These shoes are great for rainy day walks/hikes around town or in the redwood forests. I love that I don't have to rush out of them and put on a pair of "regular shoes." I think this is my 8th pair of Oboz...they are my trusted hiking footwear.

Really comfortable and not stiff at all - but I opted for the Sawtooth because it did have a more beefy tread and I thought overall a better choice for longer hikes. Really loved how light and comfortable these were though. I ordered a 9.5 as I usually go up 1/2 size with hiking/running shoes, but I think the 9.5 was a little big. If I would have kept them would have returned for a 9.

Good looking shoes!

I have wide feet and these tend to run narrow. I ordered the wide in a half size larger and was pleased with the fit. I use these for hiking and camping in Colorado and they hold up well in the rocky terrain. I would buy these again!

Can’t wear other types of sneakers for walking anymore, no matter how much I spend-secondary to two hip replacements. I feel better in a firm walking base. This is the perfect shoe because its a hiking shoe that is as easy to wear as a sneaker and I feel secure and less wobbly with every step. Looks sporty like my old sneakers. Love the new coral color.

I have the tall! They are great, but decided one pair is enough and will return. But the taller version is also the best walking/hiking shoes ever, get a pair !

I am purchasing the Oboz Sawtooth II as a hiking/backpacking shoe. They are extremely comfortable and have excellent flexibility. The shoe laces are substantial and allow tightening or loosening the shoe to gain a more custom fit. The insole has a good heel cup for stability, arch support ,and some padding for "cush", but is removable if you desired to use your own custom orthotics. I purchased a 1/2 size larger than my usual shoe size for added toe room to prevent any chance of my toes jamming against the front of the shoe on downhill treks. I wear a lightweight wool hiking sock. These shoes weighed a full pound less than my current Asolo hiking boots. When purchasing these shoes, I also purchased a Salomon X Ultra 3 GTX for comparison of fit and comfort...the Salomons were returned.

I own a lawn care business and have wore this boot almost every day for a year. In my line of work, I can average up to 6 miles a day. I have been through a lot of boots, and this is the most durable boot I have worn to date. The other day I found myself having to walk through a soggy bottom several times. The water was well over the laces. My boots were soaked and covered in mud. To my surprise my feet stayed dry. I would rate this boot a 5 if the toe box was a little wider. I would highly recommend this boot

These Mens Sawtooth Low 11 Oboz are excellent shoes. Cushioning is there, but not a soft squishy one. The arch support is remarkable. I don't have high arches or flat feet. These are about my 5th or 6th pair. Wear a size 11 1/2 and weight is just under 200 lbs. I need a neutral shoe. I am somewhat bowlegged and have a tendency to wear down the outside heel in about 6 months. I wear them everywhere (casual and hiking) both on and off road. I save my worn down shoes for yard work. Have had plantar fasciitis in the past (before these shoes) so I need proper support. The orthotic that comes in the shoes work as well as or better than the doctor made custom orthotics made for me. A long time ago the Montrail Hardrocks were my go-to shoes but they changed design and no longer worked for me. These shoes are very close in design, but more substantial as a hiker shoe. I don't run in them but do put about 3-5 miles on them per day. Work well for standing too. They fit snuggly but have a lot of toe box area, which I prefer. Furthermore, there is sufficient room above my toes to prevent chaffing on my big toe joint that is larger on my right foot. Live is central Florida so most of the year being in the high 80s and lower 90s suggests the need for a well ventilated/cool shoe. This one works very well. I usually wear thin Tilley shoes, but in winter may wear a thicker smart wool pair. The shoes will stretch with time and the great laces become longer as the gap of the eyelets get closer together. This particular review is concerning the latest 2019 Mens Sawtooth Low 11 Oboz, which have slightly larger mesh panels for improved ventilation. Oboz is a fine company with great customer service. You can actually speak with them and get answers to questions or get advise.

Really good-looking shoe / boot. And quite well-built. Fit was a bit problematic. I'm a plain-vanilla size 8, and I typically have no issues with fit. In fact, I reviewed earlier Oboz as the best footwear I've ever had, and straight out of the box. These, however, run a little bit small, and noticeably narrow from the middle of the foot back to the heel. They will no doubt stretch and fit over time, but I certainly didn't get the "perfect out of the box," fit that I'm used to from Oboz.

Best athletic shoes I own. Well made, perfect fit, extremely comfortable and supportive. I stockpile these shoes.

True-to-size fit. I wear a size 9 in most other shoes and these as well. These are extremely comfortable. Traction is excellent! Can't stress it enough. Fit, comfort, and stability. Everything wanted in a hiking shoe. These could also be used on the street and as an everyday shoe, not just for hiking. A winner!

Great support. Feels like they will last a long time. Very excited to find this for walking and hiking on rough terrain.

Needed a paid of snow/hiking boots to keep my feet warm in upcoming trip to Alaska in March. Took these boots out of the box and wore them all day. My feet were warm and comfortable. These may become my daily wear shoes. Awesome shoes, love the color and style.

Overall shoe is awesome, BUT BUT BUT very shallow. The back of the shoe only came up me heel about halfway, so with every step the shoe wanted to pop off my heel and if I walked any amount in them would rub my heel raw in minutes! Fix this issue and these would be GREAT!!!

These are my first pair of hiking boots and I’m loving them. Right out of the box, the fit was perfect, the boots were extremely comfortable, and my feet and ankles felt well supported. Very pleased.

