BEAUTIFUL, FUNCTIONAL shoes!! They are waterproof! Wore them on a stream trail, and was able to walk straight through (shallow) streams without wet socks! They're beautiful-- you can even wear them around with leggings for fashion. Highly recommend.

I bought my regular running shoe size and a size up. I'm keeping the bigger one so my toes don't hit the end of the shoe when I go downhill. They are comfortable for me right out of the box. I haven't worn them hiking or running yet, but the sole seems like it will be grippy so I won't have to worry about slipping on wet or muddy ground. The toe box is roomy enough but not such that my foot moves around too much. I like some support in a trail shoe and these have it. Cushioning is great.

La Sportiva makes a great product. These look even better in person than in photos. They have a sticky sole but still feel like the rubber will last a while. The toe box shape is more of a true approach/light climbing shoe but without the toe box feeling cramped. The tread is quite aggressive and could definitely be used for more rugged terrain (unloaded). Also the design is mellow enough that they can be worn as casual shoes with a pair of jeans if you are so inclined.

Very cute shoes and they seem very well made. They're for low-volume feet and I have high-volume feet, so it didn't end well. But I was very sad to see them go.

These hikers felt really good right out of the box. My feet border on being wide and I had plenty of room in the toe box. I was going to keep these shoes as they are stylish and comfortable when the right shoe developed a weird popping sound with each step I took. I could not see any defect but the sound indicated that there was something wrong somewhere. I liked these enough to want to order another pair to see if I have more luck the second time around.

I have very problematic feet...hallux rigidis, planter fasciitis and cuboid syndrome. My feet loved the feel of the rocker bottom on these shoes. They do however run small and narrow. I wear a size 8.5 and got the 40.5 (size nine equivalent). Length wise they were perfect but still too narrow. I had to return them. I may try a 40.5 in men's to see if I cant get a roomier fit bc I love these shoes.

Found Trangos very comfortable, and thankfully protected me when I unexpectedly sank into a bog up to my ankles in Ireland. However, these boots were a last resort. Have used La Sportivas for years because of their Impact Brake System soles, excellent for wet and muddy hill and mountain hiking we do every spring. Trangos don't have that sole, and luckily the weather was too bad for us to go into the mountains, because my heel slipped on a yellow line while crossing a wet street. With traction that bad, it would have been dangerous for me to have been in the mountains. So unfortunately Good Will gets a practically brand new $220 pair of hiking boots. But they are great for simple terrain, no hard surfaces.

These fit the same at the TX4 but with a mesh upper. Size them like a sneaker. I wear a 12 in dress shoes, but a 12.5 sneaker. The 12 in this shoe was just a tad short for my foot. Overall a great feeling shoe. I’ll be buying the TX4 for the extra durability of the leather upper. Will be used for backpacking, scrambling, hiking and very light climbing (restricted by my abilities, not the shoe).

Very comfortable. Make sure to pay attention to La Sportiva’s sizing. I normally wear a 7/37 in dress shoes and 7.5/37.5 in sneaker type shoes. La Sportiva has a size 7.5/38.5, a 7.5+/39 and an 8/40. The 7.5/38.5 fit as long as I wear a thin sock. The 7.5+/39 allows me to wear a thick or thin sock without being too loose or too tight. Kudos to whoever came up with the idea of a size 7.75. The pinkish purple isn’t my favorite color but after I got used to looking at them, I like the pop of color.

These are my first pair of La Sportiva. I have several pair of Asolo hiking boots but wanted to give these a try after all the positive reviews. I’m glad I did, they look and feel great! I’ve done a few short day hikes with them and they feel great! Again I took the advice of other reviews and ordered a half size up and they were a perfect fit. I normally wear a 10.5, I ordered an 11 and they fit perfect. Thanks again to Zappos for excellent customer service!!

I have been searching for a good running shoe, since my normal shoe is continuously changed by the manufacturer. I really like the La Sportiva Ultra Raptor for mountain running, but needed something for those less technical trails outside my front door. the Lycan fit that niche very well, and still performs well for less to moderately technical trail and even packed gravel trail. The footbed is super comfy, right away. I actually had to size down a half size compared to my usual shoe size, my regular size 6 was just too long. HOwever, now I am paying because the shoes are too narrow. I keep hoping they will break in. My biggest complaint overall, it seems that the length to width ratio is a bit off. La sportiva in general does not accommodate higher volume feet, but I wish they would!! I also don't like how the tongue is made. It is a bit thin so the laces dig in to the top of my foot when I tighten them, and there is nothing really holding it in place so it seems to scoot down or to the side. Those are my only complaints though! I really like the shoes. The padding under the foot is perfect, somewhat firm which I appreciate for precision and speed, but still very comfortable. I think if you have lower volume or narrow feet, you will slip right in to these shoes and love them. But I hope La Sportiva will make them at least a millimeter wider in the next model, or work on decreasing the length to width ratio.

