I got this for my daughter for school. It was smaller than I has expected but it was able to hold everything she needed comfortably. I was very happy with the color and pockets in the front and sides. I did not think a full water bottle would fit but it does no problem.

My average height 7.5 year old son felt like this was too small. I compared it to the backpack he had last year from another retailer, and this was definitely a few inches smaller. Sadly returning it.

Love the back pack for my 3 year old 56 lb size 6 boys a bit long for his back but he will grow into it. I would have loved it if it was all black like his papas or more color options.

I ordered this backpack for my son. Hes going to 4th grade. Should've checked measurements though because it's way too small, wont fit a folder without bending the corners. Other than that it was a very nice outdoor pack too go to a pool or a playdate. Nice colors, they really pop.

I bought this pack for my daughter to use in second grade. It is way smaller than she needs. So I am going to send this one back and get a youth sized one. The quality is pure North Face and I am certain it will stand up to whatever life throws at it. It would be great for camping or over night stays but not proper for older school kids.

I bought this backpack as a small(er) option for my son who was entering Kindergarten. I wanted to buy a quality backpack that could potentially last a few years. My experience with North Face backpacks has been positive and I have had my Jester backpack for over 6 years. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about this backpack. Although super comfortable (per my son) and visually appealing (Lightening bolt pattern) the side pockets were demolished within weeks of use. This is a kindergartner. I know kids can be heavy on clothes but a backpack? It appears that North Face did not think to reinforce the bottom of these side pockets leaving no protection between the ground or whatever surface the bag rests on and what is inside the pockets.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
This backpack is smaller than I envisioned for a child size backpack. It has a practical style and a comfort fit. The color does not photo well. I ordered the blue which was more teal/ultraviolet (purplish blue). I will be returning due to size/color.

I bought this for my 9 year old in 4th grade. Was hoping it would last her threw elementary, but the bag is a LOT smaller than i thought. She LOVES it and will keep forever. Just have to get a bigger one for next year, and yes it will be NORTH FACE!

I bought it for my son who is in second grade, its too small for him and he can barely fit his pocket folder and his hoodie. When winter comes he will not be able to fit a coat in there. I would buy this for my 2 yr old to put his toys and snack in when on the go.

Ordered for my middle schooler. We read the measurements and thought it would be ok. But it was say smaller than we had expected. Will be returning this one. Already picked up a larger northface backpack and it's perfect. This one is best for k thru 3, maybe 4th grades.

My daughter needed a bookbag for the 5th grade. This bag is way too small for a 5th grader. I thought 10yrs old was still apart of youth but I guess I was wrong. This bag is more for a 5-8 year old.
