I felt compelled to review these because I have a very hard time finding shorts that fit me. The fit on these is perfect for me.I am reviewing a pair of these (Volcom Stoned shorts) that I purchased last year and were a different wash than the 2 currently available, so I hope it still applies to these. The pair that I got from last year is similar to the "retro blue" but mine have more distressing (ie holes in them) and actually wish that the current retro blue without the distressing was available last year. But I digress... I am 5'9" 140# with a very small waist and muscular butt/thighs. compared to most shorts available, these are a little roomy in the leg with what seems like a little bit of extra length in the back. These cover all of my butt cheeks whithout constricting my thighs. I am 30 years old with 2 young kids, so while I'm not interested in showing off all the goods, I'm not exactly over the hill. These are a great length while still looking modern. I took off 2 stars for 3 reasons: 1) they stretch out quite a bit after a day of wear. This normally isn't an issue because I just wash them each time I wear them and they bounce right back. (with 2 kids I always have a load of laundry that can go in with these, but it's still annoying). BUT I took them on a week-long vacation and they turned into completely different shorts that are way too big by the end of the second wear but otherwise wouldn't need a wash. 2) the hem kind of rolls up after washing and wearing for a little bit(maybe due to the distressing?). I have ironed them, and it goes right back and looks fine for a few hours of wear. but mostly I don't iron them and they're still my go-to short on hot summer days. And 3) Not sure the quality is there for the price Sizing is hard for me since my upper body and lower body are 2 different sizes (0-2 on top, 6-8 on bottom). I ordered a 7 in these and they do pretty well. If I order another pair, I would consider ordering a size down because of how they stretch. If you have a booty & thighs. Try these shorts.

I am pretty happy with these shorts! I have a difficult time finding non-frumpy shorts that fit well since I'm pear-shaped. These are initially snug, but don't have any elastic-type stretch to them so they will loosen up after wearing for a bit. I would have liked them to have a darker wash option, but definitely pleased with this purchase. Zappos, as always, was amazing in getting these to me so quickly (just in time for a sunny Florida vacation)!