I have this exact shoe in the non-GTX model, and really love it. This one felt much narrower (and looked narrower visually) around mid-foot. I also could not lace it tight enough to keep my heel from slipping. Very disappointed, as the non-waterproof Lycan has been a good shoe so far.

I continue byuing this brand after trying other shoes. I am a dog trainer and must feel secure on my feet. The threads provide me with that. The shoes feel snug but not tight, which also works great for suddent movement. They are lightweight and breathable. I wear wide so I buy a half a size bigger.

I wear a 7.5D and have a fairly pronounced arch and even toes, these are my first foray into climbing so I might not be the best person to review. These seem to be the snug fit needed to climb but not so tight as to be uncomfortable to pinch anywhere. The lacing is a bit tedious but nice to snug up where you might need to....I think these will work just fine as a beginning climber either barefoot or with a thin sock...definitely don't want thick socks with these IMO...good luck hope this helps others about ready to start monkeying around.

Am looking for summer trail/dog walking shoes. I have tried these in a few sizes. i think the big toe area is too narrow. Not the whole toe box area. I have ordered W 8.5 and W 9. Thanks to zappos generous return policy I’m about to try the W 9.5. I like that they don’t have leather (aka cruelty free), the blunt design of the toe shape makes my large feet look smaller (I’m short so i’m self conscious about having big feet), I like the grey, and they’re super grippy. I’m going to rate them 5 star and say they run a tiny bit small. I think better to get a little larger and add a cushion insert or wear thicker socks than to get a blister from wearing them too tight.

Great shoe. About one month in used as a daily shoe. I do a lot of walking with my job and this shoe is excellent. My feet are not too tired at the end of the day. I purchased from a recommendation from a friend who hiked both the AT and the PCT. So if it could handle those hikes, it can probably handle yours.

I have a very standard 7 1/2 size foot and that's the size that I ordered I would say they fit but unfortunately my right foot kept going to sleep. I can only attribute this to them being too narrow across the top of the foot. Like another reviewer said there isn't a lot of cushion in the foot bed but it wouldn't have been a deal breaker. Style wise I think they are perfect and I really wanted to keep them but I had to send them back.

Nicely cushioned, but runs narrow. Also a PITA to put on due to the lacing system. I feel that the tongue comes up to far on the foot, creating more pressure on the tendon that I need. That may get better over time as it breaks in. The traction seems quite good. So, I'm pleased with the cushioning but think that La Sportiva could have done a better job on the uppers.

I wear La Sportiva running shoes for day hikes. These are very comfortable once you figure out the size. I wear a size 7 in dress shoes and a 7.5 in sneakers. This usually translates to a 37 or 38 in European sizing. If you look at the La Sportiva sizing, 38.5 is a 7.5, 39 is a 7.5+, and 40 is a size 8. The 38.5 was a perfect fit in the sense that I could only wear a thin sock. I opted for the 39. I have room to wear a thicker sock on colder days, but I am not swimming in the shoes if I wear a thinner sock on warm days.

Had to return exchange for half size larger. Got the new size and tried them on the trail. These boots are the most uncomfortable boots I have ever worn. I have many other La Sportiva boots and have been happy but these are awful. I have a low volume foot and these things still pinch your toes. I put 2.5 miles on them my first day and got blisters on the bottom of my big toe and the side of my heel. Mole skinned these areas and tried them again a few days later for about 5 miles and I could not wait to get them off my feet major discomfort due to how much they constrict from about mid foot to the toe box. I now have a 200.00 boot to donate to the second hand store. Look great but are complete garbage on the trail.

Perfect fit. Very Comfortable. Very flexible. The stretchy fabric held my foot in place. I was expecting, however, some cushion under the forefoot--there is only the outer-lug-sole under the forefoot. The trails I run on have rocks, roots and sticks, and I'm afraid one or all of those would hurt the bottom of my foot. I guess these might be more like barefoot running type with extra padding in heel (although not too much there and is fairly dense). If these had more cushion under forefoot, I would buy several pairs.
