Shimano

Shimano Logo
In 1961, a three-speed bicycle hub displayed at the New York Toy Show became the catalyst for what would eventually become Shimano American Corporation. The popularity of 20-inch wheeled bikes with hi-rise handle bars fueled a demand for multi-speed hubs and Shimano® began producing an affordable and reliable version that caught the attention of the cycling world. By 1965, Yoshizo Shimano, the youngest son of the company founder in Japan, opened an office in New York to get product feedback and to provide technical and warranty assistance to retailers selling bikes equipped with Shimano® parts.

Though Shimano America has grown from its modest office staffed by only three people to a full distribution center with sales and marketing offices, the goals are the same: to ensure that Shimano® always has a listening ear to provide feedback on relevant trends and needs and make it a reality for their customers.

Shimano® invented SPD recessed cleat and pedal technology, which revolutionized the industry. The unique systems-engineered shoe/pedal combinations - only from Shimano® - enhanced power-transfer even more. A few years later the efficiencies were applied to the road systems with the development of SPD-SL technology. Less wasted movement, even distribution of power across the pedal and increased comfort. Simply more power from you to the bike.

Shimano's participation extends much further than its products. Through advocacy programs, ISO 14001 certification and even commuter/car pool programs for their employees, Shimano® is committed to minimizing their impact on the environment.

I have worn this twice since I bought them for peloton indoor cycling. I love them so far, they have good toe width and feels nice around my feet, as compared to my previous shoe which was very hard and narrow around my toes. I also love the boa closure, really helps with fine tuning how tight you want the shoe to be.

Most comfortable mountain bike shoes I've ever worn, but I will need to get inserts that have more arch support than the included ones.

These fit really well and I would have kept them but decided I needed shoes which could also do SPD. I'd definitely consider them if you are only looking for LOOK cleats.

I usually wear a size 8 to 8.5. Based on the reviews of this product line, I decided I would try to go with the 8.5 or 41. When I received it, it was way too large. I did have to do an exchange for a smaller size, the size 8 or size 40. I am new to spinning and did not think I needed a spinning shoe. But I have to tell you, after wearing these shoes and doing my workouts, it has made a world of difference on my form and performance. I would definitely recommend these shoes. Great product. Great shoe. Great performance.

Love these! I bought them to work with my home spin bike and it make such a difference (over cages.) I wish I had done it sooner. I watched a few videos online about attaching the cleats and I was good to go! Recommended for spin bikes. Didn't love the color / style, but who cares? They've for a home spin bike.

After foot pain started to creep in from the shoes I was renting from the spin studios, I knew it was because of the narrow widths. I am a 10.5 W in most shoes (11 in Nike). I thought the 10.5 E was a perfect fit and the pain I was experiencing has disappeared. The 11 was too long so I felt like this was true to size. I had the cycle studio install the Delta cleats for $20. Remember, those don't come with the shoe and it will depend on the type of bike you are going to be using.

Read the product details carefully!! It says they’re compatible with 2-hole cleats but they are not. You need to buy an additional adaptor in order to attach the 2-hole clips. Overall great looking shoe but I wish I didn’t have to buy all the extra parts.

I bought the shoes for our spin bike at home. I usually wear a size 6 normal shoe, size 7 running shoe. After reading reviews - I went with a size 38 and they are PERFECT. Nice shoe, very simple and clean design. Super happy with my purchase.

I am usually a size 10 in shoes, and I ordered a Size 43 My left foot is a half size larger than my right, and it's close to being too small on that foot, but perfect on the other. I have narrow feet and these fit perfectly, with my foot not sliding around. You do have to buy clips, I would recommend Shimano SPD clips, which are good for most indoor spin studios except for SoulCycle and Peloton (according to the bike shop where I purchased the clips). For the price you can't beat the quality. Would recommend to anymore who wants to take the leap and use actual spin shoes instead of sneakers!

Awesome shoes! Overall I'm happy with them. If I were ordering again I'd definitely go with the 43.5. I wear a 9.5 in Nike running shoes so I purchased the 44. They are tad loose but not loose enough to return.

I am always a 9.5 and I ordered the 42, they fit great. I was worried that the unisex pair would be too wide but they are fine and can be adjusted with the velcro. No arch support which I think is normal for these shoes, but overall I am happy with the purchase. Now I just have to buy the SPD set separately.

Shimano shoes have always felt very comfortable to me during many hours on the bike. The uppers are soft and flexible while the stiff soles prevent fatigue in the arch of the foot. I like the road touring style which allows you to walk on payment or concrete without messing up the SPD cleats on the bottom of the shoes.

Nice looking shoe; comfortable. Glad I read the reviews. I am a true size 7 (6.5 in Adidas Originals, which run half a size small). Size 40 (US 7.8) fit me perfectly, so order a larger size than usual. Bought these and attached Look Delta/SPD-SL cleats to use on Peloton spin bike. Hope this helps with sizing.
