Amalfi by Rangoni

Amalfi by Rangoni Logo
Ugo Rangoni was a leather salesman in Florence, Italy. In 1937, he founded a company on a simple premise: shoes should be made using the best materials possible. And Ugo Rangoni knew how to find the best.

He also found a willing audience. The Rangoni recipe of "quality plus comfort" proved so popular that in the early 1940s the company created the Amalfi line for American buyers, becoming one of the first Italian designers to export to the United States. U.S. sales had surpassed one million pairs per year by 1973, the year Ugo Rangoni died – leaving the company to his son, 18-year-old Niccolo.

Niccolo Rangoni remembers those first years of responsibility in the family business as challenging ones. But it's the challenge today that keeps him passionate about building on his father's legacy.

"In the fashion business, every season you start from scratch," he says. "You are constantly creating a new product, a new look. Once you have that in the blood – it’s very difficult to give up." "We’re committed to using only the finest materials in our shoes’ construction: interesting textures, surprising prints, and leather from the finest tanneries in the world. The result is a shoe that's as easy on your feet as it is on the eyes. With each shoe in the Amalfi line, Rangoni seeks a perfect marriage of quality and comfort. That’s also why we continue to offer shoes in a full range of widths in an era when most manufacturers are scaling back. If the shoe fits, you’ll wear it. And Rangoni shoes are made to be worn."

"So how do we offer this level of quality at a cost that’s an average of $100 less than comparable brands? Low overhead. Factories we own – and staff – ourselves. And a location in Florence, Italy, that’s just miles from the finest leather tanneries in the world. You could call it the heart of fashion. For more than 70 years, we’ve called it home."

Fit was true - the back was loose but my heel is a bit narrow. The shoe had a very 'heavy' look on, so I returned it.

Cutest Shoe! My foot is average. Sadly the band across the top is too big.

The Amalfi by Rangoni Marostica is an attractive shoe, but the width is too wide. I typically wear a slim or AAA in size 10. The length was appropriate, as expected, but the width was considerably too wide for my feet. Thank you, Zappos, for allowing me to return these shoes and search for a better fit.

Natural/white/off white shoes can often look cheap, but not the case with the Amalfi. I ordered my typical size 8. I do have 2 different size/shape feet by almost 1/2 size. My larger foot fit the shoe very well. My smaller foot fits the length just fine, but the shoe is pretty wide and my foot slips. I will find a heel pad or foot pad to try to fix the issue, because these are shoes worth keeping. If you have a narrow foot and heel these might slip and be hard to walk in. Worth a try! Look great with jeans, and my toes don't smoosh out the peep-toe like some brands.

I had high hopes for these shoes. I tried on only one shoe and couldn't even walk a step - my foot had no hold in the shoe. The length was fine but the whole open space was much too large. These might work better for wider feet or higher insteps. They seemed well made and comfortable.

I really like these shoes but debating on keeping them. I wear a 9.5N and the length and width of these are perfect. The only issue is the back elastic strap is loose on me. If it were velcro they would be perfect.

I would like to try a narrower width. The shoe is very nice and comfortable However I think Amalfi shoes run wide. I ordered a 10 1/2 N. I will try the AA

Nice shoes. I am returning because the 8N I bought felt more like an 8.5 and was very slightly wide. Arch support was OK but nothing fabulous for the price of these shoes. The color was perfect but the sparkle shoe laces make them look "grade school". Like the style overall.

My favorite shoes at the moment. perfect for Spring. Looked for the same shoes in a different color as well, but cannot find anywhere. Wish Zappos had a better selection of that brand.

It’s so difficult to find quality shoes in narrow widths. I wear a 6 to 6 1/2 AA with an even narrower heal. I had hoped this Almafi would work, as I wore their shoes for many years. Sadly, they too, have succumbed to vanity sizing labeling shoes at least 1/2 size to a full size smaller than true size. I purchased this shoe in both 6 and 6 1/2 and both were too long. Thank you, Zappos, for still trying to offer this size to us. But, most of the brands that still make this size are of a lesser quality and more “senior” look than many of us, with this problem size, would prefer. Thank you for being so understanding about returns. As our sizes are not available in stores anywhere, ordering online is the only way to try on shoes. Shoe fit is very personal and therefore, I must make many returns. Especially as the brands, I once relied on, have simply stopped making 6 AA’s. Zappos, please encourage manufacturers to continue making this size.

Great shoes for business casual with a nice pair of slacks. The fit is amazing. I really dislike the black rubber sole. They should have been more thoughtful in its design. I kept the shoe because the fit is so amazing and they really look nice.
