Zappos is my shoe source for life! After reading info. on Bikenstock's website relative to sizing I ordered 43's to replace my old 42's as my regular shoe size has increased since I bought my old Birks years ago. After wearing the new Birks for about a month I realized they were too big. I felt a bit silly asking Zappos if I could exchange the, now used, 43's. The rep. said they didn't normally accept used shoes for return but understood my mistake. They sent out a replacement pair of 42's that day with a prepaid return label for the 43's! Now that's customer service. This company rocks and should be a lesson for all retailers. Happy in my correct size Birks. Eric

Most comfortable sandals ever! I got the suede and they are the softest of the styles. I have a pair of the other kind and they are nowhere near as comfortable. The regular width size is way to wide for me. I have the buckle on the last hole tightened all the way and they are still too wide. so unless you have really fat feet...get the narrow size.

I will be honest - when I first received these Arizona’s and put them on my feet, I thought “I have made a huge mistake.” They were really uncomfortable and seemed TOO narrow (I ordered narrow width because I have narrow, bony feet). Fast forward to after probably 3-5 wears, and these now rank right up there with my most favorite shoes. They have softened up and “relaxed” a bit, so now they are no longer uncomfortable and the width is perfect. My advice: give them time to get broken in and conform to YOUR feet.

I have crazy wide feet and sandals can be hard. Since the straps are adjustable they are perfect. These are by far the most comfortable sandal for me. The black can be dressed up or down.

I love my new Birkenstocks. This is my first pair and they have exceeded my expectations. I suffer from Plantar Fasciitis and these have helped tremendously. Zappos service was outstanding!

The Arizona Tobacco soft footbed sandals are my fourth pair of Arizona sandals. I wear size 10 1/2 C width men's dress shoes and Arizona 43 regular soft footbed sandals are a perfect fit. The soft footbed is a bit more narrow than the regular footbed due to added foam padding, ideal for my C width feet. Most new Birkenstock customers buy them too small, not understanding that the footbed is perfectly centered under the foot when there is 1/3 inch of open space in front of the toes and also 1/3 inch behind the heel. I wear Birkenstocks six days a week so the soft footbed Arizona sandals were comfortable right out of the box. They will be even more comfortable in a few weeks after the cork footbed conforms to my feet. If you are new to Birkenstocks, wear them just two hours a day the first week, four hours a day the second week, and add hours week by week until your feet, especially the arch, become adjusted to the high and firm arch support. The tobacco leather is a love or hate style. They are orange/brown with lots of scratches, gouges and distress marks. They are designed to look ten years old out of the box. They will get darker each time you rub in leather conditioner. I like the "beat up saddle leather" look but be warned: the Zappo's website photos do not clearly show that tobacco leather is highly distressed leather.

I am brand new to the Birkenstock world and was hesitant about spending so much on a pair of sandals. I struggle with foot issues and decided I can no longer wear cheap sandals. After a little research I settled on these, they do have to be worn to be broken in but man I cannot even explain how CRAZY comfortable they are! I wear them with everything, they are my go to sandal. I don’t know how they cradle your foot, but I can wear them all day long and not even get a smidge of pain. Even the straps feel super soft to me now. Great GREAT sandal, well worth the money - I plan on wearing these for years to come!!

I have many pairs of Birkenstocks but the Arizona soft footbed is my favorite. I had been wanting a pair of black, so I tried the black suede. The first mistake I made was wearing them outside without trying them. They turned the tops of both of my feet black but I couldn’t return them. I have the oiled leather in tobacco, habana and oil and love them so I thought I’d give the black a try. Luckily, I wore them around the house for about 20 minutes and they did the same thing as the suede. I gave them 4 stars because I love the Birkenstock Arizona, but beware if you buy them in black!

This is not a trick of the light. They sent me two shoes with two different colored footbeds. They are the same size, width, and color (tobacco) but the footbeds were totally different colors. Returned. Too bad because they were a perfect fit and very comfy. I recommend the soft footbed over the traditional as well. Someone needs to inspect the shoes before they’re sent out. Waste of time and resources in shipping these to and from.

Hands down, the most excellent footwear purchase I have ever made. I absolutely love my Birkenstocks — both me and my boyfriend wear them every single day, even in the wintertime, (rocking the classic socks and sandals look). Excellent all-around support, especially with the soft footbed — and being sandals, they allow your foot and toes to properly sprawl out when you step. (It is so hard to go back to wearing shoes every day after wearing these!!) Birkenstock is a perfect example of a company that creates quality, supportive, and durable footwear, built for years and years of wear. I’ve had mine for 6 months and with proper cleaning and conditioning, they still feel brand new. Just note!! Birks are made with a cork sole and quality leather, and NEED to be conditioned and cleaned every few months of wear. If left unconditioned, eventually the cork will start to crack!! (I’d recommend buying the Birkenstock conditioner kit along with your pair)!

These are by far my favorite shoes ever. They are actually my second pair! Before these, I wore flip flops 24/7 which was terrible for my feet and not very fashionable. Now my feet are way happier and healthier I look ten times cuter. They go with so many things. Call me a weirdo but I even find an excuse to wear them in winter with socks. The quality is worth the money, they last forever!!!! I’m obsessed with these!

