This shoes run a little narrow which is a dream for me! The colors are true to the picture and look as amazing in person. The footbed and arch support are great.

This is hands down my favorite shoe in the Salewa line! As a part of the organization and the outdoor industry, I have had the chance to put a lot of products to the test. When it comes to having a lightweight and breathable shoe with unrivaled grip for trail running or hiking, I wouldn't look further. The Ultra Train 2 has great cushioning and a unique look. The Michelin outsoles are my favorite feature! I've recommended this shoe to a ton of friends and family, who have all enjoyed it's performance and comfort.

This shoe is my go to around the office and on daily hikes. The fit is really true to size for an approach shoe. I would go up a half size if I was to do a lot of miles. The best part is the grip of the Pomoca outsole. It is perfectly grippy and has barely worn down! As a Salewa employee I wear this shoe to trade shoes and daily hike in these!

These shoes are great daily drivers, around town, on the trail and everywhere in between. It's a sticky, aggressive sole that does well in any conditions, including solid grip on wet rock! Supportive enough for day trips or scrambling on easy climbs. As a Salewa employee, these are one of my go-to shoes!

These are by far the best hiking shoes/sneakers I've owned. Comfortable right out of the box, the do what rare shoes can do -- they make walking more pleasurable and easier, combining light weight, foot support, and great traction with accurate sizing.

Order a half size larger as these have a hard toe and I usually wear 11 and got 11.5 and they fit perfect. Weird to walk in there is a pivot to go to the balls of your feet. Not sure if that’s a vibram sole thing as these are the first shoes with vibram soles I have had. The soles are pretty tall too but it’s not a deal breaker. Overall big fan of salewa and these ones knocked it out of the park.

The shoe felt really good once I was able to get my foot inside the shoe. It was tight to push my foot in and the left side felt tight on top of my foot. Getting the laces loose did not help. I wished they would have fit, these would have been the ones I would have kept.

The Alp Trainers are very comfortable for my slightly narrow feet. I love that they have less bulk in the forefoot area, which helps with nimbleness on the trail and allows better feel for the terrain. But there are trade-offs. The flexible leather hugs your feet, but may provide less torsional stability and less protection from rocks & debris. The soles are quite flexible but that means less underfoot protection than stiffer boots on uneven, rough trails.

I wanted to like these. They ticked all the boxes initially: gore-tex, (some) styling, low profile. brand recognition and overall generous reviews from here to outdoorgearlab. I ordered a half-size down based on recommendations. When they arrived they felt a full size too small. In addition they didn't look great with everyday clothes. Sitting under a pair of mountain hardwear AP pants they really looked like a pair of full-size boots. I returned these shoes.

Accurate width and size, my second pair of Salewa shoes. The high heel back is very comfortable and they grip my feet very well, little or no movement sideways. I am going to use them on a vacation this year, light hiking, not on rough terrain, and they feel like they'll handle that superbly. A good brand I did now know about before, glad I chanced upon them.

To start, I'm sending these shoes back. While they seem pretty solid to me, with a very grippy sole (perhaps a bit chunky), gore-tex liner, and imo, nicer techno-sports gear aesthetics than most other shoes in similar category, I couldn't get around the fact that the gusset of the tongue was really bothering my foot while trying the shoes on. Perhaps it's my low bmi feet, but I think it's that the gussets are attached to the inside of the tongue, rather than the top, meaning the gusset must fold inside of the shoe next to your foot, rather than between the tongue and the shoe. Really noticeable for me, expecially with thin socks. Also, to be transparent, I never really wore these shoes outside, just trying on in my apartment and walking around in there. And I bought them to do duty 98% of the time as an inner city, waterproof shoe to bike around town, and occasionally use on the weekend for hiking or approaching I suppose, so perhaps the climbing and hiking attributes outweigh my gripes for others. And for reference, I'd totally keep these if it wasn't for this issue.
