap versions I just bought a second pair of these to throw in my closet so that I'll be guaranteed of having a replacement when the current ones eventually wear out. So yeah, I'd recommend them.

Anyone else here because of Kamala Harris?! I followed other reviewers' feedback and ordered a half size down (8.5 instead of my usual 9), and they fit great, comfy with a bit of roominess. Such a classic sporty style. I'm enjoying them already and am glad to have them in my closet.

Beautiful shoe — inconsistent sizing. I ordered a size 9, usually wear a 9.5, and I have a full inch of room directly at my big toe. The other toes are snug, but just my big toe has that inch. I am stuffing newspaper in there as I type. Order a full size beneath your usual.

Shoe felt very comfortable, but when buying go a full size down from your usual. I did this and still found that there was plenty of room, excellent shoe for walking and standing with plenty of width.

Having never ordered shoes on line I thought I'd give Zappos a try and was not disappointed. The selection is huge and ordering was easy! They suggested ordering a 1/2 size smaller than I usually wear since the shoes I was ordering ran long and they were 100% correct. The shoes arrived in a couple of days and fit perfectly. The price was more than fair and the free shipping was the icing on the cake. Zappos is my new online shoe store.

These shoes are wayyyy better than the canvas version of the Chuck Taylors. The canvas version is much tighter, and hurts my feet. The leather versions of these “move” with your feet. Another big perk of the leather version is the fact it’s leather - the color never fades as they would with the canvas version after years of wear. My black leather Chuck Taylors are two years old and still look as good as they did when they were new (aside from the white parts obviously being dirty-ish from the use). As always they run big - I’m typically a 9.5 sometimes a 9 - but the size 8 in Chuck Taylors fit me perfect. Spend the extra $10-15 and get the leather Chucks. More durable, wayyy more comfortable, and they’ll look just as good years down the line.

Nice and comfortable just like the original canvas- Like the title of the review and they're great for the winter because they're leather, warmer, and can stand the weather conditions better.

Have loved these since I was a kid - thought I would kick it up a notch now that I am 47 and get the leather shoe - not disappointed at all! I ordered a half size smaller according to the reviews I read and they ended up fitting beautifully! Now if I could only get the black pair.

These are very comfortable shoes that because of the leather stay clean although they are all white. Love Converse, love Zappos!

As one reader suggested, order them one size down. I usually wear an 8.5 in sneakers and the 7.5's were perfect. Great white leather sneaker and the price point is great! I always have issues with shoes rubbing the back of my heel, so I just add a gel cushion heel insert. Perfect! They are a bit stiff - will love them even more once they are broken in.

These are my first pair of Converse and I love them. The fit is perfect for my narrow feet and high arches. I was baffled to feel the bottom of the shoe on my arch without adding any inserts. The sizing is a little big - I went down half a size to the smallest size I ever buy (usually for flip-flops or any non-sock shoe). I highly recommend these, especially for nursing/healthcare folk like myself who are required to wear all-white shoes. White shoes are the ugliest things in the world - except for these! The white leather is so much better looking than the white canvas. The only non-white on them would be the silver metal grommets for the laces and very light gray writing on the heel. They have a nice solid feel and great tread. And they make scrubs look semi-cool!

Well made shoe with all the right features. My only problem is I bought the wrong size. My regular size is 11.5 and I bought a size 11. Too big.

These shoes are great! Great look and great styling. I bought them for my 15 year old son and he loves them!

Had to have an all white shoe for school uniform. These fit the bill, while still looking cool!

I love being a Zappos VIP member the service is excellent! Converse run big. I wear a kids 4 and had to purchase a size 3 for these Chucks.

I had to exchange a men's 6 which I usually wear for the 5. Comfortable and unique.

Got these shoes in black leather and white leather. I wear the black more often. they are comfortable and seem to have a little better support than the canvas Converse. Be aware if you wear dark jeanslike me the dye will stain the white leather, trim and laces.

Great shoes! Work perfectly for my husband for work. He has to wear all black, all leather shoes, and he is a Converse man, so these were a great find! The Zappos price was less than other online retailers that carried these shoes, plus I saved even more with their free shipping. They also upgraded my shipping to overnight for free, so the shoes arrived less than 24 hours after I placed my order. Overall, I was very impressed with the shoes and with Zappos!

Great buy! These "blackout" Chucks straddle the fine line between retro and trendy, icon and iconoclast, a bygone era and the future. Have already worn them with a tux and with jeans.
