Fabulous right out of the box!!! I have a wide calf and a size 5 foot. I can NEVER find anything to fit me in stores. Thank heaven for zappos. These shoes were delivered to me during a lunch break at work, so I tried them on and they fit perfectly (size 5 1/2 wide calf with a sock). I wore them the rest of the afternoon and had no trouble with having to break them in, etc. I can even wear them with jeans tucked into the boot. I feel gorgeous when I wear them.

I tried 3 different boots from Zappos and found these to be the best of the three. As a shorter person (5 feet tall) with wider calves, I needed ones that didn't cut into the back of my knees and were able to zip up comfortably. I also didn't like the gap at the top of the boots on one of the others. This pair was the best - no issues at the back of the leg and the gap was minimal. I would definitely recommend these!

Does Ralph Lauren hate feet? I typically wear a size 5 (sometimes 5.5) in shoes, and yet I could barely squeeze my feet into these boots. They are so narrow, and since these boots offer a wider shaft, why would they pair that with an undersized foot space? I think I would need a full size larger to make sure my feet are comfortable, but I honestly don't want to try another Ralph Lauren boot after this experience. The wider calf is very nice though, and I really like the subtle elastic in the back. I would have preferred a silver buckle instead of gold. And I only tried them inside, but it seems like these would be very slippery in rain or snow.

I have the hardest time finding cute, stylish wide calf boots. These checked all the boxes. I have a semi wide foot and these feel just a little tight but I am sure they will break in. Highly recommend. So happy to find them!

I thought the boots fit true to size. I take a 9-1/2 and need a slightly wide-calf. The boots were not so wide that they stuck out at the top which I found to be a problem with a lot of the other wide-calf boots. My jeans fit great inside and I would recommend them. I also like that the boots were leather and not man made material.

All the reviews are true! These boots are very comfortable, stylish and the fit is true to size. I was worried because I have wide calves but there was no issue at all with zipping them up and they look great. The zipper is also very high quality, something I can't say for a few other pairs of tall boots that I own.

This was a cute boot. They only problem was the color. They were so dark they almost looked black.

Very nice boots, but unfortunately I have to return them. They did zip up over my calves, but with no extra space for jeans. I doubt they would zip over tights to be honest. The toe box, though, is why I'm returning them. It is narrow for my foot and pinched the side of my foot.

Runs short and maybe a bit narrow. I usually wear 6.5 or 7. I ordered the 7 but I would need 7.5 in this boot if I were keeping it. I didn't like the profile of this boot on my leg. It stands away at the top, not a lot but enough to bother me visually, and narrows too much at the ankle, giving that V look which accentuates wider calves. The boot zipped easily and felt fine through the legs, very comfortable in that regard. I also don't really care for buckles, but I gave this one a try since wide calf is so hard to shop for. This is a pretty average looking boot. Going back.

Overall, a beautiful well made boot. I have "athletic calves" and this boot is the first one to COMFORTABLY fit me. The styling is traditional and versatile. I am so excited to wear these!

So many wide calf aren’t pretty. These are. Wish it didn’t have the mesh on the back of the calf, but it’s barely noticeable when on.

These boots are so comfortable and true to size. Really like them a lot.

I absolutely LOVE these boots! I am 5’6 and have thick calves. These came up the my knee, and there’s PLENTY of room to wear these over jeans. They’re extremely comfortable. I was able to pull them out of the box and wear them without having to break them in.

Best boots ever! I have athletic calfs so I have a hard time with riding boots but theses are perfect right out of the box! Very comfortable to walk on and I've received tons on complements on them!

I bought these as a gift for my daughter. I took a risk, because shoes are a hard thing to give. But Zappos's great return policy makes it worth the risk. Risk paid off! Daughter loved these boots. She has very wide calves and often nothing in the store will fit her. These look gorgeous, fit her, and are comfortable. Mission accomplished for a great gift!

I bought these a few weeks ago, hoping they would outlast a few cheaper pairs.They are so soft! I love how the heel clicks on the floor when I walk. I definitely have to learn how to take care of leather and they haven't Had to weather any weather yet, but I'm hopeful!

Really great quality and very stylish. I loved it and it felt great on. But my calf is just too wide and it wouldn't zip all the way up. But i recommend it.

I love the look of these, I wear them often. The bottoms are VERY slippery, brware.

I am new to the boot world and did not have any luck finding boots in stores - calves are too wide. Found these boots and thought I would give them a try. Even with being “wide calf”, I struggled to get them zipped up all the way. The stretchy back of the boots helped to make the zipping possible, but that was on a bare leg. I do not think I could fit a pant of any kind underneath them. The boots themselves, however, are very nice! I loved the darker brown color and the leather was nice and soft. The foot is a bit narrow - I have flat feet, so many shoes feel narrow on me. Aside from that, they did feel pretty comfortable. Sadly, I will be returning them.

If you are short - this boot may not be for you. I had a weird problem with this boot and had to return it. The right boot zipped up OK, but the left boot wouldn't even zip up. I've never had this problem before. I am only 5"2' and I think is the boot was sized on taller person with a longer calf, so the placement of the gusset is slightly too high for my leg. When I tried not putting my heel all the way down, it zipped easily. For some reason, this mattered more on one leg than the other. If it fits - lucky you. It's a great looking boot with lovely soft leather.

Beautiful boots but calf was much too wide. Sorry to have to send them back!
