Shoes received were different from picture. The picture shows the back with an off white piece of fabric that made the shoe look more sporty. The shoes I received were all the print fabric. Fit true to size but the back fabric comes up too high and is very stiff.

Very cute and would be very comfortable except for the heels. They rubbed and created deep cuts into my heels after walking just a few blocks. I think I will try to stretch or soften them somehow because I really like them otherwise.

I normally wear a 10.5, but bought these shoes in an 11. They were super cute and comfortable, but just too big. I thought I might have enough room to fit in a 10 (no 10.5 available), so I did an exchange for free (Thanks Zappos!). I really wanted these to fit! When I received the size 10 I could barely get my foot in the shoe, even without socks. I have a narrow foot and these are a medium width, but the material just doesn't stretch at all in the back or on the top. Once I got my foot in the shoe, it actually felt really comfortable and was a good fit. However, when I tried to walk the heels were very rigid and dug in to my heals. I knew without socks these would cause lots of pain. I checked the Zappos reviews to see if possibly the heels would soften up...but it looks like many have posted that they are just too rigid and don't soften. Therefore, I am returning them.

So upset and frustrated by these shoes. I’ve bought the same design twice and worn them out. These appear to be the same shoe but are the worst and cheapest fabric change. No give. Exact same shows years ago were perfect but with these I got a blister in 5 mins. They are NOT the same as years past

I own two pairs of TOMS Avalons already - they fit and felt great right out of the box. No fit issue with the black canvas version (consistent with the others), but the rigidity of the material has given me two exceptional blisters where the shoes hit both Achilles. I may try to soften in after they’ve had a chance to heal. Hopefully they break in because I do like the style.

I’m so surprised I haven’t read any reviews on how stiff these shows are. The backs are SO HARD and uncomfortable. I can tel from just slipping them on they killed the back of my feet right away. I’m so sad because these shoes are really sharp and I can tell they’ll look great with so many outfits. I’m contemplating wearing them around the house for a few days maybe to loosen them up. I’m hoping I don’t have to return them, but I’ll likely have to. They also run half a size small of my normal shoe size.

It's comfortable for short walks. I would not recommend it for travel where it involves a lot of walking.

These really, really dug into my heels. Looking at the silhouette of the shoe, you can see how much the heel slants inwards. It was disappointing, because I liked the removable footbed a lot... but the super stiff canvas and cut of this shoe just didn't work for me. I ended up buying and keeping a different style of TOMS sneakers.

Cute shoes but way too small. Im typically a 6.5-7 and I feel like I needed a 7.5 in these. I do have a wise foot but have the originals in a 6 and a 6.5 and they fit fine. Not sure...can't comment on comfort but I wish I could've kept these!

I love the Avalon style, but these are not near as comfortable as the white linen or the gray for some reason. The canvas is super stiff and doesn't really mold to my feet as well.

These are super cute and the footbed is much thicker than normal tom's but there's still no real arch support and the heel box is so wide and loose most feet will swim and slide around in them. Shame they are cut so wide, because they are super cute!

Was unimpressed with the quality and comfort of these. Maybe I have high standards, but I ordered about 7 pairs of black slip on sneakers, two being Toms, and immediately took them off. They didn’t compare to the others. Not necessarily because of fit, but comfort. I guess if you want to be on trend, but you’re just paying for the popularity contest.

Fabric very stiff and too big, not comfortable

I bought the shoes, they looked very nice on the website. And was really convenient to order through the site. But when I opened the shoes they were torn at the back and I was really disappointed. I'm really angry that this is how it got to me. I would not expect from the Zapos website to send a shoe in such a situation ... I buy a lot through Zapos and never before has anything like this happened to me! I'm really disappointed ... Hopefully I will get an answer soon and they will change my shoe.

I returned them because they had no grip/ tread on them.

I am not sure why people love this shoe. For me the sizing was completely wrong.....to wide, especially in the heel which meant I was not inclined to try a smaller size. Didn't feel like it would have sufficient arch support to be comfortable with extended walking.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR - DO NOT ORDER THIS SHOE! I am so glad that I waited to write this review. At first, I was in love. So comfortable. But a couple of days where these during after-work hours, they started coming a part. Now it is been a little over a month and they need to be completely tossed. Terrible quality shoe. Would love to return them if I have a lemon, because I think the concept is awesome, but the quality of the pair I have is THE WORST.
