I run 40-60 miles/week, split between road and trail. My main races are trail ultramarathons, generally finish somewhere in the middle. I tried the Blaze TR because I wanted a reasonably lightweight, cushioned, and fast feeling shoe for longer trail runs. I use the Peregrine for shorter and faster runs, Xodus Ultra 2 for hikes, backpacking, and fastpacking, Endorphin Rift for long technical runs, and Endorphin Edge for racing. The Blaze weighs like a Peregrine but sits between the Peregrine and Xodus Ultra in cushioning. The toebox is slightly wider than the Xodus Ultra 2, which I like, the cushioning is not too soft or firm, and I can pick up the pace on long runs without feeling like I'm fighting the shoe like in the Xodus Ultra which excels at cruising. Overall quite happy with the Blaze and plan to pick up another pair.

From the side, the sole of the shoe looks way too big, proportionally, to the rest of the shoe. I had to get a different style.

These shoes are really comfortable and look nice. The issue with them is that the soles do not do well at all on slick surfaces. I have slipped three times because of these shoes after it rained, and it was when I was walking, no less. I was able to catch myself, but I can only imagine how bad the fall would have been were I running. Outside of an actual running track (assuming it is free of debris), I would advise that you do not run with these, even on asphalt or concrete, when there is any water on the ground. Something as simple as a wet leaf could lead to a slip, and this in fact, happened to me. Otherwise, these shoes are excellent.

These shoes feel great. I have bought Saucony consistently for years even though the brand has had some mistakes in terms of design (not looks). This shoe is the best one I have owned based on comfort and support.
