Less than two months with moderate use. Danner definitely not living up to their hype these days. I do not recommend.

I LOVE these boots!!! They are definitely stiff at first, but I’ve been wearing them 24-7 to break them in. It’s happening slowly. Let me say this: I’m a hiker. I hike a LOT and around 5-10 miles each time. I would NOT wear these boots hiking. I have the Danner Crater Rim for hiking and absolutely love them. I wore them on a 6 mile hike the day after getting them and didn’t have any issues with rubbing or pain. I purchased the Danner Mountain Light Cascade boots because they are just so dang cute! I plan to wear them around town and for things like that. They are too stiff and not cushy enough for me to be a serious hiking boot. Maybe eventually once I wear them in but I doubt it. I read tons of reviews before purchasing both the Crater Rim and Mountain Light so I’m doing my best to give as much info for people as I can! If you want serious hiking boots, I’d 100% go with Crater Rim. If you want super cute bopping around boots that look insanely adorable then get the Mountain Light. I usually wear a 7 in hiking boots (I did in the Crater Rim ones I have) but the 6.5 Mountain Light fit me perfectly. Size down a 1/2 size for them.

These are even nicer than they look online! At first they seemed a little tight, but once I loosened the laces and actually got my foot in, they fit fine! I love the teal ones so much I just ordered the hot pepper! They are light weight, despite the way they look, unusually so for a hiking shoe. I have found a new favorite shoe!

These are by far the best boots I own.!!! Well besides the 3 other pairs just like them!

Great shoes by Danner! I followed the advice of others and ordered a half size smaller and they fit perfectly. Took them for a test run walking the dogs around the neighborhood while it was raining and they kept my feet bone dry. Very comfortable after a few outings. I highly recommend them for the outdoor enthusiast.

After one day in my office, this is what these shoes look like. Wish I had a do over.

I get a lot of compliments on the these boots. They look so cute with jeans. Super comfortable. They come with two different colors of shoe laces, so you can switch it up if you want.

These are the most comfortable hiking boots I’ve ever owned.

Good quality, comfy even on concrete floors at work all night. The tongue is curved stiffly at first, but it’s breaking in within a week or so. Planning on using these for backpacking this summer, and I think I made a good choice with Danner!

Don't waste your time. I bought this boot thinking it would be a quality product considering it came from Danner, out of the box the boot looks and feels like it should be on a Wal-Mart shelf for $49.95. poor materials, poor construction not at all what I expected for a $200+ boot. I returned them immediately.

I had to return these as soon as I tried them on they felt great, but once I started walking in them the front toe part started to crease. The crease was felt right on my big toe. I would hate to find out my toenail came off due to the pressure from the shoe. No Thanks.

I love the classic look of these boots! Instant compliments. They're very stiff starting out and I can tell it'll take a while to break them in, but given their icon status as hiking boots I know it's possible. I went a half size down and the fit is perfect.

These shoes are truly awesome. A bit tight initially, but then they get broken in and are amazingly comfortable. However, be warned if you are going to be use and abuse them, the rubber near the toes will separate. I used some sort of seam sealer, shoe goo just did not work, and they are serviceable now. However, the WORST part, and the part that will probably happen to everybody, is that the inner heel area will start to tear. This would be an easy fix for Danner, with the addition of a leather patch for this area, but the fabric there is just not sufficient for on / off x1000. They were still comfortable, and I still wear them when I'm working in the yard, etc., but they are now real ugly.

I spend a lot of time looking for a lightweight hiking boot that would handle the abuse they see in the agriculture industry. I got sucked in by a clearance sale for another brand and ended up returning them within 3 weeks due to the sole falling apart. These are far and away the best boot I've tried on for the price, feel and weight. They are comfortable from day one and seem to be better constructed than the many others I've gone through at prices upwards of 350 dollars a pair. I was reluctant to go back to Danner after a pair of Quarry's that I purchased lasted less than a year before the interior tore out, the stitching around the sole crumbled and the boot, quite literally, fell apart. I have a different pair of Danner's that are around 12-14 years old that are still in decent shape other than the inside lining, so I figured I would give them another shot. I'm glad I did. They have held up well throughout the snowy winter and I'm hoping the same goes for another field season. Also, I like how these boots don't have a huge toe box for a larger size. The extended laces make things look a lot better on a longer foot. These are the Rich Brown with a red pair of laces I took from the boots I returned to another store.

Great light weight shoe! Comfortable as any running shoe and much mor comfortable than a tradition Chelsea Boot. Planning on ordering another color soon.

Bought these for my wife and she loves them

Good solid boot with great soles for hikes. Only issue I have is a slight pinch on one shoe- top of the foot where it flexes pinches down on my pinky toe. Just something to look out for- I'm hoping once it gets broken in more, the pinch will go away. Other than that, the shoe is pretty comfortable and I'm able to walk miles in the city or the trails. The modern style allows it to be worn both in the city or in the outdoors. The lacing system is basic and I haven't had any issues with it.

I love these shoes. They have great, classic style. They're supportive enough to use for "real" hiking without looking like something I'd wear while walking behind a tank in 1940s France. I'd definitely buy them again. Not that I'll need to, because they last forever, especially with the extra laces that come with them.

I ordered 4 pair of boots to try. These were the least supportive of my foot and ankle of the group. They are attractive and they fit true to size but I returned them and kept a pair of Ariat hiking boots.

OK, we need to get one thing straight. These are NOT practical hiking boots....they're FASHION boots! And they're REALLy REALLY cute! I wouldn't consider hiking more than a few blocks in these, and I'm an avid hiker. They're stiff and heavy...and there are so many other hiking boots and hiking shoes and on the market that these would be on the bottom of my list for hiking. However, they are definitely authentic and have a genuine old-school look to them that makes them irresistible to wear in the winter with cute outfits. I get compliments every single time I wear them....and that's NEVER on the trail. Expensive, yes! But they will last two lifetimes and never go out of style.

Great boots! What’s not to like about Danner? Very warm, durable and fit great. Couldn’t ask for a better boot to kick around the trails with or everyday wear

Very difficult, almost impossible, to get on especially for someone with a high arch. Not a shoe you can slip on easily.

First set of Danner hiking boots and most expensive boots I’ve ever purchased, but I have not been let down. The boots look amazing and feel even better. I measure a true size 11.5 and ordered down to a size 10 and the fit is perfect with laces tight. Keep in mind I have a wide foot with a smaller volume so sizing down 1.5 sizes works great. Very similar to my Red Wing Iron Rangers. When laced up boots would move around a bit on my foot so tightly lacing would be necessary for hiking all day. The boots are very supportive and do not have much flex at all so if you need a supportive boot for all day on your feet these are them. They will need broken in as the sewn in instep is made to mold to your foot and most likely won’t support an orthodox. So far, I’m in love with these boots. I hope I still feel that way in a few weeks and once I’ve gotten on the trails with them.
