I love this pack! It has great internal organization and I find the external front pocket super functional - I use it to put my forager hip pack when I'm not using it. The only miss on this pack - are the water bottle pockets. Please make those taller / better. No matter what water bottle I use, the water bottle pocket always falls out.

I recently purchased two High water duffel bags and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The bag exceeded my expectations by keeping all my belongings dry even in heavy rain. The material is durable, and the design is sleek, making it perfect for both outdoor activities and travel. The spacious interior and compact folding when empty is also a major plus. Overall, this waterproof duffel bag is a great investment for anyone needing a reliable and high-quality bag for any weather condition. Highly recommend it.

I've had this bag for roughly 2 weeks and appreciate the compact ergonomic design that it has while retaining economical use of space in the design. Easy to wear and still carries my work computer and EDC items needed.

Bought this to replace an older MR tag backpack that I recently retired. Spent a lot of time comparing packs from other well known brands and eventually came back to MR and settled on the Catalyst. Primary requirements were that I wanted similar capacity (18-21L) and needed to have padded back and laptop sleeve. This bag met both of those requirements perfectly. It holds a 16" Macbook Pro perfectly in the sleeve and has plenty of room for laptop cords and accessories, along with a layer (puffy or rain jacket) and a 32oz nalgene. I like the top zippered pocket, and don't really care that i'm missing exterior pockets/pouches for a water bottle. The Y layout for the zipper and panels looked gimmicky at first but works great for loading/unloading the pack. The shoulder straps are also very comfy and I love the oversized handle on the lid of the pack as well. My only extremely minor gripe about this pack is that the interior zippered pockets on the left and right panels are very shallow, and would have preferred them to be at least 2x the height or even full height of the panel. As they stand those pockets don't offer nearly as much utility as they could and can only accomodate smaller items. Overall very impressed with this pack and look forward to many years of service with it.

Received this last Xmas and took it on a trip to Disney with three kids. Held a 40 oz bottle in the inside gusset pocket with room for two smaller water bottles in the outside pockets. Snacks in the front pocket and plenty of room in the main compartment for 5 ponchos and extra clothes for the kids. Comfy all day long for two days at the park. Worked great as a personal item on the flight with easy access in top pocket for battery bank, ear buds, phone, wallet and keys. Plan to use it for many more adventures with the kids in the future.

I've basically lived out of this bag for about a year now. It is very nicely constructed, comfortable, and (mostly) well thought-out. The good: suspension and padding is lightyears ahead of most book bags like you might get from TNF, Jansport, etc. It isn't as good as other MR packs that have adjustable yokes and suffers a bit if you load it heavily (like more than 25lbs). However, 95% of the time I'm carrying less than that and it is quite comfortable. Style is good, and I love the tan/gray/orange colorway, especially the orange interior. The main compartment organization is great. Basically it's like having an accordion folder inside to keep your books/folders organized, which is a genius idea and unlike anything I've seen in any other pack. The laptop sleeve is great and holds my 15" laptop securely. The two sleeve pockets towards the front of the main compartment hold my mouse and power cord/brick for the laptop and a pencil case, respectively. I use the little tablet sleeve for my mousepad. The not-so-good: the front admin panel seems like an afterthought. I do like that it's a top-to-bottom sleeve, which leaves plenty of room to shove a beanie and gloves, or a compactly-rolled rain jacket. I don't mind the velcro closure at the top of this, although I wish it was something else, perhaps magnets or even another zipper. The right-side vertical zipper on is a good idea and helps you get to things at the bottom, but it really should have one on the left side too. There's also not much to the pockets in here for holding small items, just a small pen holder on the top left, and a similar one on the bottom right. If there were vertical zippers for the admin panel on both sides and if it was velcro or PALS lined so you could put better organizers in here, the pack would be perfect. Despite these complaints, I still think it is the best EDC/school/book bag I've owned.

Bought as a supplement to my carry on suitcase for a 7 day trip with multiple flights and hotel changes. The size was perfect for traveling and fits well underneath the airline seats. The only thing I would change would be to make one of the inner pocket sleeves with a zipper or velcro closure.

I bought this backpack a month ago for business travel. Main pocket is large enough for a change of clothes and my laptop. the outer pocket has plenty of internal pockets for a mouse, business cards, pens, etc. I bought the Hummus color and it's a little darker then the online picture, which is awesome!

I bought this a month ago and when it arrived the zipper has issues making it hard to zip up and down. I started the warranty process but decided that was a bigger hassle than the zipper so I'm keeping the back. Storage wasn't as big as I was expecting, and there's not a lot too it, but seems like a decent bag.

Several years ago, I fractured a lower lumbar region bone and could not walk among other un desirable things...I was told my active days were done. "NO" I emphatically said. I would find a way, no matter how long it took. (I am a 72 female, about 118 lbs, 5'6") Still not 100%, I rehabbed with a progressively heavier pack daily for about 2 yrs and did a lot of exercises. I invested in an UL pack, thinking a light pack would help. No it abolutely did not. All UL packs, at least those I used, with their unstructured design, hung exactly on my painful part, making me cross. Although this is not the lightest pack, my researched contents are. So, this pack works well, distributing the load better, keeping content weight off fracture. It also has a zipper, opening my contents allowing me to either see or pack stuff. there is can internal frame and load lifters; the 2 chest straps really help me.The dedicated zippered area at the bottom for my sleeping system is very thoughtful, further increasing volume for packed stuff inside. I would recommend this item to any one, especially to those with back issues; this pack seems to help me. It is pricey, but being able to long hike is priceless.

I have eberlestock gear. I like mystery ranch. I got my wife mystery ranch gear. I got this to add to her kit. This is flimsy and the design is not considering the outdoorsman. The elastic sides of the lid do not naturally fall over the top of the binoculars. They allow rain and debris into the harness, compromising tour binoculars. It was flat when I received it and is still flat.
