Great fit and style. Only returned it because I was having to decide between several different styles. If I had room (and the funds!) I would have kept this additional pair.

These shoes are amazing! At least from a waterproof perspective. I wore these to a football game in the recent hurricane weather in the south east. I fully expected them to leak like a sieve, but they were the only "guaranteed waterproof" shoe I had so they were the best option. I walked 1-2 miles to the field, stood and wandered around a muddy tailgate field for 4-5 hours, then stood for 3-4 more in the pouring rain inside the stadium, and then finally walked 1-2 miles back to where I was staying, and at no time were my feet wet. My brother-in-law who was with me had rubber mid calf boots and he was worse off because his feet sweat so much they were soaked at the end. These are absolutely amazing! I can not say enough! Not sure how the mud kept from going over the top by my ankle, I think that part was just luck, because my jeans were muddy 6-8 inches up the leg.

Very stylish shoe with a good fit and comfortable for long walks. Great that it's also waterproof with gortex.

Fantastic technical shoe. Extremely comfortable with average arch support. I have used this shoe in wet conditions (through wet grass, some snow, heavy rain, rough terrain) and have not noticed any moisture in the interior or any signs of wear. I do travel a lot so the walking miles add up quickly through various terrain. The style is unique but they match very well with a pair of jeans and look much better in person. These shoes have performed tremendously and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair or recommend to a friend.

These are great shoes for those with narrow feet, unfortunately mine are wide and Salewa does not offer an EE version. These are innovative and forward thinking travel shoes. In many regards, these are the shoes I had been looking for to replace several walking, traveling, and hiking shoes. They are lightweight, waterproof, extremely breathable (this is an understatement), and they look cool. I've never tried on a shoe that was more breathable in my life. The insole is an open waffle weave that is supportive while allowing for maximum airflow. The metal mesh weave of the midsole makes air circulation constant, and it does not sacrifice protection from sharp or hard objects as it acts like chainmail. They also look a little quirky, but refined and simple, which is stereotypical Portland style. I tried these shoes from 10-11.5 US, I have a wide foot which generally fits in a 9.5-10.5 EE shoe, but not even the 11.5 was wide enough for me. These are great shoes for long hikes around town, in the woods, or while traveling. I wish they made a wide version.

Great disappointment from Salewa. These shoes are horrible. if you walk on wet road (which may happen given that you just purchased gore-tex shoes) the sole (which has a metal mesh) "sucks up" moisture and transfer to the leather. the shoes are then wet even if it doesn't rain and the leather stains from crap on the street water. Save the money and by something else
