Unfortunatly I had to give a review to say this: 1- it would be nice to know if this was a defect with a certain color of Persephone style docs 2- it might be worth going to the dr. martens website and giving customer service a call for those who got defective shoes 3- worth buying on their site for better support if you get a defective pair, they are the same price. 4- I have found sites that have all 5 star reviews on this shoe so this defect seems limited to the stock of a few suppliers 5- do these run true to DR. MARTEN sizes or regular american sizes? I am a 6 to 6.5 in American sizes but I have always (for over 20 years) worn a 3 in docs which they will tell you is an American 5. So, its kind of important to state true to which size. 5- if you watched the video, for crying out loud Zappos fix this, Persephone is a Greek Goddess, a daughter of Zeus...her name is not purse-a-fone like you mixed a purse with a telephone. It is per-seh-fa-nee!

Beautifully badass shoe with one major problem, the top of the shoe is torn. The side padding is coming off of the front panel part, and this is them fresh out of the box and never worn, and for this reason I am sending them back. Because I have seen this review on Zappos and other places my guess is that this is a flaw that happened during manufacturing. Which is really sad because I love the look of this shoe but for the price it is unacceptable for such a huge flaw.

PURSE-A-PHONE!...Ba hahahahaha! seriously? How did no one catch this! The glaring error in the video aside, these are amazing boots! They take the 90s chick trend to a new modern new look. LOVE! i found them true to regular shoe size but small compared to my Dr Marten size.

Fantastic boots with one problem: after three days of wear, the stitching that connects the padded collar to the front side of the boot began to tear away first on the left boot and then on the right. Two weeks later, the stitching is torn on all four "sides" of the padded collar. The rest of the boot is still fantastic. It looks great and is extremely comfortable, but the stitching for the padded collar is not strong enough. If you buy these, lace them up to the second to last holes and stop there.

I've had these boots since February, and I've gotten nothing but compliments every time I wear them. I did not experience the tearing problem mentioned in other reviews. These boots are comfortable, durable, and go with anything. Highly recommend.

I had been looking at these boots for a little while but I was hesitant to buy them because of the negative reviews about the construction. I took the risk anyway a couple of weeks ago because I love the style so much and so far they have been great! I have not had any issues with parts of the shoes coming undone. They look very stylish, and I have gotten a lot of compliments. They are of course pretty heavy. I am not usually a huge fan of heels because I am not the best at walking in them but the heel and platform are so chunky and the ankle has so much support that I never feel like I am going to fall or roll my ankle. If they hold up over time I would buy them again in another color.

These shoes are super cute and very sturdy. If your like me who cannot walk in heels very well, then these shoes would be a great fit for you since the back padding is very comfortable and prevent your ankles from bending. The only complaint I have is that the arch support isn't that great and when I spent some hours waking around, my feet were in a lot of pain that lasted the next day even when I wore my sneakers. Perhaps they will get better as I break them in further, but they are not nearly as painful al long as you don't intend to do a lot of waking around.

Pros: Constant compliments on these things, comfortable, and easy to style. Cons: Take care of the leather, consider avoiding really cold weather, anything that will promote cracking at the flex points. Want these in patent black, Zappos, pass the word.

I was skeptical purchasing shoes/boots online. (I wear a size 11W) I got the 11M. I was simply amazed how these boots just slipped on, they are extremely comfortable. I wear them while riding my motorcycle. Love them!!!

They shoes are badass. A bit heavy, but when you stomp along the hallways, you'll kill.

So cute and unique! I usually get UK 4 (Size 6) in Dr. Martens boots, but needed a Size UK 5 for these to fit just right. Very versatile, can be dressed up for dinner or casual for a trip to the store. Hope they get more colors!

I'm going to try a half size up because the arch is not in the right place for my foot and is uncomfortable. They are really fun, stylish, but sturdy boots for winter.

These boots are nearly perfect. I wanted something with a rugged sole that can get thru snow w/o issue...yet still with a heel so I can continue to wear pant lengths that are too long with flats. Awesome style, quite comfortable....unless you try to bend your ankle forward. The leather is EXTREMELY stiff and highly uncomfortable around the front of the ankle, reducing mobility. The soft ribbing is perfect in back, but there's no way to comfortably bend your ankle forward due to the stiff leather. I'm hoping the leather breaks-in a bit with wear. For now, I'm tying loosely at the top and flexing my ankles during the day to try to break them in.

I haven't been able to find a pair of Doc's that look good on my feet. But, I LOVE these! They're sophisticated and edgy. They're fairly comfortable and very stylish. The only negative I noticed was the tongue - the tongue on the left boot rubs the top of my foot a bit - no big deal.

This comment is actually directed at Zappos.com. I just thought you might want to re-shoot this video presentation (for the Persephone boots)... The actress calls these boots the 'purse-a-phone'... Persephone is a girls name and a character in Greek mythology. The name is pronounced 'purse-eff-own-ie'. These are not comfortable at all. So unfortunate, because they are so cool. I wanted something with a heel that I could wear to work. I wore these around the house for an hour and my feet/legs hurt.

Gorgeous boot with no break in; Comfortable out of the gate. I considered getting them in both colors until my pair came apart as described in previous reviews. So disappointing for a lifelong Dr. Martens customer.

First, it is not pronounced PER-SA-PHONE... Persephone is a Greek Goddess...come on people! Boots are way too high for everyday wear. the pitch is wired. I returned mine sometime ago but had to write this review as they still haven't changed that video.

Uncomfortable shoe that gives way after 4 times if wearing. I'm no stranger to heels or platforms. I thought these would be a great addition to my wardrobe. But after wearing a full day to work I could not walk and my feet were killing me. Then the second time I notice that the sides where the cushion meets the shoe string coming unattached didn't think anything of it. Now a fourth time both shoes are completely unattached. Not good for the brand or for zappos to be selling this crap. I want to call them knock offs because the craftsman ship and quality is so poorly constructed. Will be contacting both companies for advise. Am extremely disappointed as this is unacceptable.0

These are the most uncomfortable pair of shoes that I have purchased in a very long time. They are well made. They are just shockingly and horrifically miserable to wear. I am really surprised, considering the brand and the platform. Girls, this is not my first pair of heels or platforms by a long shot! Anyway, suffice it to say, I gave them a couple of chances and really thought I was going to die before I could get them off my feet. Both times, I chucked the suckers across the room, or rather kicked them off across the room. I wish that I could send them back! Consider yourselves warned.
