Sized up for my son to get two seasons, but it ended up being too long and wide so I sized up too much evidently. He liked the fabric but we returned it.

I sized up for my son to hopefully fit in the fall as well as this spring, and he loves the blue mountain pattern and it keeps his jacket- hating self warm on its own. Love the fit, look, and feel (very soft, not flimsy).

We use Smartwool for our ski days as our base layer. They are super thin, comfortable, and warm. If you end up getting too warm, they also seem to pull the sweat away and dry quickly and not stink. Perfect.

Love the merino wool. Good stretch. They wash well and never smell. Only Smartwool for my family of racers.

Sadly, the sizing on this was much, much too small. Typical high quality fabrics and construction from Smartwool, but the sizing for my kids (9, 11 and 13) was so off I had to return. Only really could work for younger kids.

It is supposed to be a wintersport sock, it feels cold inside the house sitting in the couch. Maybe best for hiking in spring/fall weather at the most. Too expensive for just a hiking sock