I needed a stylish replacement for my old favorite Ahnu hiking boots (which were NOT at all stylish). I didn't think anything could come close to comfort to my Ahnu boots, but these Oboz Junipers are GREAT - right out of the box. I walked in them for 8 hours straight as soon as I rec'd them, and I have very fussy feet. I have a bunion on my right foot, so shoes/boots always fit a little tighter on that foot, so after wearing them awhile, I just used a little boot stretcher spray, and a boot stretcher and it fits even better. I usually wear a size 9 in boots and a 8.5 in shoes, but reading reviews and Zappos recommendation, the 8.5 M fit perfectly. I think the 9 would have been too big. If you have wide feet, the medium would be too tight, IMO. These are so much cuter looking that my other hiking boots. I got the purple trim (my favorite color). Love them.

Finally a pair of hiking type shoes which fit my narrow feet. Over the last few weeks I have ordered and sent back countless pairs of shoes trying to find a shoe which would work with my plantar fasciitis AND fit my narrow foot. These Oboz Sawtooth Low BDry work! My heel doesn't slip when walking, they are comfortable right out of the box and I have no plantar fasciitis heel pain! Only issue--I clicked on the same pair of shoes today to get a link to send to my sister who has the same foot problems--the shoes were now on sale!!! :(

I have a broad forefoot and a narrow heel. The Firebrands are really comfortable, with a high and wider toe box and a snug mid foot. I am, however, sending them back because the tongue is stiff and it irritates the front of my ankle. Another style, the Oboz Sawtooth, has a softer and shorter tongue. For me, that is a better choice. For my foot shape, the Oboz is a better fit than Merrill which feels boxy after trying on Oboz.

I love the look of these hikers and the support is excellent especially in the arch. I haven't taken them on the trails yet but I can tell that they will hold up and the support won't give out quickly. For a hiking shoe it's light weight and I'll be wearing these babies in the city as well as on the trails. I'm in between a 10.5 and 11 with medium width and the 11 fits me nicely with a mid weight sock. Plenty of room in the toe box without that boxy look. The insoles are very comfortable.

I really like this shoe. I normally wear 12, so ordered the 12. Felt small at first, but stretched and is now a perfect fit. I wouldn't mind going up a half size but I'm okay with the 12.
Zappos Reviewer on February 22, 2019
My usual size is 11, I ordered 11.5 after reading reviews. They fit but snugly and I wasn’t sure if they would stretch being the webbing material. They were very comfortable and I like they could be converted to slides if the heel strap is flipped forward but since the heel strap isn’t adjustable, I ordered a size 12 to see if they would fit better. Unfortunately the size 12 are too big and flop around when I walk, I like the look and feel but it is hard to get a good fit with no stretch and no adjustment straps. Sadly returning.

Quick summary: These are worth the price, incredibly sturdy, won't let you down I bought a pair of these 2.5 years ago and have hiked several hundred miles in them (no exaggeration, I hike like it's my second job). These boots LAST. I'm honestly amazed they haven't broken down from all the wear and tear I've put them through. I get tons of compliments on them because of the beautiful red color. The bottom of the boot is interesting because Oboz is the only company I know that rounds out the heel. What that means is instead of a boxy type of boot bottom like you see with every other type of hiking boot, this style rolls with your forward motion. It took a little getting used to in the beginning but now I find I can't go back to my other pair of hiking boots because the gait isn't as smooth. I generally prefer hiking in these boots to hiking in shoes because I roll my ankles a lot, and I find these boots have excellent ankle support that prevents me from ankle injuries when I'm out on the trails. The tread on the bottom of the boot holds better than I expected. For all of the hikes I've put it through the tread hasn't worn down to the point that the boots need to be replaced. That part alone makes this purchase worthwhile. The tread on my favorite trail runners is already bald and I use those shoes far less than these boots; these things are made to last. These boots are expensive but they are a classic case of "you get what you pay for." The only minor complaint I have is the toe box, sometimes even when I tight-lace my boots my feet will still slide forward and impact my toenails on downhill slopes. But that's my only complaint. These boots have hiked everything from Half Dome in Yosemite to Kanarra Falls in Utah to Cactus 2 Clouds in Palm Springs to Death Valley and beyond. They can handle any terrain wet or dry. I've hiked with them up snowy mountain tops and in monsoons, they handle very well in snow and rain and kept my feet dry. My only other piece of advice is to go up a half size when you order them because these puppies run a little small. Excellent hiking boots overall, I'm a very happy customer!

I love these Oboz hiking boots. They fit really well. I have put them on in the house only so far, bc it's crazy snow & ice here right now in the middle of winter, so I'm outside in my tall waterproof winter boots. I feel I will love them, though, in walks & hikes. I think I've finally got an insight about why it's so hard for me to find shoes that really fit. I bought these in the wide option. It seems to make all the difference. I'll be checking now to see if wide works for me. I bought the 8.5, and that is typically my size now, and they are excellent. Support and also room for my toes! Plus, I love the color, Rio Red. They are so cute! I waited about a year for these to be back in stock. Then Zappos let me know they were in. I am so delighted I bought them! I look forward to warmer weather and longer hikes!

As with all that f the Oboz shoes/boots that I have tried on, they have a very stiff sole which requires getting used to. The arch support is above average. I ended up keeping the Oboz Sawtooth Low BDry because it’s support is equal and it requires considerably less space to pack.
