These boots are great. I bought the black ones in a size 5 1/2. I typically wear a 5 to 51/2. They fit great. I put on a light nylon sock to help get them on. I'm wearing them a few hours at a time to break them in a bit. Love them!

This is a beautiful boot. It's high quality, like all Frye boots I've owned. Because many reviewers said this boot runs a little small, I ordered my true size thinking the leather will stretch a bit. They were actually just a little too big and my heal slipped in the back, even with thick socks. I ended up returning them. I was going to order a half size down, but I wish I would have ordered them while they were still on sale. I'll probably hold off for now, but I would definitely recommend this boot if you are looking for something that will last you years.

First let me say I have had about 35 pairs of Frye boots over the past two decades and they are by far the best quality boot I have ever purchased. I am not afraid to shell out the money for a quality product. Frye NEVER disappoints me! I purchased these beauties because I wanted a more polished biker boot to wear to work. They have a more slim silhouette and sleeker appeal than the other styles. They DO however run a half size small. I like to wear mine with a medium thick sock. All in all these boots are beautiful and super comfortable right out of the box. They are definitely worth every penny!!!!

I bought a pair of "charcoal" colored boots on line 1.5 months ago. Visually, they are a beautiful, well made dress boot and can give them a 5. I already had an older pair of unlined higher veronica slouch boots in nubuck that had fit immediately without any need to break in and are very comfortable! That said, these new natalie mid engineers are leather lined and much, much stiffer and styled a bit narrower. I happen to have been in Boston when I bought the veronicas and was luckily able to try them on first. For me this is always the best way to buy shoes as my feet are not perfectly shaped (rt larger than left) ! The fit for the Natalies are not as good for me as the veronicas but I am working on trying to break them in so they eventually soften up a bit. Yes I have gotten a blister on my R outer ankle. I usually take a narrow size 7.5 and I ordered an 8 . I live in Ventura County CA and nearest store is in SF!! and will definitely try to try them on first "in store" before I buy my next pair.

I bought 2 weeks ago. Very soft and conformable when I wear them. The leather is good quality.

Worth every penny. Soft, fit perfectly. I've had both ankle and calf surgeries and these boots are comfy, no need to 'break in'. Love the color and mid-calf height. The adjustability at the ankle and calf are also excellent features.

Bought these a few months ago. Very comfy and cute. I've gotten lots of compliments on them! A little difficult to get on first. After time, they are much easier to get on.

I bought these boots two months ago and I love them! I bought a half size up based on other reviews and I'm glad I did. They fit perfectly and are so comfy to wear all day! They go with everything as well!

Very comfortable! I didn't get. Chance yet to treat these and got rained on and no spots. The height is that great in the middle between calf and to the knee.

It's not easy trying to be hip at age 62, but these boots sure do help. Great style and good detailed stitching for a more refined look than the Veronica Short. A bit difficult to get on at first but hoping this will get easier over time. They don't get any better than Frye!

I have a very high instep and could not get the boots on. The boots were beautiful though, great for the money.

I got these boots because I needed a casual black boot that didn't look too clunky. These are absolutely perfect. The leather is soft and pliable, yet not too delicate for some wear and tear. The fit is a bit tight across my foot, but I have a pretty wide foot, so this is to be expected. I've worn them twice and they are already feeling more comfortable. They are a little difficult to put on, but not that bad.

These are great boots. Very high quality leather and will take some time to break in. The only comment I would make is that the "Charcoal" color is truly a very dark brown.

Received them today. Love these boots! I wear wide-width shoes so purchased a full size up. Still had a tough time getting it on and off my bigger foot. I wore them around the house for just a couple hours hoping to break them in.

I love this boot, but they were really hard to get on. Once I did, the lower stiff part of the boot dug into my ankle on one foot. Bummer.

I bought these and loved them from the first minute I tried them on. I bought them a half size larger than I usually wear based on reviews, and that was spot on for size. Great quality and super soft leather. They are stylish too!

These boots are very comfortable and can be worn all day. I have worn them to work and for a day of shopping. They are difficult to get on and off but I have only worn them twice.

I love the boot but I'm a 9 and ordered a 9. It was too small even without socks. Waiting on my 9.5 replacement.

Great looking boot, nice leather, loved the look. Horrible design, with no zipper for ease of taking on and off. It took me so long to squeeze my foot into them, I couldn't imagine doing that every time, and I ordered a half size up. Normally take 6, ordered 6.5. If they were redesigned to have a zipper, I would reconsider.

I wanted to like this boot so very much. And once I got it on, it was great. But it was so hard to pull over my heel. There weren't any straps on top to pull up with, and I just couldn't push hard enough to get it it easily. Finally got it on one foot, but never could get it on the other. Once it was past the super narrow part it was very comfortable. But I can't imagine struggling THAT much to get boots on everytime I want to wear them. And even if it will loosen over time, I wasn't sure I'd ever get my feet in and out often enough to wear them to the point of loosening. So as much as I wanted to be able to wear them, I had to return them. :-(

I have several pair of Frye boots and almost cried at how poorly these fit because it's the only thing I asked for for Christmas. Everyone says Frye run small. I don't think they do from a length perspective, every pair has fit my size 10 feet with plenty of toe room, but they are always snug to start out. These were so tight it was ridiculous. I could get them on, which when you wear a larger size can be challenging, and it was a challenge, but I had to have someone grab them to get them off. I literally could not get them off myself they were so tight. NO touted super arch support. I thought with them being lined in leather they would be the best pair yet. Save yourself the money. "Lined in leather" and an inch taller is not worth $200. Get a pair of Veronica Shorts for almost half the price. Out of all the pairs I have, those are still the most comfortable ones yet. For $400, I'm not rolling the dice on breaking them in. Every other pair has been amazing right out of the box.

Heels are too hard and won't break in. Worn several times and get blisters on heels.
