The fit and size were perfect, but the leather was too stiff for comfort.

Order a size 42 as I have a size 11.5 foot; they indicate a 42 as comparable to a 12, which it is not - order a half size up. Also, I received a pair of shoes NOT in the original box, that had obvious appearances of "wear"; for a sandal at this price, that is unacceptable.

I'm so glad I bit the bullet and ordered my first pair of Mephistos. I wore these on a trip to Nashville straight out of the box and walked for two days straight in them with nary a blister in sight. I did have to loosen the strap to the last hole due to my high instep, but it works just fine.

Awesome! Worth every penny. Have foot issues (plantar fasciitis) and walked all over Greece for days in these shoes. Feet felt great. I also wear them to work as a teacher and am comfortable all day. Small break in period due to the braid that rubbed a little, but not a deal breaker. Get compliments every time I wear these. Look cute with casual summer dresses or pants. The leather is light, so you may want to put a protectant of some sort on this.

Order at least one size up! My feet measure at a size 12, but depending on the brand can wear anywhere from an 11-12. I ordered the 13's in these and they were still too small. The toe part is placed too close to the front of the sandal. Typically if you have a long foot, you have long toes to match. Mephisto doesn't account for that. I held these up to a pair of Tory Burch 12's, and the length was exactly the same as the Mephisto 13's. HOWEVER, your foot needs to sit comfortably on the cork footbed, which is small. The footbed is not sized properly. Apparently I'd require a size 14 (what!?) to wear Mephistos, which they don't make.

I would have loved to write a complete review, but I was sent dirty sandals (sweat stains and food splatter on insoles) with stretched out leather. Thankfully I did not need to wear them right away, or I would have been on the phone with much harsher words than I'm currently writing here. I might expect a discounted pair from Amazon to arrive in slightly used condition, but at full retail from Zappos, nothing less than brand new will do.

This is my fourth pair of Mephisto Helen sandals. I thought I’d go rogue this time and get the Helen Twistnand I like it as much or more than the normal Helen sandals. Great color, true-to-size fit and comfortable. I wore them into the city all day without any complaints. Another win for mephisto!

I wear a 9 or a 9.5 but the Zappos recommendation automatically filled my size as a 40 (10) and man, my sandals fit like a glove. I am so happy with this purchase. The arch support, the style, and color is perfect. The leather straps and footbed is so soft and the soles are so light. These will get many miles.

The size/fit was perfect for me. I usually wear a 7.5 and have narrow feet.

Had to return for next size up. The twist runs very narrow, but fit me like a glove.

These are cute sandals. I wear them daily to work, as flip flops aren’t permitted. They took a bit to soften and break in, but are very comfortable. Originally purchased to help with PF, they are great. Do not irritate it, and look stylish.

When I first put these on and walked around, I thought I would need to send them back. The toe loop felt stiff and I thought it would rub in that area with extended wear. My fears were un-grounded as it took just a few days wearing them in the house to make them adjust. I have bouts with plantar fasciitis and these are so comfortable I'm wearing them around the house because my all wood floors usually cause my foot to hurt if I'm barefoot. It doesn't hurt after wearing these and the toe loop adds stability. I love my old Mephisto slides but prefer the toe loop style for the stability. I don't mind being a little patient to have a nice-looking sandal that supports my foot so well. The size was spot on, I'm a size 7 and the 37 fit perfectly. The color looks more nude on my computer screen but I would agree it is beige as stated. The Twist added a cute variation to the Helen. Very happy with this purchase.

Love this sandal! Reading the other reviews certainly helped me choose the right size, so that my foot fit entirely inside the sandal. This is a more narrow and feminine look than a Birkenstock. Very comfortable, took very little wear to break in (they were basically ready to wear for an extended period right or of the box). I have medium width feet, with high arches. I plan to wear these on a big trip abroad, and I think they'll be perfect. I'm going to order them in another color!

Love the fit of these shoes and they are less bulky and thinner width wise than Birkenstock - which I love as well. I have tendon issues in my right foot so I have to be particular on the type of sandels I wear. These are perfect.

I think these are very cute and comfortable, but compared to Birkenstock sandals I bought a year later, they don’t hold up as well. I don’t wear these as often since buying the Birks, but they are perfectly good shoes for people with PF.

I have a narrow foot so the adjustable buckle was a plus in my decision to order these. The leather is soft and smooth and the foot bed is very comfortable. However, the diagonal strap is SO TIGHT I cannot wear them for long. I have had them for a year and keep thinking it will loosen up, but it hasn't.

As per the other reviews and the Mephisto instructions, these do run small by about 1/2 a size. I'm in between a 6.5 and a 7 in flat shoes to the 7 just fit, but had I been a true 7, they would have been too small. They are very narrow, which works for me since I have narrow feet, but if you are a medium, I would consider the wide width. Now that the sizing information is out of the way, these are extremely comfortable. I wanted something a little more substantial than flip flops and these fit the bill. They are much lighter than I expected them to be, which is nice. The leather isn't overly stiff straight out of the box and will definitely soften over time. I wore them all day the first day I had them, walking over a mile and only had tiny blister right at the toe opening, but was able to wear them again 2 days later with no problem. The pink is a very lovely light dusty pink, which will function as a neutral. I would definitely get these again and am considering the navy. These will definitely be my go-to shoes for the summer!

I've been wearing Mephisto Helens for over 11 years, and thought I'd try the Twist. Unfortunately, they fit smaller and narrower than the Helens and I had to return them. They are very cute and they had excellent arch support, I'm sad they had to be returned. Coming back today to order my usual Helens.

Love these so much, but they are just too narrow. I've worn Birkenstocks for years, but find the quality is not as good as it used to be. I'd love to switch to Mephistos, but they are simply too narrow for my medium width feet. (I am a size 11m, never a narrow in any other shoe, so think these must run a bit slim). Too bad as I'd purchase a wider shoe if it was offered.

Loved the style of this sandal, but even when ordering the next whole size larger, they still felt small and in particular, VERY narrow — and I don’t normally have an issue with shoe width!

Oh my what happened to my favorite sandals, I have a pair from 3 years ago a size 9. Now with a size 10 I can't where them side of foot hangs over & the leather quality is much thinner. I know companies are trying to save money but then these should cost. :(

Perfection. Please Mephisto, bring the pure classic back.

They were comfortable as soon as I put them on. I did not have to break them in. A great walking shoe!!

I rule out many sandals because I tend to get blisters between my toes, but these, like all my other Mephisto sandals, are very comfortable, no blisters, I LOVE them.
