I ordered 8 1/2 my size = they were to big, ordered an 8, just a hair to small and the tongue is so rough that it rubs against the foot, very uncomfortable - too bad cause the leather is really nice, best leather I have seen in a long time - to bad they don't fit correctly. don't think the hard tongue would ever soften cause that is where the shoe label is and it is made of canvas - so that will stay hard and rub against the top of your foot right where your ankle bends
