This is a vey cool, very comfortable, and very sturdy boot for hiking and even walks in town in cooler weather. It took me 3 sizes to find the one that fit, so order more than one if you are concerned. I wear at US size 7.5, which is usually a European 38 (or 37.5 if you can find one). This boot was way too long in the 7.5, so I went down to a 7, and again to a 6.5. The sizing chart on the box shows the size 7.5 to be a Euro 38 2/3. The length difference was mostly in the toe. I require my toes to wiggle in a shoe, and even in the 6.5 they have plenty of space and are not touching the end of the boot. I have learned that a shoe that is too long will cause stumbling. The arch is very good and it also was more comfortable in the smaller boot. This boot has the kind of interior padding that makes it feel like you are snuggling into it. Mostly it has all the good feel of a great fitting ski boot but without any of the bad parts. I wore this boot indoors to test for how hot it would feel. I forgot I had it on. So yes, this boot is worth the money. It is not an ugly boot but rather a gorgeous take on hiking boots. It is not too hot, and yet it will feel great in cooler weather, and it is not too heavy, so you can forget airline weight issues. Try one on, and consider ordering more than one size since returns are free.

Downsides: The arches on these boots are super high, more than expected, enough to aggravate your tendons if you are susceptible to tendonitis. The toes are pointy for a utility shoe, not much toe-box room. Leaves less ability for your big toe to assist with balance, makes big toe press on the side if you are used to comfortable shoes. Positives: They are solid boots. The low cut on the back makes them comfortable for the achilles tendon. The cuffs (that the word?) around the ankle are nicely padded. Very comfortable in this area, unlike the toes/arch. They are attractive and the treads are serious for the job. Conclusion: overall built a bit more for style than comfort, unless your feet are already accustomed to shoes built for looks.

excellent boots. wear well. solid. waterproof. fit great. I'm on my feet 12 to 14 hours a day, over 60 years old, and THESE boots ROCK! Pair with cushey wool socks and I'm set for another day of fun. Asolo - make these in cranberry red leather and I'll be thrilled.

I stumbled over this brand of hiking boots this month (I've never heard of or seen this Brand) as I was searching for some good waterproof boots and have fallen in love! I have tried the Drifter GV in sizes of 7.5M, 8M & 8.5M; Soul GV in sizes of 7.5M, 8M & 8.5M; and Thyrus GV in 7.5M. The Drifter fits me best in a size 7.5M but there is a lot of room between my toes and the top of the shoe in that area (the length is appropriate but there is excessive room above my toe area); a size 8M fits me best for the Soul GV (my toes were touching the tip of the shoe length in a 7.5M) and a size 7.5M fits me best in the Thyrus (the space between my toes and the upper area of the boot is appropriate as well as the length). The Drifter also seems to have stiffer leather/fabric than both the Soul and Thyrus. Each one is unique in the pack of hiking boots and offer a lot of great features. I like that the outer soles look more refined than other brands but the insole is very comfortable and have a great arch support. I was waiting to buy the Thyrus GV style in the blue color if it went on sale but when the orange went on sale I decided to try the orange color and I am pleasantly surprised! I love the color and even like it better than the blue.