Love these sandals! I'm usually a size 7, and am glad that I ordered the size 37, my foot fits perfectly. No breaking in period at all for me and has better arch support than the rubber flip flops I've been wearing. Got the narrow width as well, I think my foot width is pretty normal though, not necessarily narrow.

These shoes felt comfortable from the moment that I put them on. I adjusted the buckles to fit my feet. I knew my Birkenstock size (37, narrow), as I was able to try this brand on, in a local shop. I, most often, wear a size 7; and would describe my foot width as average, leaning on the narrow side. I like the natural materials (i.e., leather and cork) that are available in Birkenstock shoes. The color that I chose (the neutral-brown shade of "Tobacco") is just what I was looking for; and a color that I'll enjoy with much of my wardrobe. :-) I also like that the width of my Birkenstock shoe size is close to the width of my foot, as I wanted the look of a shoe that would mostly conform to my feet. In other words, I didn't want the look of wide shoes on my feet. I think that the narrow size is perfect for my goal! I also appreciate that the leather finish is matte; so that, if I ever accidentally scuff a shoe, the scuff won't glare out as much as it would on a shinier shoe. I'm very happy with my new, slide-on sandle for warm or cool times of the year; and looking forward to, what I hope and expect to be, many years of comfortable use! :-)

I wear a solid 8 in most shoes (I size up for boots) but always purchase the 38 (now saying 7-7.5). It’s a perfect fit. I am a full medium so the narrow aren’t wide enough and regular maybe a tad wide but more comfortable and accommodates swelling in the summer heat. The arch support is great for my high arches and high instep. The oiled iron color is a great neutral and a pretty color. It’s not charcoal (except in some lighting looks darker) but not too light either.

So I’d been looking at these sandals for a little while. I decided to finally get them. It was a bit more of an ordeal than I thought...I have 4 “women’s style” Birks already and this would be my first unisex style. Many of the comments from both employees and customers said that women should go with the narrow width, so I did. The narrow was way too narrow and not at all comfortable. I returned those for the regular width. The regular width came and the holes on the straps didn’t match up so the tabs on one shoe were longer than the other. I returned those and got another pair. The final pair were the perfect size and width and the tabs lined up too! The color was a lot darker than I was hoping (darker than the other 2 pairs), but I can only do so much. With that being said, Zappos was AMAZING throughout the entire process! My experience was excellent! For reference, I wear a women’s size 11 (sometimes 11 1/2) and I got a size 42R. This was my first pair of soft footbed Birks and I LOVE them! No break in period, just super comfy. The leather feels like it might need a slight bit of breaking in, but really quite comfortable the first time wearing.

This sandal is worth the extra money for the soft footbed. Very comfortable, and very durable. The only problem I had was that they didn't come with enough holes on the straps making them not tight enough, so I just made my own holes. Not a big problem. These sandals are made with a softer material on the straps making them even better. In other words spend the little extra money these sandals cost because it's worth it.

I wear my Birkenstocks all day long when I work and the soft footbed really makes a difference. I love these shoes. I am on my second pair, the first ones lasted me about six years of daily use and they hold up very well. I am a size 8½ and I wear the Birkenstocks in a size 38 and they fit me perfectly. Zappos is awesome, I got my shoes much sooner than I expected, and I live in Hawaii. Zappos provides great costumer service.

Normally I wear a men’s 9-9.5 but in these I wear a 41 (8-8.5) so they run a little big. I’m very happy with the iron color as it’s not to dark and not too light. Plus it’s a little distressed looking. While the soft footbed is comforting I was expecting it to be more cushioning. Once they mold to your feet I guess that make a difference. Overall I’m happy with my purchase and would recommend Birkenstock’s and Zappo’s.

The only reason I did 4 stars I. Comfort is because it takes some tame to break them in. I’m sure once that happens they will fell amazing!

I got these because I have mid foot arthritis and need a shoe I can adjust over the arch, but that has arch support, if that makes any sense. These fit the bill; offer good support and are adjustable. Style-wise these Birks have their own little vibe, I feel. You can wear them in winter with socks and bare in summer. Do pay attention to the sizing suggestions for women. I did order the narrow, and they do fit fine. I have other Birks that are specifically for women, and have always ordered the M width.

Love them though they are a little too big, should have ordered one size smaller than my actual size. Brings back some great college memories!

I didn't even know that the soft bed shoes existed, and bought them quite by accident. I love the way they feel, just like slippers. I will never go back to the hard soles. I am sold on these.

This is by far the best sandal I've own bar none! Comfy, easy to slip on and off, and simple good appearance are the pros. I would take extra care not to tread on water infested surfaces or on rainy days since the material (sole) is perishable or bio-degradable.

Love'em!!! I already have the Milano and I really like the backstrap as it makes the sandal feel secured. BUT, I wanted a pair I could just slip on and off. Gave these a try and I actually love them more than the Milano. They are secured to my foot, I LOVE the TOBACCO color. Looks distressed and vintage. Really happy with these.
